Solo Sokos Hotel Helsinki

A huge room and the beds were very comfortable. I asked for a quiet room and got a room that is on the inside of the hotel so no road noise at all. The breakfast was so extensive, juices, smoothies, fruit, yogurts, cereals, porridge, different jams, seeds and nuts, breads, cheeses, salad, sweet bites and cooked items, scrambled and boiled eggs, sausages, vegetables, pancakes with toppings available. I believe they also had Gluten free items. Tea, coffee etc and takeaway cups if you want one on the go. Nothing was too much trouble, just ask and they will try to accommodate your request.

The only little thing was I arrived very late at night. I let myself into the room and I could not find the lights, once I found them it took a while to work to work out how to use them. Also the air conditioning had no instructions and I couldn't work out how to use it.

The hotel was well located in the city centre. The staff were very helpful and changed my room when I could not get along with the room I was originally allocated. I particularly enjoyed a long conversation about criminology with one of the waiters who was a student of that subject. The breakfast buffet was excellent as was that served at lunchtime. The restaurant was well patronised by locals and was good enough to tempt me to stay there for a very good dinner.

It was impossible to turn off the air conditioning which, in my first room, blew cold air directly on to the bed all through the night.

Excellent Location. Excellent and Wide Spread Breakfast. Supportive Staff. Excellent Rooms, Bathrooms, Amenities. Would love to stay here again. Lots of Shops, Restaurants, Cafes, Transport systems located very close to hotel, walking distances.

Their Reservation systems had the staff confused. Though nothing went wrong and was smooth but the information stored had some confusions and were not clear. Staff did their best and sorted it out. Request to review their information storage systems. Stayed two times. First stay the system showed 3 rooms booked vs. only 2 rooms booking and second stay the room rent was higher in their system than at booking.com. Though it was also sorted out but took time to resolve it.

Close to the train station and the Cathedral. Asked for a quiet room and got a very quiet room facing the inside of the building. Huge room. Room had a mini fridge. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic, everything from cooked breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, vegetables, pancakes and porridge to cheese, ham, peppers, breads, seeds, jams and cakes. They made me English Breakfast tea each morning I asked. Would recommend to family and friends and would return to this hotel if price isn't too high.

Took me a while to get the lights working, very dark when you enter the room and light switch is down the other end. Lifts are very busy at check out time, we had to use the stairs. Could not figure out how to use the air conditioning, instructions would have been helpful.

The breakfast was very good, lots of choice so whatever you like, it will be there. The checking in and out experience was easy and no hassle at all The location was perfect for our visit, very close to the office and lots of places nearby to visit

The aircon would go not go lower than 20 degrees Celsius and we were unable to open any windows. I prefer to sleep in cooler air so if you prefer a cooler night you might struggle getting to sleep. The lifts are not that big but there are 3 of them so you can always wait for another lift to arrive.

Oh god, first off, the location was perfect. Close to the market square, three shopping malls, main train station, food places, ferries, etc. Perfect for 4 night stay, every place that I wanted to go in that 4 days was all close by. Breakfast was nutritious and good, the breakfast room setting was calm and relaxing, the staff was helpful with recommendations, and the bedroom had all amenities needed from the vanity mirror, hooks, ironing stand, small fridge, and spacious shower room, to a comfy single sofa and bed set! Also, the automatic lighting and half dim/full lighting mode were on point! Love it. Just simply love the hotel. With the price, it was quite affordable I'd say, for single/couple travelers.

The location - 3-4 min from the Railway station and 10-15 min from Kamppi bus station, nice surroundings. The room was of a normal size (not small and not big), had everything that we needed (except maybe for a free bottle of water): iron, kettle, desk suitable as a working space, sufficient number of electricity sockets and USB port etc. The bed was very comfortable! The room was very quiet and had enough of natural light. The staff on reception was friendly and helpful. Check-in went smoothly. I liked the sustainable approach: the asked us if we need cleaning every day, there were no one time use shampoo, shower gel, etc. (in my opinion, this is just a waste of resources for nothing). Breakfast was good but not excellent.

Like everybody already mentioned - windows do not open (but I guess the same situation in all hotels in Helsinki).

The hotel is close to everything, transportation, shops and restaurants. Breakfast is really good, a lot of options, the natural smoothies are great. The lady at the reception was super nice both checking in and checking out. The room was good, spacious, the coffee area/kettle even had a hot chocolate, one of the first hotels I stayed that had that.

I would like to have had a shower bath and slippers.

Great hotel, we had the best of the time here.. I would like to rate its location, breakfast, friendly staff all as 20/10. Breakfast has a very good spread, lots of vegetarian options, and beautiful presentation. Even the bedding was so comfortable, we slept very well during our stay. Tram station, metro, bus station, eating joints all are nearby and at walking distance. All in all, would recommend everyone to stay here in Helsinki
