Shady Lady Bed and Breakfast

i absolutely loved everything about this place. i felt at home right away and i think that’s what Jennifer and Nigel try to achieve, make everybody feel welcome and treat them like family. after check-in i got a glass of wine and the hosts and all the other guests sat down on the front porch and we just enjoyed the evening and had a great time. in the morning we all had breakfast together and it was so delicious. the room was also perfect, big comfortable bed, nice shower and a bathtub. i’m so happy i found Jennifer and Nigel’s place. i had a really good stay. and i also recommend their place. it’s just about 2 hours outside of Las Vegas. hope to see you again :)

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Shady Lady during our visit to Death Valley very much! The staff was so nice and helpful, they went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Not only we had a tasty breakfast, but our dog got scrambles every morning. We felt very welcomed by everyone at Shady Lady. It was fun to be around peacocks and to learn the history of this Bed & Breakfast. We would definitely stay there again!

What a cool place...and Jennifer was the icing on the cake. Is a true animal lover and gave my lil' chihuahuas treats and extra special rubbies:) An interesting history with artifacts and pictures to look at. We even bought some art to take home with us.

My husband kept hitting his head on the hanging lantern in our room and then somehow hit his head on the curved atrium wall before getting into bed. He had a rough time of it, but I was fine, so probably his bad;)

The staff and hosts were very friendly. Private jetted tub was fabulous. The property was clean and inviting. There are many peacocks around, they were beautiful.

The property is a bit out of town, but the hosts make that very clear in their communications. They are quite accommodating with the use of kitchen facilities for preparing snacks, etc.

Really nice hosts who make you feel welcome from the getgo. Also a very unique location, not only the building, but also the setting. Perfect place to watch the stars.

The bed was nog very comfortable so we didn't sleep very well. Also at night there was quite a lot of noise from coyotes or wild dogs and in the morning peacocks. Nice to see, but hard to sleep through ;)

We loved the peacocks on the grounds and the hot tub in my room. Jennifer and her husband were wonderful hosts and we enjoyed an excellent evening of conversation with other guests as well as in the morning over breakfast.

The tricky part is that there's no food or desserts close by so we had to bring in take out from Beatty (about 30 minutes away) and the food choices are limited but nothing to do with Shady Lady. They were great!

The location was a little hard to find but once I was there it was delightful! The room was absolutely charming. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable! Breakfast was wonderful! Freshly cooked sausage and eggs with fresh mixed fruit on the side, coffee and orange juice. Yum!

it as a little green oasis in the middle of the desert. the grounds were well maintained and the Peacocks, peahens and chicks made the place more magical. I will stay here again when I pass this direction. the breakfast was perfect and the staff was very kind and courteous.

I greatly appreciated the efforts of our host and hostess to make our stay enjoyable! You can tell that they care about the people who stay there. Our room's theme gave it a lot of atmosphere. I LOVED the peacocks - sitting out back in the evening and in the morning to watch them do their tailfeather displays was, for sure, the highlight of my stay. It was also nice to see more stars than usual at night.

The stiff bed was unfortunately very uncomfortable for me. Spouse didn't have an issue, but I was waking up every 45 minutes or so during the night. I also wish that the room had either AC or a fan, although that wasn't a major issue since we stayed during a pretty temperate week, and if it had truly been a problem, I could've asked for a fan in case they had one to spare (I did not ask at the time).

Great out of the way place for a get a way! The owners were amazing. Nigel gave us a tour of the property and pointed out some interesting facts as well. We plan to go back and BBQ with them! It felt like family from the start. This is a place to get away from it all! Do not have expectations that there are amenities next door etc. This is exactly what we were looking for so we did love it!
