Apollo Bay Waterfront Motor Inn

Apollo Bay Waterfront Motor Inn is in a perfect spot in Apollo Bay. Our twin room upstairs apartment overlooked the main road and the balcony accessed from the lounge had a view of the ocean. There was enough parking close to the apartment entrance. The bedrooms were comfortable and very clean. Plenty of towels and toiletries in the shower room and well equipped kitchen/diner/lounge area. Hosts were friendly and welcoming and were happy to suggest places to visit during our stay as well as local restaurant recommendations. We were even given help to carry our luggage up the stairs to the apartment.

2 lovely rooms, large and super clean, ideal kitchen facilities and everything you needed for your stay. Metal steps up to access the top floor and car parking by the room. Laundry facilities were awesome and we made use of those. good central location to all the shops and cafes. Lots of lovely clean fluffy towels and toiletries were great. Really liked what they had put in place for towel replacement, provided a linen basket with note to say leave outside room when clean towels were needed and they would replace them, great idea to avoid access to rooms for covid i guess

Lovely place to stay right across the road from the beach. Very comfortable Queen size bed and comfy pillows too, we both slept like logs all 3 nights. I was specifically looking for a room with a spa as it was our 2 year anniversary and wanted something a little romantic yet budget friendly and this room did not disappoint! It was an excellent price for the fact that you got your own private spa plus being directly across the road from the beach as well as walking distance to the shops and restaurants in town. I spent quite a long time comparing other places to stay with spas and this place earned my number 1 spot easily as it ticked all the boxes and then some, with a great price tag to boot. The room was lovely and clean, neat, a good size and well styled. Tv (with Netflix? Unless the previous people forgot to log or out or something!) Kettle, microwave, fridge, couch, table and chairs (both inside and out). Definitely recommend Waterfront Motor Inn!

Only thing I'd recommend is to maybe bring your own shampoo and conditioner but that's nitpicking!

We arrived quite late but everything was prepared for us along with an information booklet of the motel. The entire check-in and check-out experience was quite seamless. Everything in the room is well thought out, the heater was already switched on as we walked in and each bed had an electric blanket which was much appreciated on a cold rainy night.

No real negatives from our stay but if I had to nitpick, I'd say it was hard to spot the entrance to the carpark when we arrived at 8pm as there was no real signage apart from the word "Reception". It wouldn't have been an issue if we arrived during the day but at night, with no street lights, it was a bit hard to spot.

(please mind my spelling. I am dyslexic) Kim from reception absolutely Made Our Stay. Not only was she incredibly kind, but she took care of us and helped us so much that went Far Beyond the responsibilities of her job description (we arrived before reception was open, parked our car and went to the pub for a few Hours ... I Realised on the wall back that I'd lost my keys ... I left them IN THE DOOR OF MY CAR FOR ANYONE TO TAKE!!!. but Kim kept her eye on everything from her desk, made a few calls to see if she could track down who owned the car and stayed back until we came back). I have a chronic health condition that means Stress can make me Very Ill. Kim went above and beyond to ground me. She was thoughtful and approachable, gave us a good old giggle and was just the sweetest person I have ever met. Kim alone is reason enough to return. Our room was so clean and smelt divine. The bathroom was spotless and the spabath was Just What I Needed! The bed was so comfy that we didn't want to leave. And the location makes it perfect for a gentle stroll either to the beach right across the road, or the amazing restaurants, cafe's and pub.

There was nothing we could fault at this stay and will Absolutely be back again..

Although we were only in transit the welcome from reception was really great and the reassurance that the heater was already on was fabulous. It had been very, very cold and blustery day and the warmth in the room was sooo nice! The room was pristine and well equipped to do an easy breakfast in the morning. The collapsible dish tub was a nifty idea - very clever. All in all a lovely stay and good recommendations for an evening meal.

We have absolutely no complaints! A wish list to notch things up even more would be a coffee pod machine but seriously a good coffee is only steps away! I can imagine such a machine would be too much of a temptation for people to take.

That day, The weather was rainy, wet and cold and Deb Tovey had turned on the air conditioning in the room a few hours beforehand to pre-heat the room. When we arrived, she took us to the door of our accommodation in the rain. We were then given details of the location of the most popular local restaurant. The room was very tidy, with all the amenities very good and electric blankets on the bed. Very comfortable to sleep at night. The accommodation felt comfortable and felt like home. Also, parking was right in front of the room which was very convenient. The hotel faces the beach and has a great view. Thanks again Deb Tovey!

Service was SPECTACULAR! I requested for a change in linen due to a lady "incident" and it was done quickly without any additional cost! They were GENEROUS and QUICK! We managed to change our towels too. Check-in was EASY! Bed was COMFORTABLE! Facilities were ON POINT! If you intend to wash your clothes there, just be prepared to have loads of coins / money as the washing machine and dryer requires money. Though they do not have a heater in our rooms but they have electric blankets + a heater in the lounge room. Petrol station was 2 minutes walk away. Shops and Food were within the vicinity of 5 minutes walk. It was really CONVENIENT!

I cannot think of anything bad about these place, really! Perhaps some of the cons were: (1) Not much of a view as we took the Garden Apartment. We will definitely give the Sea View Apartment a try next time. (2) Perhaps having a dishwashing sponge will make cleaning the dishes easier! That's all! But thank you Deb for making our stay an extremely enjoyable and comfortable one! It will be great if it was pet-friendly! :(

Summary: (1) Very clean; (2) Excellent location; and (3) Beautifully landscaped. We have stayed in many motels during our travels and this one is the best one ever! Cleanliness: very very clean, well appointed with quality fixtures such as full block out, proper curtains, leather couch, firm bed, warm quilt with new, super white linen. The room must have also been sound proofed as we had people in the rooms around us and we hardly heard them. Location: the apartments are on the main road, directly opposite the beach. Our ground floor, garden apartment, (no 2), had a slight sea view too due to an opening between the beach shrubs. It was so nice to sit outside on our little garden patio and relax to the sound of the waves crashing. The shops are all within walking distance, maybe a 2 minute, flat walk and is next door to a Mobil petrol station for any essentials (I noticed they stocked Panadol/paracetamol too) but just don't drink their $2 coffee as it's grossly watered down. Landscaping - the whole property is beautifully landscaped and there is a touch of greenery everywhere you go. It's a beautiful touch that adds to the whole experience of one's stay. Parking was very easy and property was spacious. BONUS: agree with the other reviewer - this motel is trying to be environmentally friendly. They offer a recycling bin in your room and shampoo/conditioner/soap on tap rather than in tiny disposable bottles. They also use ''Thank You'' liquid soap, a not for profit brand that exist to help people in poverty. This was so nice to see.

Maybe a shower curtain around the shower-in-bath combo. Although not a lot of water went astray, it felt odd.

My parents and I enjoyed our one night stay at the hotel. We arrived just as they were setting up for the late arrivals and we were able to get the full run down on property amenities and restaurant recommendations. We all slept really well in the dark, quiet room after a day of driving from Melbourne, and were grateful for such a comfortable stay. We could have easily stayed another night or two if we weren't continuing our journey. Highly recommend!
