It all went well, room, staff all excellent

I know that Ronnies is probably not part of the hotel as such, but we were in Melbourne for a wedding, after a registry service we had lunch and then went our own ways, 4 living at the hotel and 4 visiting, we decided to book at Ronnies. We were very disappointed when we were told by Ronnies staff that 8 or more must have a set menu starting at $80 PP, and no, we could not change it, I think one part was Cod Mousse, I mean really. We went 200 meters up Collins Street and had a meal at the Sherlock Holmes pub, fantastic variety on menu and the whole night including drinks was $380, compared to the compulsory $640 for their set menu plus drinks. They must lose a lot of business with that stupid rule.

It was close to a great pizza place and gin distillery that’s walking distance. It was very clean. Showers nice and hot. Parking easy and free. Quiet. Provided some basic kitchen and dining items so we could reheat leftovers easily and make tea/coffee.

It was similar to a motel. Which is not my favorite style of hotel but it worked out fine. The door is steps away from the cars parking so it could be loud with cars leaving or coming and the lights on outside were really bright all night and the curtains could not cover every inch so there was bright light coming thru.

Was like walking into a apartment rather than a std motel room. Very large accom, with loads of room to feel at home. Wonderful spacious bathroom, with spa bath. Very clean. One could say the decor is slightly outdated, but it really didn't matter. I could choose to eat at the lounge/coffee table watching TV, or at the counter on a chair. That's more than I expected from a motel room! The fridge was mini fridge, but its freezer effectively froze our 10 ice bricks so winner. Air con worked excellent, which I need as I'm always hot at night. Very friendly staff and easy late check in with key left under the front door mat. Beds and pillows were very comfy. And I'm fussy.

Everything was good. Even the funny area to make tea/coffee was enjoyable.

The room was spacious enough for a family of 3. The location is the best offering walking distance to the park, beach, restaurants and shops. The beds were comfortable with enough spare pillows provided and we all had a good sleep. The bathroom was of a good size and the water pressure of the shower was reasonable making it somewhat enjoyable for a hot shower in the middle of winter. There were plenty of power points with usb ports available(including a wireless charger/digital alarm clock) so you don’t have to bring additional equipments to charge your electronic devices.

Very spacious and clean accomodation, close proximity to the main street yet so quiet. Really lovely staff especially the Sri Lankan lady at the reception who provided a warm welcome and lots of information about activities to do in and around the area. Will definitely come back and stay here in the future.

Central to the town, parking on site, spacious room and bathroom. Good breakfast cafe next door, shops within minutes and beach directly opposite.

Paths to each room directly in front of bedroom so noisy neighbours just stood and shouted to each other rather than go inside! Not the hotel's fault bit poor soundproofing meant you knew when the neighbours where in, out or up! No plug for hand basin which meant couldn't conserve water as requested.

We were given a spacious, clean and comfortable room and were very happy with the bedding and facilities provided. The lady at reception was very courteous and helpful and pointed out that there was a key drop box for an early checkout. The location is very convenient and the property is easy to find. Parking was right outside our door, so the car was easy to unload and pack the next morning. There is even a guest laundry available.

Nothing, would stay here again.

Lots of room, good TV and great location. Friendly reception staff and everything was ( mostly ) clean. Next to the brewhouse and gin distillery. Clearly someone has picked up this old building and put a bit of love and care into it, to turn it into a great motel. Great find.

Bathroom windows could be a bit cleaner and the bathroom itself too, but it's an older building so it's forgiveable. Fairly pricey considering it's a motel. But the location dictates the rates I guess. Overall very satisfied.

Brief stay during the great ocean road running festival. Really appreciated the generous sized room and easy climate control (toasty warm for the chilly evenings). There was an area between the main room and bathroom that functioned as luggage storage (rack, cupboard) as well as a bench for make up or morning snacks with bar stools, as well as a bar fridge. Plenty of lovely bathroom amenities and lots of hot water (following a run in cool windy weather). Free wifi was great.

The shower has a curtain that billows a lot - hard to avoid spilling water. Windows in the living area faced a street and was next to a footpath so we often saw people walking past - had to keep the curtains closed for privacy even if we wanted the natural light to brighten the room. Definitely not dealbreakers, just observations.

The service provided by the staff was exceptional. We had been doing the Great Ocean Walk but got rained out and the staff went out of their way to help accommodate us at the last minute at the start of our walk. Ended up staying four nights across the week we were in the area while we adjusted our plans to cope with the disrupted trek, which we ended up doing more via car than via foot.

It is motel style accommodation so not full blown kitchen facilities, but we didn't expect them, so it wasn't a problem at all.
