Matrix Hotel

•the STAFF! Debra & the lovely girl with the colorful hair (so sorry I’ve forgotten your name) •the RESTAURANT! Arnel, Corinna & Retial in the evening. Sophia, Jerilyn & Raymond in the morning. The complimentary breakfast is like nothing you’ve seen and the complimentary glass of wine in the evening followed by a fantastic meal absolutely made our stay. Thanks for spoiling us and we look forward to seeing you all the next time we find ourselves in Edmonton!

The suites are fantastic but it’s the people who make the property!

The Reception Staff was excellent, there was a problem with my initial Reservation, but the Front Office Staff made the problem go away and I was grateful for their inguienity. My suite was very clean and had everything I needed. We went to the Oilers game at Rogers , 18 minute walk, but opted for a cab for $7. The room was nicely furnished I drive a large truck and didn't find parking to be a problem, parking spots sre tight but once I parked, either walked or took a Cab. Breakfast was so/so but free

Location: close to places we wanted to go to, Avis/Budget car rental is around the corner. Hotel: Rooms are clean and nice, beds are comfortable, in suite coffee is very good, Amenities: the breakfast (included) was very good and a great way to start the day. It had been a few years since we had to stay in downtown Edmonton. The last time, we had stayed at The Matrix and loved it. This visit did not disappoint! We would definitely stay there again!

There were no dislikes about the property in our group.

This was my first stay at hotel by myself. I live just down the street. I needed a place to get away from the disaster that was happening in my condo. I arrived early and they found a room that was ready for me which was totally unexpected because I was willing to wait in the lobby until my room was ready. I just needed to get out of the heat. But then they found a room so THANK YOU! It has been a very rough week and I needed that. I got a good nights sleep and the king bed was excellent. I didn't leave the room the whole of Thursday. Got up Friday and enjoyed a hearty breakfast. Oh yah that bathtub... I had a lovely soak for the 1st time in years (my tub is a baby compared to yours). I may be back in September with my best friend to celebrate our 30th Anniversary and her 50th birthday. So thank you Matrix you made all my anxieties go away for awhile.

I was by the ice machine ... took me awhile to figure out what the noise was, freaked me out a bit. That's about it.

Hospitality of the staff and even though we stayed for a few days, housekeeping made sure that every day they get to clean our suite while we're out. We didn't need to ask for that.

We did not like the thought that payment for parking was per day. Usually, parking is free or a one-time payment. But I guess a part of their parking is owned by impark. $30 a day is too much, especially when you really won't be staying in the hotel and mostly be out the whole time of your stay.

A really nice hotel with a “boutique feel” to it. Comfortable, well appointed rooms with a modern, yet warm look. On site parking. Close to restaurants - including Envie Restaurant which is connected to the hotel. Although we would have preferred a bit more central location, we were still able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, including beautiful paths along the river. We took our car out only once to go to the popular West Edmonton Mall which was about 20 minutes away. Breakfast choices were varied and delicious. Enjoyed the great cappuccino! Staff was helpful with directions and other advice.

No quite as central to downtown as we would have liked.

Cordial front desk and housekeeping staff. Spacious and mostly clean room. Spotless loo. Comfy and clean bed. Close to eateries. Nice view from the room’s window. Good hairdryer and shower.

Loo was less spacious. Wifi needs to be connected more than once in a day. Room carpet between table below tv and work desk could be better cleaned.

The room was lovely. The beds were so very comfortable. The breakfast was so good. We went for dessert and a drink Saturday night on the Loft patio... my apologies but I can't remember our server's name, he was the only one there so I'm sure you can figure it out. He was LOVELY so polite and accommodating.

My friend came from out of town (I live in Edmonton and she's from Calgary) and had to park which was fine, but I wasn't told how much it would cost until she showed up. It kinda ticked me off. Other than that, all went well.

Nice convenient location near a transit station and Jasper Avenue, a lot of places were a walkable distance. Free breakfast each morning was good quality.

The charging facilities were the other side of the room, so I had to alternate charges a lot which was frustrating. The bathroom was a bit basic for a modern hotel, and one of the lifts stopped working on my last day.

Breakfast was outstanding, room was clean and very comfortable. The coffee selection and water in the room were appreciated and nice touches to have.

Our room was next to the elevator and could be heard quite clearly. Fortunately at night, it wasn't used as often and didn't affect our sleep. The parking fee was extra, and although the website stated that, it would have been helpful at the time of booking to know how much it would be. I expected it to be between $12-$20/day and it was $25/day.
