Meaford Inn

It was a great location to the downtown Meaford area. Easy walking distance to the harbour and the restaurants, shops and library. Tilleys down the street is so convenient for breakfast. Thornbury is also a short drive away.

It would be nice to have a few hooks in the bathroom to hang your housecoat or even towels. The one set of hooks over the toilet was placed too high. It would be nice to have a raised toilet seat for senior travelers and I really think every bathtub should have grab bars. It would also have been nice to have a comfortable chair to sit on inside the room, The chairs outside on the balcony were a little tired and mismatched. It would improve the overall look of the motel if they purchased matching chairs. I really like this little motel and the owners. They are always so busy making improvements and very accommodating when I asked for a kettle, hairdryer and extra towels. Lovely people.

The Meaford Inn was wonderful from the moment we arrived with a warm greeting by the owner and his dog Daisy. The owner helped carry our luggage to our newly renovated room on the second floor and asked several times if we needed anything. We were staying three nights for Meafords Csnada Day celebrations at the harbour. The inn was situated perfectly for walking around town. We didn't use our car all weekend. The Red Door Pub attached to the inn was amazing. The food was exceptional. The selection of local craft beers was appreciiated. They had a variety of activities taking place over the weekend. Live entertainment on the patio, taro readings and trivia night. We will definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay a positive experience.

The location was in the center of everything. The beds were comfortable. Their pet mascot cat named Julian was adorable. The room was spacious enough. The owner was kind. The drive up was convenient. It was quiet there.

The flying ants somehow getting in to the bathroom and laying on the sink.

I have rated the location very highly, so I will give my criteria. For anyone not familiar with this area and surrounding areas, it's very tough to find motels in the this price range that are clean. I have stayed in some pretty gross places that on top of not being clean, had rude staff. While the outside of the building is worn and it's an older building, the rooms are very clean. The owner is really nice. The location is fantastic, and a huge selling point. The restaurant attached to the motel was great as well. This is listed as a one to 2 star motel when you look it up, which means you need realistic expectations. The rooms have the basics, and as mentioned are clean. If you are staying in this area, it's likely to check out all the sites and the room is a spot to crash for the night. If you plan on spending a lot of time sitting inside a motel room with family, you would likely be better off with a cottage rental or something. I feel the place definitely meets it's rating though, and it's location likely helps it exceed that. As a solo traveller who hikes in the area, I thought it was perfect.

This isn't the fault of the motel, but I stayed on a Sunday and I think that is pretty much the restaurant staffs Friday since they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. So they were having a good time on the patio until pretty late. I personally didn't care in the slightest, but it's likely something it would be good for people to be aware of if you are staying in a room close to the patio (I was). If they could clean up the exterior of the building a bit more (paint, some missing trim) it would really kick the place up a notch and match up with the cleanliness of the rooms.

I like the location close to the Harbour. Quiet nice little town. The person who checked us in was very nice guy. He could have been the owner. He told us if there's anything we need just knock on their door and ask for it. Our room was cleaned, very comfortable king size bed. It's also nice that there's a restaurant in front of the premises. Might be different owner but they have good food and the waitstaff who served us was nice girl. Her name is Francesca.

Simple but confortable, great bath tub, good staff, the town very pretty and people very welcoming...Georgous views by the lake...excellent food. I personally recomend Sheardowns Wine Bar. Exquisite dishes, exceptional wine and kind staff.

Meaford is too quite at nigth..nothing opened after 10:30. I would like a pool...but the place is nice.

Very clean and comfortable stay. Close, within walking distance to anything we needed. Small refrigerator was very helpful.

Very basic accommodations which were all we required for just an overnight stay. Towels could have been a bit larger and less worn but they were very clean.

Check in was great, staff very friendly. The room was clean and bed comfortable. Close to the water and downtown. We were there on Wednesday which is all you can eat ribs, and they were fall off the bone. Couldn’t finish a rack before they brought more out. Our waiter was excellent! We would stay again when back in the area for sure. Great value for the price of the stay.

Road construction going on which was a bit noisy but nothing the motel can do about that. It will be great when all of that is fixed. The out door patio could use some freshening up but not much use in doing that until the street is fixed.

Better than expected from the look of it from the road. Very clean and quaint. Husband and wife running it very friendly and available for any questions.

My bed was squeaky every time you turned over. My moms bed was fine.

Room was newly renovated and extremely clean. Close walking distance to downtown core and waterfront.

Lacking reception area but probably due to renovations. There were no coffee cups for the in room coffee machine. AC did not seem working to be working to full capacity. Construction on balcony railing commenced early in am.
