Hotel Palmenhof

A large room with a balcony with nice chairs. Shower was lovely as well, with really hot water, a bit slippery tho. Reception was always there and was helpful. A decent kettle. Quiet with no noise form other guests or the streets. Breakfast cost 16 euro per person for me. It's nice but could maybe use some hot porrige and higher quality cakes. Coffee is very good, lots of fruit, ham, cheeses, etc. Metro's in 5-7 minutes slow walk.

Elevator - there's one but there's also 12 steps at the front door which is a problem with heavy luggage. Clening lady repeatedly didn't put shower gel. Carpets in the rooms smell a bit dusty. Pillows lack volume. Nothing too anoying, I'd say.

The staff were excellent. I very much appreciated that there was someone at the reception desk 24 hours a day. That is invaluable and not so common these days. The receptionists helped me with several issues, including finding a restaurant in a different city. I love the location of this hotel. It is a peaceful and beautiful neighborhood. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the heart of downtown, but you can also take a very short walk to the nearest subway station. You are also in easy walking distance of several small supermarkets. My room was facing away from the street and was very quiet. My room was cleaned and tidied up every day. There was a small refrigerator in the room, which was very helpful. There was also a hot water heater to make tea. There were excellent linens. I never had any trouble with the WiFi connection. I also appreciated that this was a non-smoking hotel. I did not have breakfasts at the hotel, so I can't comment on that.

The bed was a bit firm for me, but I'm sure it would be exactly right for others. The heating system was also very loud at certain times. But I felt very safe and comfortable in the room.

I enjoyed my stay very much. I was alone but felt safe as the hotel is in a very safe neighborhood. The staff were courteous, kind and very accommodating. They always greeted me with a smile as I came and went through the lobby. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast as well. There was a variety of fresh and tasty offerings. I love the hotel’s close proximity to the subway as well. All in all I enjoyed my brief stay and will definitely return next time I’m in Frankfurt.

More pillows on the bed and a side table for the balcony would have been nice.

Quite spacious and clean rooms. Beds are really comfortable. Bathroom looks new, is clean and well equipped. Location is in a very nice and safe part of town close to the U-Bahn direct line from the HauptBahnhof. Staff is kind and helpful. Wi-fi works fine.

The Air conditioning does not work that well. It did manage to keep the room on the cooler side but the temperature it shows was definitely not what it was. If it gets really hot outside, this might not be pleasant. There are no blinds, just normal curtains. So bright lights tend to wake you up early in the morning. Not ideal.

The hotel is very clean and cozy. Loved the classic pieces of furniture, I had an amazing old wooden desk in my room. Palmenhof is in a green, quiet, safe neighbourhood with two metro stops within 300 metres. If you like walking, you can walk to the main tourist sites, Frankfurt is a pedestrian friendly city.

Not really a 4 star hotel as in the amenities one usually finds in a 4 star hotel (bath robe, slippers etc.) weren't available. But that's really unimportant, the hotel is great.

The facility and cleanliness of the place. Staff were friendly and very accommodating.

The heater was not warm enough.

We paid only 57€ for 2 persons and were shocked how amazing nice was our room. All furniture are in antique, the same time the bathroom was really modern. Shampoo and body lotion are not cheap and smell amazing. we also had a pretty view from our balcony. One of the best hotel experience in my life 10/10 P.S. the district is cool too, very safe, in contrast to whole Frankfurt… we feel safe only near hotel during whole trip)

The location is perfect - quiet, secure and beautiful place. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast also was very good. We used public Palmengarten Parking. It’s about 7 minutes from the hotel- secure, not expansive, and there always were enough parking places.

It’s important to mention that there are several stairs to get from the entrance to the lobby. And other stairs from the lobby to the dining room. It may be difficult to people with some disabilities

Considering I just came from an overcrowded hostel located in a dirty alley in Dublin (that was almost twice as expensive), this hotel really exceeded my expectations (especially because I was kind of expecting Germany to be pricier). Everything was very clean, and the hotel gave of a vibe that they didn't just get the cheapest furniture and equipment they could find - the place was, well... fancy (for lack of a better word). The bathroom was very nice, I had enough socket's and lamps, I really enjoyed the balcony, the bed (and the carpet) was soft and cozy, I liked that I could make tea in the room...actually everything was perfect: I stayed in 4 different places on my trip and this one was way above the rest (at similar price) - it really allowed me to recharge my batteries for the rest of my trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful (and competent), and the location next to the botanical gardens enabled me to go for relaxing walks there.

Absolutely no objections whatsoever.

Staff were friendly, room was very clean with comfortable bed, good Wifi, mini-fridge and kettle plus tea/ coffee. ( Didn’t try breakfast at 16€, but there are great places nearby for coffee, ready-to-eat yoghurt, muesli and fruit packs, etc.) Balcony and pleasant courtyard view from our 3rd floor double room, and window opened nicely for fresh air. Air con available as well as a lift.. Luggage storage was handy. Two metro stations nearby, but also easy 15-20 min walk into centre. A partial blackout was fixed quickly by throwing a switch.

Pillows too low for me, but that’s personal taste and husband wasn’t bothered. Water was available for sale, but expensive: buy beforehand.
