From the warm welcome from Jude/Judy, I settled in quickly. From the Front Reception desk to the restaurant staff, I was very well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Jude even helped me out, an hour before opening & on her day off!!!! It had all the amenities I needed & is THE perfect location & so central. You can walk 10-15 mins to anywhere: a supermarket, the VBD, cafes & great restaurants & tourist places of interest. The laundry service was also handy. The information sheets given to me on arrival was very handy. The restaurant quality of food & personal, knowledgeable service was a treat!! I hope Louis gains more recognition for his skill in the wider Launceston area. A lot of character & old world charm in this hotel.👍🏼

Nothing I did not like.☺️ However, it would be handy if the restaurant served breakfast as well as dinner. The cleaners need to maybe check all cutlery & glass ware in the fridge to ensure past tourists haven’t left them dirty.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Launceston Grand Hotel. The reception staff and handyman were always so helpful and committed to customer service! The room itself was very spacious and clean. A very great location and walking distance from many amazing places including the harvest markets. Would definitely recommend this place to stay in Launceston

There was a spider on my son's pillow and he woke up in the middle of the night with a fright about it. We had to inform reception and the place was promptly sprayed while we were out for the day.

This was a lovely renovated historic complex with beautiful decor. James was very courteous and helpful. There was free parking and our room had its own allotted space right at the front door (pro tip : ask for Room 48!). The rooms were spacious with lots of thoughtful touches, such as a coffee machine, felt around the front door to help soundproof, ease of check in and check out. There was a spa in the large bathroom. The Commercial hotel just a block away was handy for pub food.

We were there on Saturday afternoon and Sunday so everything was closed. It was hard to find just a nice little Cafe for Sunday brunch within walking distance. Plenty of places around but closed on Sundays. This was the only negative and not the hotel's fault!

The Hotel is nicely located in the CBD and the room is exceptionally wonderful. Huge room, clean, and child friendly and most of all you can go back to experience the life of probably the elite people of the older times. Very different from the modern hotels that are tiny, or small spaces. In addition, the Staff is kind, accommodating and extremely helpful and even gave us a map to help us find different areas or locations to see. Amazing experience and what a beautiful place and people to welcome us. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely love to come back and stay here and explore the City more.

We have to leave the place.😭

Our rooms in the stables were extremely spacious and comfortable. We had everthing we needed and a great shower. The staff went out of their way with friendly assistance. The hotel is just down the road from City Park and a a great cafe for breakfast and pubs for dinner. We loved our stay.

We would have liked some drinks but needed to book dinner to have them. We found a great pub with really good meals. The stairs to our room were a challenge for my sister's sore knee but the manager carried up our bags for us with a smile. Great service.

Our “Deluxe Twin Room” could have been booked as a family room, having a single, a queen and a king bed all in place. The finishing details were superb with very comfortable mattresses. Granite bench tops on the kitchenette and the bathroom benches, inlaid solid wood cupboard doors and desk/table. It was well appointed with all our needs attended to. Friendly, helpful staff made it easy for us to access the room after Reception had closed for the night (we had pre-paid) and leave when ready next morning. Off street car parking came with the room. It was almost all we could ask for. The spa looked very enticing, but we weren’t game with our arthritic knees!

Only two aspects to improve: power points beside each bed to allow overnight phone charging while being able to access the phone while in bed; the chesterfield couch was uncomfortable for one of us till we brought the bedroom chair over to act as a footstool - then it was vey comfortable!

Great rooms with a comfortable ambience that made me feel at home. Loved the location. Loved our tiny balcony. A little bit of city noise but that was because we slept with the balcony doors open, enjoying that fresh Tassie air! I was in town for an eye operation and spent one of the two days with very limited vision and felt so comfortable there. Lots of parking. Walking distance to parks, restaurants, venues & shops.

Thinking hard, but no, can't come up with any reasonable negatives. :)

We stayed in the Stables and were upgraded from a Deluxe Queen to a Deluxe Spa Queen which was a lovely surprise. The room was very spacious and well set out with a sitting area by the window, a chest of drawers (tv on top which could be moved so as to be visible from bed or couch), large desk, two very solid and sizeable luggage storage areas which could also be used as seating, a huge wardrobe (walk-in) with a safe, iron, ironing board, hanging area and shelving and a "kitchenette" area with a fridge, coffee machine, kettle, cupboards and more storage under the bench. The bathroom was also huge with a double vanity, excellent bench area, cupboards and drawers in the vanity unit, complimentary toiletries, a lovely big shower with a door (love a shower with a door as the water doesn't splash everywhere and you stay warm!) as well as a spa bath for those who like that kind of thing. It really was very well set out and set up and would be easily suitable for a longer stay. The hotel is in an excellent location within very easy walking distance to City Park and downtown Launceston with its many restaurants and has the added bonuses of its own sizeable off-street car park and being on level ground (Launceston has some incredibly steep streets). There is a very pleasant sitting area out behind Reception and next to Luz Restaurant which has a wonderful menu. We came back to Luz and had delicious desserts to finish off our evening with friends who were also staying at the hotel. All-in-all, an excellent stay and would highly recommend The Grand Hotel Launceston!

The room could have been elevated further with more pictures on the walls and the shower could do with being re-tiled with tiles that are more contemporary. There was a bit of noise from people banging car doors closed in the car park so the room was not particularly sound-proofed but that was a very, very minor detail.
