McNevins Maryborough Motel

Comfy. Lots of space in the rooms for our tribe to run around.

Lady running the hotel saw her broken restaurant door swing wildly shut on me, slamming itself and dislodging its hinges but instead of thinking her door might be dangerously broken, she decided to yell at me about it. "What ya doing to my door! Don't break it!" as if I had anything to do with its dangerously wild springing that nearly took me out. I asked back, "the hell do you think i did to your door that would make it do that?" the springs/hydraulic (??) were malfunctioning o something. It was a sour breakfast after that. ALSO, long wait times

I'm thinking this would have been Maryborough's flashest motel back in the day, its been well looked after. The aircon worked, the room was a good size and clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot. Which ticks all my boxes.

Had dinner with friends in the restaurant, we were a table of 10, the only other customers was a table of maybe 14. The other table seemed to get well looked after, we waited an hour before the entrees arrived. Food was great, waiters were great, but the chairs started to become uncomfortable after sitting in them for a couple of hours.

Location is excellent. We accessed both the Breakfast cafe and Dinner Room service from the Restaurant, in both cases the food was excellent and the service exceptional. Undercover parking for car is an attraction. Room is a good size. We used a Small Family Room.

Some maintenance and updating needed in bathroom. Sink needs a high necked outlet to enable you to get a jug or water bottle under it to fill with water. Bar fridge was old and just kept things cold.

Great motel room, well sized and priced. Room came with microwave, toaster, kettle and a good quality hairdryer (not a big deal for some, but much appreciated by me). In a great location for walking about 15 minutes walk to supermarket, shops, aquatic centre and sight seeing areas. Breakfast was delicious (particularly the avocado and fetta smash and the coffee ).

Housekeeping were a bit too enthusiastic trying to get into my room 2 hours before check-out (3 attempts by 3 different people). In retrospect I should have put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door.

The room was large and comfortable, very clean . The pool area was fantastic. The cafe for breakfast the next day was okay. We will stay there again, we might just plan a little differently next time.

Unfortunately, the room had a strange odor that wouldn't go away. The restaurant was closed on a Saturday night, which was disappointing. The cafe was overpriced for the offerings for breakfast x

unfortunatley i was very unwell during the entirety of the stay and stayed in my room the whole time the room was clean and kept well all though blankets could have been warmer. When i was able to access room service the food was fantatstic . The pineapple granita was A-MAZING i could eat a bucket of that stuff

called room service and noone answered i must of called outside hours all though they arent mentioned that i noticed in the book in the room

Considering that the building and facilities are somewhat dated. They are impeccably maintained and comfortable. I did the finger test along the top of the mirror and top of cabinets and doors and not an ounce of dust. Everything was spotless and smelled fresh. The water temperature and pressure was also very good.

Ever so slight issue I would correct would be to find out if guests are smokers or non smokers. And have smokers on upper floors and non smokers on ground so that the smoking on balconies does not affect non smokers above.

At late notice, the staff accommodated our car and trailer and gave us a room with a super comfy king sized bed! Husband said it was the “best sleep he’d had in weeks”. Spacious room, massive TV, clean, well appointed. Perfect place to stay after 2 days on the road from Cairns. We’re very grateful.

We found it a little odd there was no kitchen sink (only the bathroom one). Didn’t matter to us in the larger scheme of things. Everything else made up for this minor inconvenience.

The room was great size for three adults. Parking bays were great size for my 4wd. Beds were pretty comfy and the room was lovely and clean. I like that it has a restaurant for dinner and a cafe for breakfast.

Queen bedhead was really squeaky on the left hand side - every time I rolled over, everyone woke up! I phoned the day before to see if I could check in that day and was told "No we're full" but there was still vacancies online up until late that night. I decided not to travel one day early so didn't need it in the end.

We travelled for an orchid show so the accommodation was close to where the show was. We had breakfast at the cafe which was fantastic. My smashed avo was delicious. Dinner at the restaurant was also delicious. The staff at both were very nice and made sure we were happy with our meals. They are a credit to their employer.

The only thing I can think of is where our room was we had light shine in at night. This was from the carpark at the back of us.
