Don Q Inn

The most unique place I ever stayed. Lobby has antique barber chairs around fireplace. Nice game room. Decent breakfast and the indoor pool and hot tub was great. There is an opening to swim under a door to the outside portion of pool. Close to huge state park and to House on the Rock . Close to town. Huge airplane om property that you can go onto. Some bird poop inside plane is positive because the birds have shelter from any harsh weather. Staff was very nice. Theme rooms and regular rooms. Coffee maker in the room. I would stay here again.

Kinda wacky, very clean with helpful, friendly staff. Enjoyed the pool and breakfast in the lobby.

The pool is great, breakfast exceeded expectations. The staff was friendly. It just has a charm that is unmatched in other hotels. Sure it’s a little dated and beat up but it’s well loved and cared for. The rooms are clean and spacious, there is cool furniture in the lobby (barber chairs) it’s just the perfect place to lay your head on a trip to House on the Rock.

breakfast was the usual. cereal, waffle machine, and coffee. more than adequate but nothing to write home about. room had large mirrors over bed. shades of the 70's. waking up in the morning looking at yourself is not a pretty sight.

the bed was awful! mattress should be discarded and replaced.

Loved the entire facility. Kids had a great time Pool/fireplace/game section was utilized everytime we cam back to the hotel. Staff recommeded some great local places to eat at, and they did not faily. Everyone was super friendly

Buffet was good, however, both days, we had to heat up our food in the microwave as the warmers werent keeping it up properly. (But there was a high volume and I believe they tried to heat up, it just was not thorough) Everything else was great.

I stayed here about 10 years ago when visiting House on the Rock. Had fond memories of the place, and thought would try it again on a recent visit to Spring Green. Was not disappointed! Nice location just down the road from House on the Rock, Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin estate, Governor Dodge State Park, Wisconsin River, and only about an hour drive to the Dells. Also some good food options nearby in Dodgeville. It's an older place, but charming & pretty neat. We stayed in a standard room, so I'm not sure how the fantasy suites compare. But the standard rooms, although dated and nothing fancy, are very big, and clean. The whole place was very clean. The indoor/outdoor pool area is also neat in the fact there is an opening to allow you to go from indoor/outdoor as one connected pool. The continental breakfast was pretty standard, but good (B&G, sausage, waffle maker, cereal, toast, bagels, drinks etc.) runs from 6-10am in the lobby. The lobby is also a pretty neat set up with a bunch of old barber chairs around a giant wood stove (runs seasonally), as well as upstairs 'loft' seating that includes a game room. Again, it's an older dated place, but very charming, with some neat history and also has an old retired military cargo carrier plane out front that you can walk through! It's a neat place, will definitely stay again if in the area.

The only con would be the (standard room) beds are not the most comfortable and the pillows a little flat. But I've definitely stayed in worse hotel beds, and 3 nights in these beds didn't kill me. But a fluffy topper and some puffy pillows would be nice!

We liked the 70s look that is still going on throughout the place and different things to see including the plane outside! It was perfect to stay at Don Q Inn before seeing the House on the Rock

Nothing we did not like other than the housekeeping could use some Softscrub on the bathroom sink :)

Loved the uniqueness of the whole place, including all the games and seating areas in the upstairs area, as well as a huge airplane that you could visit!

Even though part of the charm is the vintage and eclectic decor, a few things seemed worn-out and in need of refurbishing.

Unique place that has been there a long time! I remember going there as a teenager in the 80s so it was fun to stay there again. Price was reasonable and great location to House on the Rock.

Friendly staff. our room was large and very comfortable. We slept great. It is a bit out of town and back from the highway, so was very quiet. There are unique historical things to look at. My husband enjoyed going into the old military cargo plane. Breakfast was the normal fare and plenty of it.
