Hotel Anna

Great location very easy to get around as tram stops only a few minutes walk from the hotel. There were places to eat and a small supermarket a couple of streets away as well. It was very quiet at night in my room facing the courtyard. I found the single bed to be very comfortable and warm and I slept really well during my stay. The room had a large desk, a Tv, lots of storage space and a safe to store belongings. The bathroom was an ok size, the shower was nice and warm and had good water pressure and there was a heated towel rail. I saw other reviews say the hotel was dated but I thought it was nice and had a charm of its own. Also the WiFi was fantastic in my room. I thought the options at breakfast were great, a lot of variety, cereals, breads, yoghurts, cheese and ham, salad and hot items (bacon and eggs) one morning there were pancakes which were a highlight. They even had a small selection of gluten free items. Just past reception by the lift there was a hot drinks machine, the drinks were a Euro each and although small it was nice to have something to warm up after a day exploring.

There is no liquid soap for washing your hands and in my room the water in the sink was either very hot or very cold. One thing to note is that the breakfast room is down a flight of stairs so might not be the most accessible. There was also no hot chocolate at breakfast on my last morning.

Very pleasant and hospitable stuff. Very good location - in the center of the city, close to the tram station, bars, 10 minutes by tram to the central railway station, 15 minute walking to the Market square. Good breakfast - not very various, but satisfying and very fresh. Good private sauna (20 euro). I liked the atmosphere of old hotel (from 1930 year !)

It wasn't any kid's channels on TV. If your residence in the hotel in summer , and the weather is hot , it's not comfortable without conditioning . You have only ventilator and open window in this case.

Found this hotel even though we had a pending reservation for a flat in Helsinki. But the good reviews here and the fair price convinced us to choose this structure, located in the Design District but close to everything (tram stops, Bulevardi, Esplanadi and so on..) We were extremely right: freshly decorated rooms, very good breakfast and nice staff. We’re sorry to leave, would come back here again.

Maybe our room’s bathroom was small but we got used to very soon.

Tasty and varied breakfast. Good location near cafes and shops and within walking distance of the market square next to the harbour. Very friendly reception staff. Prompt, helpful and friendly responses to messages sent prior to arrival.

The room could get a little warm and stuffy and only one small window could be opened. It was a little noisy outside one night but with the window closed it was very quiet. Despite this I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

The location of the hotel is quite convenient. From the ferry terminal we walked to the hotel for only half an hour, there was no need for transport. The room was very spacious and at the same time comfortable, with two sofas and a large bed. Liked the style in which the room is designed, it had noir vibe. Since the hotel is located almost in the center of the city, there are many cafes, eateries and restaurants very close (I was surprised by the number of sushi bars nearby, apparently it has become very popular). Breakfast at the hotel was good. PS. We noticed that there was an electrical outlet on the ceiling (wonder what it is used for).

The minibar in the room was almost empty. The kettle in the room could be turned on/off only by inserting/removing the plug from the socket (the button did not work). It can be noisy during the day with the window open due to the fact that the hotel is located near the playground.

The location of this hotel is superb - central and in the old part of the city, but away from main touristic crowds, nearby plenty of shops to buy food, a bit away from the train station - but it`s just a 10-15 minutes walk. The hotel is comfortable. There is a lift, quiet corridors, good breakfast - plenty enough to have hot, cold or fresh variants. I`ve asked for a quiet room and I was given one. The room had everything one need for a good stay (a little kettle would be good, but I`ve booked standard single room for the lowest price, so maybe they have them in other variants).

Nothing substantial. I had no problem with ventilation and the weather was not hot. But for those, who might have problems with such things - this building is old and the ventilation is through window and fan (there was one in the room, i did not use it).

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Hotel Anna has an excellent location within walking distance from the central train station and near beautiful city walks and restaurants. The staff was really friendly and professional, I had a feeling that they take care of me and want to ensure a comfortable stay. I would especially like to thank the hotel for an excellent breakfast! The breakfast was fresh and tasty on a hot summer day - it was obviously organized and maintained professionally and with constant checking!

My room was extremely hot and there wasn’t any airflow whatsoever. There wasn’t even a small table fan in the room on the day that I arrived. On my second day, I saw a small fan in another room and asked if I could also get one, the staff was friendly and they brought one into my room. I wish that I had asked on my first night. I couldn’t sleep on a hot room with no airflow. My room was situated right above the back door where people went smoking. All that smoke came up straight into my room, and due to the extreme heat I couldn’t shut the window. If you can’t tolerate smoking at all like myself, I would recommend that you make sure you won’t stay in a room that is right above the place where people smoke at the inner part of the building.

Close to the bus/train, shops, pubs, restaurants and to the high street amenities. Peace and quiet neighborhood. Lots of things to do and visit. And the peaple in the shops, pubs etc. spoken English, no issues with comminications, very helpful in turist information, prieces in Helsinki similar to the other european capitals. Very enjoyable visit.

Old world charm. Plus great location! Highly recommend it as place to stay near city centre. Also you had restaurants shops etc right outside your doorstep. Oh and a convenient little grocery store (K Market) up the street.

Whilst I love the old world charm you did have to watch your step as there were little step ups and down. I kept catching myself.

Hotel was in a very good location situated in a very nice neighbourhood. Within walking distance of the central train and bus station. Also close to regular city buses and tram stops. Lots of shop's restaurants and bars very close to the Hotel. Excellent stay.

Room was very hot, with only a small desk fan.
