We like the 1950s feel of the property, but it has been brought up to the standards of the 21st-century. It was very clean, both in the rooms and also on the grounds. It’s a sort of motel we love to stay in because it shows something about the American past. It is much more interesting than staying at a bland chain hotel. It might not be suitable for everyone because it doesn’t have 100% of the amenities people might expect, but it does have Wi-Fi, limited cable channels, a swimming pool, grounds that are decorated in vintage things, pet rabbits and chickens in neat pens. Overall, it’s a very pleasant place if you like old motels. They welcome dogs so that was an added plus.

upgraded motor lodge. perfect if you don’t want to stay in a shoebox chain hotel. treated like family. granted there will be some that it doesn’t meet there standards. wife and I loved it.

not being picky, I personally had no problems what so ever. a few other guest had minor issues, but staff was quick to respond and remedy issues

The motel was so cute and cozy. The pool was refreshing even though it was small it was never overcrowded. Having the fire pit was such a great addition so you didn't have to spend your time inside your room at night. They also had what was called a container bar and it was right next to the pool area but not far from the fire pit. The staff was exceptional. Cheyenne, Bobby and Gloria from housekeeping were totally awesome. They were very personable and friendly and met every need as did all the staff. We already are planning on coming back within a couple months

We knew the rooms were a little small but being an older motel that is to be expected as back in the day they didn't have king size beds. It would have been nice to have some kind of shelf in the bathroom, above the towel rack to put toothbrushes and toothpaste. Or maybe a medicine cabinet for toiletries and such.

Loved the swimming pool! Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Front desk lady gave me an extra pillow for my bad hip, which was a big plus! Our toddler LOVED the rabbits and chickens! Absolutely enjoyed our stay. Such a nice place for a budget price.

The room was a little dirty. Sheets and stuff were clean but the nightstand was covered in dust and pet fur, the floor was really sandy and dirty. We didn't really mind that much, but that could be improved upon.

I loved the vintage feel of the motel. It very much felt like a 1950s/60s style motor lodge. The staff were very kind and helpful. There were chickens and bunnies on site, which my daughter very much enjoyed. The pool was the perfect size and we had it virtually to ourselves! I also loved the pink tiles in the bathroom 🙂 Also, we stayed for my daughter’s 10th birthday, so I emailed in advance asking if they could put up a banner and balloons as a surprise. The staff happily obliged. We wouldn’t have gotten that at a larger chain hotel.

The bathroom was tight, but that was my only complaint.

The lady at the front desk is phenomenal. Shes also the pool bartender and she was helping out cleaning crew get rooms turned around. I believe she is the owner but I’m not 100% sure. rooms are very cute and look recently renovated. they are amazing at getting you extra towels if need be. they have a small area with some animals that the kids can look at and pet. overall we loved it and for the price you can’t beat it for being 10 minutes from the beach and downtown cape Charles

rooms/beds are a little small but understandable with how small property is.

This is a great place to stay when you’re on the road. There isn’t anything to do there except the pool is nice. Cape Charles is a short drive away. The prices are high there, so this is an affordable alternative.

The decor is cute. However, when I was in the bathroom, the barn door door got stuck shut. My husband got it open, but I couldn’t budge it. When I checked out, no one was in the office. I found a piece of paper and left a note with my key.

Convenient, clean and comfortable room. Worked well for us on a trip down the coast.

They added the booking.com commission to our bill as a separate charge only on the day of check-in, it was never mentioned before. And since no one was there to talk to at check-in or check-out there was no easy way to dispute it.

VERY clean inside. Not what you would expect from a motel on the highway. It looks recently renovated. New “faux hardwood” floors and furniture. All linens were laundered, including bedspreads - none of those ancient comforters I recently saw in a B&B in Williamsburg. Bottled water, soap from Switzerland and lined ice buckets provided. Dish TV. Though I didn’t watch TV - I actually read a book about the history of the Eastern Shore. They allow small dogs at least - I saw several. Friendly staff was present and efficient.

Be aware that it is about 6 miles outside the quaint, upscale downtown of Cape Charles, where the restaurants are. Unless you want to eat at McDonald’s or a gas station, you will need to go there for meals. The Internet was down due to a recent storm, but that was not something the motel could control.

The motel was amazing! The facilities were absolutely amazing. Everything was very clean and easily accessible. The pool was very clean and cozy. They had chairs set up as well as umbrellas. It has already been rebooked for my next trip!

Nothing. The staff was very friendly and gave it a bed and breakfast type of feel. It’s a smaller facility and they gave a warm cozy feeling.
