Packwood Lodge & Cabins

I booked one of the cabins with the jacuzzi. Perfect after long days of hiking! Comfy beds with plenty of pillows. Full-size refrigerator and adequately supplied kitchen. A picnic table and grill just outside my door which I wasn't prepared to take advantage of. I could definitely see a family or group of friends booking for a week and using as a home base for day hikes. Bonus as it has an AC which seems to be difficult to find in accommodations in the area! Super quiet.

Kitchen could have been better stocked. Bathroom had a bit of a mildewy smell. Sheets have seen better days.

The small cozy cabins had a very nice atmosphere. Although compact, everything you might need was there: fully stocked kitchen (with dishwasher), spa tub. It was well located to explore the entrances to Mt. Rainer park. Make sure the entrance you choose is accessible when you plan your trip. We were there in early July and we were lucky that the Sunrise entrance had opened the weekend we arrived. Due to roadworks/repairs the Paradise entrance was open only on weekends.

The town itself had very little choice of restaurants.

The front desk person was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was spacious for one queen bed, including bathroom. Obviously, it was ADA-accessible on the ground floor with a parking space and pathway right up to our door. Key card worked on first try! Mini fridge kept our food cold. Coffeemaker was clean and ready to use. 20 minute drive to White Pass!

Cigarette smoke greeted us as we unloaded our bags into the room. I noticed an outdoor ashtray, located two doors down. Pillows were extremely soft, not supportive during sleep (had to fold the two pillows to make it comfortable). I noticed carpet was a bit dingy. I laid a bath towel down to do pre-stretches right before we left for White Pass. Not much of a TV person, but when I turned it on, I quickly turned it off after fidgeting with settings for brighter crisper images unsuccessfully. FYI - Key card deactivates if you store it in pocket with your cell phone. If it's after 9pm, it's quite a fiasco to get back into your room.

Our cabin was wonderfully themed, clean, and cozy. The kitchenette was also very useful. We spent the weekend crafting on the couch with Christmas movies cued up on the TV and our 6 month old puppy snuggling by our feet. It was lovely!

Although there were a couple of light fleece throw blankets available in the cabin for extra coziness on the couch, I felt a bit cold in bed due to the lightness of the bed linens. I wished for a heavier duvet. Also, we were only supplied one roll of toilet paper for a 2 night stay. With that said, I would 100% book again in any season!

Good location as a base point for trails in the Mt. Rainer area; about 5 min drive from Packwood. We stayed in two cabins, one with two queen beds and another one with single queen bed (for six people overall). The rooms were clean and nice and pretty spatial and comfy. WiFi quality was good... There is a micro and oven in the room and all the required kitchen tools.

The smoke detector in the room was very sensitive and turned the alarm a few times even during regular cooking...

The managers were helpful and very friendly. The room was large, had microwave and fridge. Fluffy towels and good shower head. Best was EV charging as the area is remote and we needed to charge the car to make it back home!

Not a biggie, but would have preferred a continental breakfast option, but the area is remote. Good for camping at Ohanapecosh or hiking. The restaurants were a couple miles back in town, and there was a Mexican food restaurant at the end of the driveway for breakfast tacos.

It was a clean, comfortable, and overall a nice place to stay. The staff called me because I was going to be late; they left a key for me in the mailbox. Very nice, but the front office was closed when we got in. There was a phone number to call if needed anything-fair enough.

It was great. I have nothing to complain about.

The cabin was quiet and had very nice amenities. The jacuzzi tub was great and the decor was warm and inviting. Having the kitchen in the room was also a big plus.

The only thing that was a little disappointing was the condition of the bedspread. There were a couple visible stains on the blanket that should have been laundered.

The location was perfect for entering Mount Rainier National Park at the Paradise section of the park. Our room was very clean, spacious and the staff was helpful and friendly.

To be extremely picky, there was no breakfast offered, and one of the electrical outlets in our room was not working.

Loved the space in the room and parking was super easy. Fully stocked kitchen in terms of dishes, cups, silverware, pots, pans and cooking utensils. Very clean fridge and kitchen.

I really wanted coffee in the morning and though there was a coffee pot, there was no actual coffee or creamer or sugar.
