Howard Johnson by Wyndham Downtown Gatlinburg

have stayed here quite a few times now. we love the location and love the staff generally. I love that it is quick and easy to get checked in and out. The grounds around the complex are very nice and maintained.

The last two times we have been, we’ve noticed a big change in the cleanliness of our rooms. the floors are essentially untouched. they get a simple dust sweep and that’s it. The ice bucket was not cleaned. the bathtub still had hair in it and the bathroom sink hadn’t been cleaned. It’s pretty disappointing after receiving such great customer service in the office. The floors could use an actual cleaning, not just a dust sweep. The bathroom could use more attention to detail as well. the little details tells me that whoever is cleaning the rooms actually care. This didn’t show in this room or the one we’ve previously stayed in. The bathroom sink faucet is also too short for the sink bowl. I know this is minimal, but annoying because it causes the water to run onto the sink.

Comfy and great view. Location to town and food was great.

Maid service for cleaning of room. Maid only took towels,(she did not replace anything but the washcloth) She only picked up the trash and dirty towels, she did not make the bed or end check to see if I needed anything. I had to ask for more coffee and toliet paper. Very unfriendly.

Location is great for downtown Gatlinburg. Very nice parking by room doors.

Bed was very firm and hard. But the value n closeness to everything is hard to beat while staying here.

Great location close to downtown. Convenient classic motel with some fab additions to it such as armchairs in front of the room.

Heating being a bit noisy but efficient.

Everything was wonderful ( except the bed was alittle hard). Rooms were clean, staff was wonderful.

The bed was ok, but definitely alittle hard for me!

There was no hot water for a shower, but the sink had hot water so I had to take a whore bath!!

We loved that we could walk to Gatlinburg in just a few minutes. Location was great. Room was great. We will definitely stay there again.

The only issue we had was on the last morning, we were packing up. It was before 9 AM and even though we had our "do not disturb" sign on our door, there was a knock on the door. No one said anything and when my daughter answered the door, the lady said " housekeeping". I'm just glad we were dressed. Does that mean they would've come on in if we hadn't answered the door? It makes us wonder if they come in through the day when we're gone even though we have the "do not disturb" sign on the door.

Location price comfortable beds.

Seen 1 cockroach however killed it and seen no more at all after.

the room was nice except the fridge door wasn't closing and the topper on the shower was gone but it was a great location and fairly clean outside and friendly staff.

ok the breakfast thing.... we are ALL OVER "DUE TO COVID" THING. The little muffin for breakfast doesn't appeal to anyone. so restaurants don't just give you a muffin. Why can't you get back to a decent breakfast? it's a great perk for travelers. don't always cut corners to save a little money, give customers something back because the cost of a hotel is terrible as it is. is that DUE TO COVID TO????

The staff are always friendly and helpful. They are very thorough and knowledgeable. The housekeeping staff does a good job at keeping the rooms clean. This is our third visit to this hotel and will keep returning. The beds were very comfortable and the AC worked great!

The rooms are starting to show a bit of wear and tear but to be fair they are used a lot. My sister had a room next to ours and they noticed that the towels had not been changed out and there were empty beer bottles on their balcony but other than that there were no complaints. The towels were changed out and the bottles thrown away. Our rooms were right in front of the pool so there was some noise (to be expected) but at 10:00 pm the pool shut down and then it was quiet.
