JUFA Hotel Hamburg HafenCity

Basicaly a newly built hotel, in an area with sprawling new development. Much of the area looked like a construction yard, but wasn't noisy. Very nice promenade starting at the riverside behind the hotel that gets you to the centre of the city or e.g. the Landungsbrücken if you like a good hike. Courteous staff, spacious restaurant, underground parking with elevator access to the reception area and the rooms. Close enough to walk to the city centre if you want to stretch your legs before a meeting.

Didn't have a problem with anything, the hotel was conveniently located. Had a bit of trouble finding the entrance to the underground garage, but missed a sign that I discovered the next day.

This Hotel is in Hafencity area of Hamburg, a place close to very vivid quarters with many restaurants and bars. Cleanliness of the Hotel and the rooms is remarquable. We had large, clear and well insulated rooms Reception personnel was very welcoming, efficient and competent in dealing with our requests.

The hotel procedure requires a check in time after 16:00 which might be not very convenient depending on your arrival time. However the Hotel proposes to secure your lugages in a locked store room until that time if you request it. Alternatively if your dedicated room is ready you might be allowed to move in provided you ask for it. The WIFI could be weak from time to time!

Breakfast was amazing, we enjoyed the variety of sweet and savory choices. You could sit inside or outside on the terrace with a wonderful Elbe view. I liked the concept how each room had a different city name, very cute and easy to remember. Location was great right next to UBahn and also very close to the city center that was just in a walking distance. Rooms were tidy and we had all we needed there.

Nothing in particular, just the room looked better on a picture. In real it was giving me a little dorm vibes but nothing bad about that.

Great service - breakfast, reception, lobby bar. Breakfast is good - regular hotel breakfast, but everything is tasty. The U-bahn station is practically in the hotel, which is great. The WIFI is one of the best hotel wifis I've seen -fast, free, and no conditions. The TVs in the rooms are nice. At least our room had separate toilet and bathroom, which was a first for me in a hotel.

Although the subway station is in the hotel, there is practically no restaurant or bar in walking distance of the hotel. You have to take the subway for everything. This is not the hotel's fault, but something to consider. The TV, although modern, has two failings - you can't google cast to them, and the HDMI port is inaccessible. The rooms are advertised as "with view" but they overlook an island with a parking lot, or an industrial lot and a train line.

Excellent design and comfortable lobby (you might need it with a check in at 4:00). Excellent breakfast: all the things you expect from the location (the sweet and sour fish a discovery!). The location is calm and conveniently close to the Elbphilarmonie.

Tip: you need to hit the Set button for the temperature adjustment to register (we're not used any more to Save buttons). Not having noticed this, in conjunction with the partially synethetic blanket made the bed uncomfortably warm in the night. The pillow was way too soft. The IT system of the hotel could not automatically match the booking reservation. The cleaning lady opened the room twice the next day, thinking it was empty.

The bar in the hotel was great, we had a great experience with the bartender. The room was beautiful and had a great view. The bathroom was nice and big, having both a bathtub and shower separate were nice, and the toilet being in a separate room was also nice. Our balcony was nice and big and also private. The decorations were cute and the lobby was clean and well decorated with friendly front desk staff.

Pretty much a perfect stay. No negatives to add.

Initially we thought we were too far from the city centre but we then discovered the subway train station is literally under the hotel and we were actually only 5 minutes from the centre at Jungfernstieg. We also loved the peaceful dockside setting. It is so quiet and relaxing. The staff are wonderful and attentive. The breakfast choices and the constant replenishing of the produce by an army of waiters was also very impressive. We enjoyed a nice view of the docks and benefited from a full length window. We had a superior double.

No problems

Breakfast was nice and extensive. Rooms and facilities were as expected, nice, clean and spacious. We were happy to be able to charge our electric car in the underground parking and to be able to rent bikes to explore the city.

Location was okay with bikes, but looking back it would have been nice to be a bit closer to the city centre, since we were only there for a short while. The staff was friendly, but one of the two didn't speak English very wel and the other had just started the job, it seemed. So sometimes it took a while to explain things.

It is located immediately next to public transport and therefore easy to reach, even with luggage. Very clean rooms and a spacious lobby with games for kids.

When the breakfast room was full they would open a breakout room lacking all charme and chilled to the core. A hotel of this size would clearly need 4-6 elevators, long queues would form at peak hours and no possibility to take the stairs.

The location is very good if you like to walk (which we do) but the U Bahn was literally within the hotel precinct and so movement around the city was very easy, the rooms were large and very clean and functional, the car parking was easy (but not cheap) and the breakfast was absolutely magnificent with plenty of everything you could possibly want to eat and very well presented.

We were on the side of the building facing the railway and so having the window open at night could be a bit disturbing for some clients although the air conditioning would have been a good alternative and was, itself, very effective - but we like the fresh air and so the train noise was a little disturbing but not deal breakingly so by any means.
