La Quinta Inn & Suites - New River Gorge National Park

The hotel was a very nice stay to explore the New River Gorge Area. It was 20 minutes out from the main visitor center and some of the best trails were just a bit further out. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. The room had a fridge and microwave which was nice. The bathroom was clean, good water pressure. Hotel rooms can either face the highway or a parking lot for a strip mall, so either way the room wont be very quiet but the strip mall side is a bit quieter. The pool was a nice addition.

There was no crib available for our 2-year-old. We brought our own but would be good to have one on site. Breakfast would benefit from more sustainable stuff (paper plates, compostable utensils, paper cups for hot drinks) as they are not that much more expensive.

The location was great to so many wonderful outdoor activities in the area! Multiple stores and restaurants right next to the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is free breakfast in the morning with a few selections. The room was clean and comfortable with a decent workspace at the desk. It was surprisingly quiet given it's location right on the road!

Some guests were having a full blown drunk drama in the hallway all night 🙄 It's absolutely not the hotel's fault and they were very apologetic. People please leave your drama at home, you are not alone in public spaces. Have some respect

This wasnt the hotels fault,but a guest on our floor must have had fight with his partner and at 3 am or so, there was banging on a door, pleading to be let in. The banging ranged from quiet and loud. I’m all for enjoying your time, but there should be a universal quiet hour after midnight at least. Wish hotel desk had asked us how our stay was. They were friendly but would have been nice to have been thanked. Would have made us fee appreciated.

The breakfast was excellent. The only thing lacking was yogurt, not a big deal because there was a lot of selection. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was a good size and it had lots of counter space. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The eating area has a lot of seating.

Road noise was loud. We couldn’t use the room heater because it would only blow cold air, therefore we couldn’t muffle the highway sounds. They did give us a discount because the heater was broken. Also, not very sound proof as we could hear people in the hallway.

Breakfast was good and located close to businesses.

Not getting a room that had guests already in it when I unlocked the door with my key card they had just gave me. That was and could have been a dangerous situation that luckily didn't turn out bad. My wife and I could have walked in on any sort of thing that wasn't our business. Front desk said apparently their computers had been acting up and giving them improper information on which rooms were occupied. We hope this never happens to us or anyone again! Not a good feeling to have.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. We got there late and he was just so pleasant which is a great change from the usual half dead staff that works at night at other hotels we’ve been to.

The shower/tub was a little uncomfortable it was soft in the center and looked like it had been “patched” there. only negative thing about the whole hotel.

the bathroom was dirty (215). underneath the counter was half cleaned like someone couldn’t be bothered to reach all of the shelf. the bathtub had two long hairs in it (not mine) lots of stains in the carpets hallway and some in rooms we had two rooms on two cards. she took both cards but rang both through on the first card (we noticed after we left the hotel😞….causing me to get dinged twice for exchange rates on credit card)

Safe location that was easily accessible. Friendly and courteous staff.

I was pleased with the property. Only complaint is that someone put black electrical tape over and exterior hall door so it would not lock. We were able to enter without key access at any hour, so this means anyone could enter. We did not mention this to the staff because we were not there long. I’m not complaining, but when I stay again I will mention this if it’s still an issue.

Makeup mirror in bathroom really nice. Hot tub was wonderful. Breakfast area was nice and room for plenty of people.

Breakfast food was not stock and kept on a busy weekend morning. Room was not refreshed on a daily basis. No notification at all from the staff till we asked. Safety and customer service issue, there was only one person working on Sunday evening and multiple people were at the front desk and calling for assistance on different things. The employee said he usually the only one on most nights. Low water pressure in the shower.

I didn’t have a do not disturb sign and maybe that was the reason but the house keeping kept opening my door and thankfully I had my door latched to where they couldn’t open the door fully ! so that was the only problem it happened like 4 different occasions! but house keeping was willing and able to help me with a wonderful attitude 😀
