Argyll Plaza Hotel

The staff is incredible. Everyone is extremely helpful, friendly and we felt so welcome. We felt at home. We were there for SuperFriendly fest and the location made it uniquely possible to meet so many people from our favorite bands and made for a wild weekend. Also very helpful to have laundry there because we definitely needed it lol. The rooms are huge and we had A/C and a great view of the downtown core. Whyte Ave is walking distance but we only did that once before discovering the scooters parked all over the area to rent. Also, Billy Buds next door has amazing food that's super affordable and the sushi and pizza places in the hotel plaza are awesome as well.

The beds were a bit too soft for us but that might be personal preference and the rooms had some spots that could use some extra housekeeping TLC but for the price and the staff, we'll stay here again and again. Thankyou Argyll!

Convenient location. Although in an old building, the facilities are obviously well maintained. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast is nothing fancy but fresh (coffee/ tea, muffin, orange juice, cereal. Cold boiled eggs and yoghurts available. All self service style). Staff is courteous, helpful. Very good value for short business stay.

Bed mattress comfortable yet on the soft side. On a block that has seen better days (might be a bit intimidating at first but I felt safe). Location is convenient for south side of the city But not great if you plan to entertain. You need to drive to any decent restaurant.

The hotel is not new, we expected that, so no surprises here. I liked the spacious room and comfortable beds. The room was very clean. Variety of food for breakfast was limited, but muffins are tasty and we always found enough to eat and start the day not being hungry. All the receptionists were very friendly and helpful! Due to the weather conditions (very smoky air) we had to leave 1 day earlier and we received refund for that night. That was very nice.

One night heater was too noisy and woke us up.

The Bed was great, the room was clean and the bathroom was spotless I do recommend staying there especially if you have your own a car for mobility, didnt take the bus but the place was great.

need more variety for breakfast ate only one time there then cooked in the room, cant use anything while the AC is on or i will blow up the breaker and the kitchen need more stuff had only one fork in a room for 4

This is an excellent budget hotel. The staff are super friendly and helpful with whatever it is you need to make your stay as good as possible. From the front desk to the cleaning staff, they are among the best I've ever come across. Thank-you all! The hotel is dated, yes, but my room spacious and clean with a great updated bathroom. The continental breakfast is somewhat sparse, but it's all fresh and enough to start your day off right. The best bang for your buck!

The WiFi is really not great, but it does work.

If you dig a vintage vibe, the Argyll is a hidden gem! The staff were amazingly kind and friendly, the rooms were clean, and the beds were SO comfy. We didn't hear other guests at all, which was pretty surprising, as we were there for a punk rock music festival with a lot of other folks. We thought it would be noisy, but the building must have great soundproofing. I would absolutely stay there again!

The shower curtain could have done with replacing, it was definitely near the end of its life. There was a fabric sofa in the room that I wouldn't have sat on for... reasons, but that really goes for any fabric furniture in any hotel.

Pretty clean room, the beds were comfortable. The check in and check out as easy with super friendly staff. Great location has everything you could need or want nearby! If youree attending an event at Union Hall this place is perfect. Great value for the coat. Will stay again for sure!

Could be a bit cleaner for sure, the walls were kinda gross, and the fridge had old food in the tracks bit otherwise great. For the price though it's not really a complaint more of a suggestion.

I love how spacious the room was, and the AC unit worked fantastic. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Bed was actually pretty comfy and had a lot of pillows which I loved. For the price this place is well worth the stay. The strip mall its on top of has a subway and convenience store.

Parking was a bit annoying, it's on top of a popular strip mall so during the day I had to park pretty far away. The drawers in my room kept opening, I had to place chairs in from so I wouldn't trip over them. It's accessibility could be improved, the doors didn't have an auto opener and the ramp to get on the sidewalk to get to the hotel was too steep. Also lugging my bags up steps to get in wasn't fun.

Very friendly staff, we originally booked one night but ended up asking for a second night. We didn’t have to move rooms luckily! We also accidentally overslept through our checkout time and they were very understanding. I don’t remember the lady who checked us in’s name but she had red hair and glasses and was working Sunday evening & was just absolutely awesome. Large, clean room. AC worked very well! pet friendly. Thanks for the hospitality! :)

All staff were very friendly, but not overly intrusive. The rooms were very clean, housekeeping was awesome. The place was easy to find with decent parking and nearby amenities.

The beds were too comfy. I overslept. Wifi was slow. I was unable to maintain a stable video call. Neighbouring rooms made a ton of noise. Mostly drunk yelling in the hallways and dogs barking. I also saw a guest that smelled strongly of marijuana verbally harassing (flirting uncomfortably at, not with) the front desk attendant. The attendant seemed super uncomfortable and didn’t seem to know what to do. Perhaps a staff training for how to handle intoxicated/flirtatious/noisy guests would be in order. I felt bad for the crap the staff had to deal with.
