The Malcolm Hotel

Amazing mountain view room on the top floor. Facilities are overall excellent. Beautiful neighborhood and nice location. Convenient indoor parking.

- The refundable price was much higher than non-refundable price, so we booked the non-refundable, but we wish to have more flexibilities with the trip and if we have a choice we will book similar hotel with a flexible cancellation. - Staff in general don't fit the standard of the hotel, not very welcoming and the front desk had a hard time to comprehend our requests. - Restaurant especially the breakfast is overpriced. $35 for a buffet is on the higher end all over Canada and there aren't that many choices.

Well-located just a few minutes walk from the centre of Canmore, which is a great alternative to Banff (fewer restaurants etc, but quieter and surrounded by even better scenery). Great bar with sport screens and restaurant. Go for a room with balcony if you can - though the basic rooms are pricey enough!

There was no laundry service provided by the hotel, but we were able to use the service wash ($25 for overnight) at the excellent Canmore Sunshine Laundrette. They notified me they would take payment in full at some point in the six months till arrival day but took it almost immediately!

Great Location. Super views Quick and efficient check in. Lovely room with pool and mountain views. Spacious and super well equipped. Large fridge with spacious tea/coffee making area. Nice walk in shower with the most beautiful fluffy white bath sheets. Premium Toiletries. Very comfortable beds and mixed firmness pillows. Loads of storage space and free to use safe. Well deserved of the high rating scores. Must mention the two receptionist who were the most friendliest, helpful and super efficient, Pearl and Rose, a credit to the hotel!

Reception staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is spotlessly clean and nicely decorated/furnished. The best thing for us and one of the main reasons for booking was the pool/hot tub area - really lovely and spectacular views - a great place to unwind after a big day exploring! We loved Canmore itself and the hotel is in a great location for getting to the restaurants and shops. Also convenient for getting into the highway to Banff National Park.

The hotel is nosiey at night which isn’t helped by the paper thin walls. We were surprised by this as upon checking in you have to sign a document agreeing to a number of things including no noise after 10pm. We were on floor 2 and all night every night we heard noise from the floor above (sounded like someone moving furniture around?!) as well as noisey drunken people in the corridor from a wedding on the first night we stayed. There were also a couple of details missing for what you’d expect from a luxury hotel such as robes. It’s a shame the noise and the small details let this otherwise amazing place down.

Beautiful location, amazing mountain views. Outdoor hot tubs and pool!! Incredible rain fall shower. Stylish and clean. Note for our anniversary with a small plate of 2 cookies, 2 fudge pieces and 1 chocolate strawberry. Love the nespresso machine, so amazing to have a great cup of coffee in the morning while in the hot tub. The location is super amazing and convenient.

The pillows are terrible, for a king size bed you need 2 large pillows not a bunch of small ones. The bed was very comfy though. The doors closed so quickly and could easily squish your hand or fingers it in.

All staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect to explore the town by walking or on bike. It was also centrally located to the other things to see in the area.

The only thing I can think of that could have improved my stay was if staff had offered some initial recommendations of what the hotel had to offer on site, I struggled to find the pool and roof top deck as well as what things if any were complementary.

This is by far the best vacation getaway hotel i’ve ever been to. The views from the hotel is breathtaking. Property is clean, excellent amenities and the lobby itself brought you to a fantastic old time charm. Rooms were immaculate, clean and perfect. Staff are extremely efficient,helpful and pleasant( lost something valuable and they go above and beyond searching it for me. I am forever grateful for all the staff that helped me). Thank you Malcolm for an awesome experience, will recommend this hotel to all my colleagues and will for sure book again here for another vacation getaway.

The location of this hotel and the views are unmatched by any other hotel in Canmore. The Malcolm is within walking distance of main street and many hotels and restaurants. You have 360 views of the mountains, including a stunning view of The Three Sisters mountains from the hot tub and pool area. The hotel is beautifully decorated and provides a very relaxing atmosphere for a weekend getaway.

While I loved that this hotel is pet friendly, the pet supplies provided are for dogs much smaller than our large dog. Consider bringing your own bowls and bed for a dog larger than 20 lbs as everything provided is quite small.

View from room was amazing and it was a big clean room - very comfortable. Wifi was good.

Breakfast was disappointing and the waitress wasn’t able to communicate basic allergy protocol well. Apparently the kitchen use the same fryer for cashew nuts and potatoes which is a bit disconcerting for someone with a nut allergy. The hotel and stay was really good - this was the only negative.

Fabulous views from our room and wonderful pool area. Room was very comfortable and high spec. Great location in Canmore.

Frustrating check in. We arrived early and quite understandably room not ready, but when we returned after 4pm we were informed room still not ready. No solution offered, just repeated message that room not ready 😕 finally got our room just before 5pm
