Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Exmore-Eastern Shore, an IHG Hotel

Very clean. Great breakfast.

Check in took a while, because the computer system wasn't working properly. I paid in advance, but they held me for 15 minutes so that they could add a $50 incidental fee. The front desk worker was nice and apologetic. She called a manager multiple times. The manager was inattentive and kept hanging up before the issue was resolved, then wouldn't answer at all. The manager should have told her to waive the fee, considering it was only a hold and one hundred percent refundable anyway rather than holding up the guest. Minor hiccup for an otherwise pleasant stay.

Compared to other hotel self-serve breakfasts, this one was excellent: attentive staff, refilling food items quickly. Never had biscuits from any other hotel, and they were great. The coffee - could not tell the difference between yours and Starbucks. The Front Desk Associate changed our room so we could be closer to the elevator as my husband has mobility issues. The bed was perfect - nice and firm. Tonight I am at a Hampton Inn and your property’s room - both standard - was superior in size and decor, however this is an older hotel.

Breakfast was excellent--lots of good options and I appreciated the COVID precautions taken. The staff were all cheerful, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The pillows were great--oversized and very fluffy but not hard. I liked having a fridge available. When we left and then returned bc I had forgotten a pair of earrings in my room, the woman at the front desk recognized me and immediately had my key ready for whatever I'd forgotten.

The bathroom was just ok. It was clean, which for me is the most important thing. The shower head was old and not adjustable for the stream. There wasn't a thing decorating the walls, which made it feel institutional. That made me focus on the exposed pipes under the sink and a few fixtures that weren't properly finished while I was in there.

Breakfast was great until the fire alarm

I knew the cause of the fire alarm but the staff should have evacuated the hotel or turned off the alarm when the cause was discovered. It sounded for way too long. I would assume the staff called the fire department as they never responded at all.

The great complimentary breakfast. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable. All the amenities we needed were there as well. Very friendly staff.

This is not a complaint. Just a nice thing to have would be higher toilets. As we are senior citizens, that would be a big plus.

Breakfast was great

Was a child running and jumping late at night. Parents just let child run and jump at late hours. Staff should put small kids and children on the first floor not the 3rd floor. So they don’t disturb someone underneath them.

The rooms were spotless! The beds were really comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was one of the best breakfasts I've seen at a hotel.

The walls were kind of thin, we were able to hear a lot of what was going on in the hallway. There was this weird noise that also went on throughout our stay by the fridge- sounded like a single knock- went off every couples of minutes.

We were driving to a family celebration in Virginia Beach and needed to stop for the night. We were happy to see a Holiday Inn Express. Holiday Inn Express is always a good place to stay and this location was no exception.

The hit breakfast was excellent with many choices. I appreciated the staff providing gloves to use at the buffet.

I can’t think of anything to make it better. The facility was beautiful and provided a nice pool and fitness room and the staff were friendly and helpful.
