We arrived at dark, in rain, several hours after the office was closed, equipped with (excellent) text message instructions for where to find the envelope with keys. The envelope also contained a map of the property, so finding our room was a breeze. Within minutes, we were all settled in the cozy living room. Fabulously close to Crystal Mt. resort, much nicer than the accommodation facilities near the gondola, with a well-equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher!) Alta is the perfect place for a winter getaway.

The only fail was the fireplace... next time, we are bringing a fire-starter. It was really hard to get the fire started, and impossible to keep it going longer than 20 minutes. Maybe the chimney needs cleaning? Also, we were bummed that the hot-tub area was not open. Perhaps there was a good reason for that, but heads up would have been nice.

The location was perfect. I think it was the off season because it didn't seem to crowded. The room came with a kitchen area and everything one could need while exploring. I even got a chance to use the hot tub. I just wish I had more than one night there to fully appreciate/enjoy the accommodations. Resort staff was also super friendly and answered questions about food in the area, etc.

Easy check-in, very friendly staff, excellent DVD rental options. Everything was very clean and as expected. The close proximity to Crystal Mountain and the entrance to Mt. Rainier make this a great place to stay for mountain exploration! Plus, relaxing in the hot tub after a day of hiking was AMAZING!

We knew we would be far from any open dining areas, however, we booked on the basis of the website claiming they had in-room dining options. When we arrived, we were told they didn't have this option available for us and we had to purchase items from their store. This was fine, they had a good selection of foods (even for my dairy-free friend), but we would've come prepared with our own food items if I had been aware that their "heat and eat" option wasn't available. Call ahead to double-check before venturing out without a backup plan.

The staff was very friendly and even leave the check-in information at the door of the lobby as we arrive after they were gone. They help us with everything they could. The location is just 12 minutes away from the ski resort, which is very convenient.

DirecTV was working only the first day and then it stops working for the remaining of our stay. Although they offer a wide selection of movies, I prefer live TV. The cleaning of the room was only due before we arrive, and then they didn't do it again. they told us that was because of COVID protocols, nevertheless, it worth mention as we stayed there for 4 nights and it would have been helpful if the room was cleaned more regularily.

The setting is beautiful and the property and room seemed well maintained. Staff were friendly. We loved the pool, hot tub and accessible hiking.

There were a couple of trails that could have been better maintained. It would have been helpful to have extra towels and/or terrycloth robes in the room for the pool. It would also be helpful to have part of the volleyball field fenced off for dogs. That area is supposed to be the off-leash area, but it is completely open.

the property and location were perfect. very pretty and close to crystal mountain. the room was clean and as advertised. the staff was very friendly. check in and out we’re easy too.

I didn’t like the baseboard heaters, kind of dangerous for kids and pets.

I love the trails, the hammocks, the pool, the people. I've stayed twice and have never ran out of things to do.

I always drive right past it, no markers on the road. And the walls and ceilings are super thin.

A chalet room for two was perfect. We would love to bring our dogs next time too. The pool and hot tub were great to use, especially when it was not busy. The general manager Greg was so helpful, generous and kind throughout our stay. I really liked the texting service with Akia that provided real time feedback and support. I was able to ask questions and get help when needed. Cell service is limited to non-existent so be ready to really disconnect and relax. Overall, it was a wonderful trip and really fun experience for me and my partner.

I would have liked the enforcement with COVID rules to be a little more stringent. While I understand each adult is fully capable of taking responsibility for their own conduct and complying with rules, it would have been nice to see a little more from management side. I think of this primarily around using the pool and hot tub. There were people drinking by the pool and hot tub, despite multiple signs against that. Parties were asked to wait turns to use the hot tub but that was often neglected. So we opted to avoid those amenities at times. I feel more disappointed with those people than the resort itself of course but I can't help but think just reminders from the resort folks would have helped.

We were coming for a family wedding, and needed to change accommodations at the last minute, the staff worked with us to make the adjustments. We also had a late check in, the staff was amazing to make sure we would be taken care of. I love the text message checking that we all good and if we needed anything. Thank you all for making our first trip to the West coast easy.

Absolutely beautiful area of WA! This was our second time at Alta and will definitely be back again! I also really liked the contactless check in and how I was able to text any questions I had to the concierge.
