Paradise Island Resort

Easy checkin, great price. Apartment was good with great view over the river. We were not around during the day as we were playing in a bridge tournament at the Convention Centre. Well located for this.

Rangehood and surrounding cupboards were oily. Cooktop old and stained. Dishwasher had some food residue down the bottom. No dishwasher tablets so didn't use it. No tea towel to dry dishes. Hole in the wall in laundry area. Otherwise excellent value for money. PS - I cleaned the cupboard doors near the rangehood.

Wished I had read the comments first before booking to stay here. The appartment was not clean and could do with a good spring clean. The oven was dirty (which you would not want to use). Went down to the reception to complain and the young lady took notes and I was advised that they will arrange for the apartment to be clean. As we would not be cooking, while staying there (only staying for two nights), I suggested that the oven should be clean for the next people. One good thing the bed was comfortable and did have clean sheets. Had a ceiling fan in the bedroom, did not turn on due to the thick dust on the fan. Did ask if we could have another room, but was told they were full. The room was nothing like the photos on the website.

Our 1 bed river view apartment was great, a bit dated/basic decor but it was spacious and had an amazing view from the balcony. Location - The resort is around 5 minutes walking to the Surfers Paradise tram stop with excellent transport links and probably about another 5 minutes from there to get to the beach and main shopping/entertainment centre There are pretty good facilities here, the pool area was really nice and there’s a tennis court with basketball hoop Free laundry facilities outside the room were really useful Netflix on the TV Fully equipped kitchen

The gym is really poor, I wouldn’t even call it a gym. There are no weights just a few cardio machines so I went to a local nearby gym The reception and corridors are very very dated and a bit shabby, needs a makeover

The location was amazing and so close to the main strip, yet fair enough we had solitude. The pool was amazing, and the spa was probably one of the better spas I've been in. Access is easy with the pass, and the staff were great happy to help out at any time with what they could.

No housekeeping once for a 5 day stay, which was a little disappointing. However, I would stay there again and not let this deter me from coming again.

Nice sized room. Really enjoyed the use of the pool, tennis courts, outside seating along river edge, close to shops, transport and the beach. Very 'homely and personable' feel. Price was excellent and certainly value for money. Having own washing machine, dryer & ironing board was an added bonus. Air conditioner was quiet, which was helpful (see below).

The following comments do not detract from the great facilities and the relaxing time we had there. > Neither of the ceiling fans were of any use. They either ran very, very slowly having no effect, or flat out, which was difficult. I believe a 'work order' is in place to have the wall mounted control units replaced as they had seized, which will be good. Remotes would be nicer :-) Hence, having a quiet air cond helped, as we had to sleep with it on. > Wi-fi was only reliable if you sat out on on the balcony. > A spring clean would just freshen things up e.g. dust down fan blades, louvres of room dividers etc. > A bedside light would be handy, but we managed.

The room was very clean and the views of the river were lovely. The bed was comfortable, and there was ample room for our luggage, and the bathroom was spacious. They are older resort rooms but very well renovated, and all areas outside are well maintained. Aircon has heating and cooling. Balcony accommodates outside smoking. Staff were lovely.

Only 1 laundry we could access on the ground level but was very far from our room, and after 5 days on the road travelling when we arrived, it was easier to go to a more affordable laundry in surfers with convenient parking to do our large pile of laundry. Wasn't always easy to find a carport in the underground carport and you have to just drive around and do laps of an enormous carport yo find the carports that are open to paying guests all the rest are for private residents. Would be good if they had a map of where the open parks are.

quiet island, close to everywhere, free parking,swimming pool and spa is amazing

cleaning is main problem, most furnitures need be replaced. the bed is small, just double bed, sofa is extremely dirty, I mean it was cleaned before we arrived, but some strange spots were still on it, thankfully we brought blanket and sheets. the last one, the reception staff need be retrained. no smile, no idea to the keys he gave me.

The location was amazing 2minute walk to tram station and the centre of surfers paradise. Manager was very friendly. Room was much bigger than expected. There was a spa, pool and plunge pool all very nice. Amazing for the price would definitely stay here again

There was a few things like a hole in the bathroom door and vent above the stove could’ve been cleaned. Not the most cleanest but very liveable.

After reading others reviews I considered canceling my booking but the hotel was actually really impressive for the price, helpful staff, nice lobby, easy after hours entry, ample parking, wide hallways, the rooms are very old but have clean sheets and towels, bed was not great fairly cheap mattress but okay, decent outlook, resort looking entrance with lots of palms. I’m returning this weekend because I felt comfortable there and it’s so affordable!

Very spacious room with a nice settee to relax on and watch some TV. Set in a beautiful location with good security and parking. Bed was OK and roomy.

The little but essential things were missing. There was microwave (great) but no cutlery or plates for food eaten in room. There was no flannel, shampoo, conditioner etc in the bathroom. Would not cost much to supply these or let people know that they need to bring their own.
