hallway is stinky and not clean , Visible garbage been there and not clean , smell is so bad . They should clean and removed those garbage and dust

Location is excellent, don't think you could better it. Far enough from downtown to feel a bit peaceful, but close enough that it is a short bus ride or 2km walk. Close to beach for sunset, and Stanley Park for a walk or bike ride. Close to Downtown connecting bus routes, and the local bus to Capilano Bridge and Grouse mtn. Also it's great to have a kitchenette with a full-size fridge for self-catering - although there are many different cafes and restaurants along Denham st to choose from as well.

The rooms at the rear look onto an apartment block ~ 50m away - not terrible, but it would be good to have a sheer curtain or blind to stop them seeing in, but still have light in the room. And it should be cheaper for the rear rooms - bit unfair to pay the same as the rooms at the front, that have a sea view.

Last May we stayed at this hotel for its location and price. Returning this year we found not only our expectations met but an even better experience than we could have hoped. The hours of English Bay sunsets, the very spacious room, the in-room kitchen facilities, the proximity to ocean front park/beach and restaurants made it feel like a resort with a retro feel

The parking requires using stairs for wheeled suitcases and our stroller... but that's dealt with easily by taking everything in the main entrance with only the driver having to use the stairs. The parking felt very secure.

This was my third time staying at English Bay Hotel. Why do I come here? First, you cannot beat the location. It's a block away from the beach and close to all the shops and restaurants. Second - The price is great for what you get (rooms are spacious and there's a kitchen. Third - it's clean and is stocked with plenty of toiletries and towels. Other: There's parking on-site, but we always use the neighborhood parking. The front desk person was really accommodating and let us check-in early which was really appreciated bc my partner pulled his back muscle and needed to lay down. There's also AC in the room, which was nice (meant I could close the window to drown out street noise). Is the hotel out-dated and does the hallway smell musty? Yes, but for everything I just mentioned, those two things don't bother me. :)

We liked the room, location and the facilities. The asian staff took care of us and guided us on all our questions

While checking in, we arrived early due to our flight schedule from Australia. We informed the property in advance. On arrival the staff mentioned that they can't give our room earlier than 3pm. We requested even if it becomes available few mins ago plz give it as we are coming from a 14 hour long flight. They refused saying its just not possible. We roamed around and came back at 2 30 and he mentioned room was not ready. We felt that he just didn't want to give the room even a minute earlier than 3 regardless if it's ready or not. I feel he could have been more accommodating in this situation. That's the only feedback. Rest our stay was good.

I really loved how the hotel room had a kitchenet! It made it easy to save money by going to a grocery store and getting some frozen meals. It also had a perfect location! There was tons of restaurants, grocery stores, malls, and other useful buildings near us. It also have bus routes right outside!

There was afew staff members who didn't really speak to us. We try to wave, and say Goodmorning and they just kindof stared at us. However our check in was wonderful! The gentlemen who checked us in was incredibly friendly and nice! Then our check out we had a very nice, friendly lady help us.

The bed was like a gentle hug, whispering us gently to bed. It was very surprising how comfy it was and we woke up so well rested. The bathroom gives a good shower - both hot and cold! We liked how spacious the room was. If you want to make sure you have a spot to sleep well and then get cleaned up for the rest of your stay in Vancouver, don't discount this spot.

The decor is quite dated unfortunately and the carpet makes it look dirtier than it really is. There are no extras like a gym, sauna or pool, but you can just go swimming in the pacific ocean.

The kitchen in the room was great, even if simple. Parking lot was affordable compared with options nearby. Room was big for two people. Room came with lots of soaps and shampoos. Kitchen and dishes were clean, so were the beds and chairs. Location was amazing, amongst tons of cool places and restaurants and a lot to do until around 11 PM.

It was confusing how parking would work before we got there so we had one person stay in the alley with the car while the other checked in. This was a minor inconvenience. Coffee was also pretty icky. TV was meh.

Very friendly elderly man (probably the hotel owner) was extraordinarily helpful and polite. He answered every request and made sure that we had an excellent stay. The room was HUGE, with a kitchen, a big bedroom, a great bathroom and a lot of places to store things. In detail, the room was equipped with a fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, stove, a lot of cutterly, bowls, plates, coffee maker, water boiler, two fans, a TV, as well as big and comfortable beds. They had a 24 hour open reception and served coffee and chocolate 24/7 in the lobby. Every guest could use the washing machines between 5 pm and 8 am for 2 CAD/machine. Also, we were allowed to store our luggage after checkout, which was highly appreciated. The hotel wasn't too fancy, but for the price, it was definitely the best alternative of them all. If I'll need a hotel in Vancouver, this hotel will definitely be on my list.)

I liked that the room had a little kitchenette, which allowed me to save a little bit by cooking for myself at breakfast and lunch. The room was definitely large enough having a double and a single bed just for me. It is an older hotel, but they keep it quite clean. The bathroom had been remodeled lately, and was very nice. the location is great, very close to the water, and so many food choices from around the world. a lot of different cultures in one little area. I will definitely stay there again.

At first the elevator wasn't working, and had to walk up three flights, but it was soon fixed, and all was good.
