This hotel enjoys a perfect location. Transportation using the Metro, S Bahn, and local trams is within walking distance. Close to venues like the Hauf Brau House, Marienplatz and within easy distance of the Englischer Garten the Haus im Tal makes it a value and convenience. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast offered a good variety of choices.

Typical of most European hotels, our room was functional but small. The paint color didn’t help. We were informed that it’s “eggplant.” The dark brownish color didn’t enhance the smallness of the room. Reception told us that each room is individually decorated so our experience may not be yours. We found out that German law prohibits air conditioning to operate unless a certain differential is met. Apparently it was not met during our stay. Although the window was noise canceling when closed, it was not when opened. The street noise was annoying on week nights. It lasted longer on the weekend. The scree on the shower simply didn’t work. No matter how we tried, we couldn’t keep water off the floor. After two of us showering, the floor was soaked.

We stayed in the jacuzzi room and we really appreciated the complementary fizz. We were allowed to check in early which was really welcome after a long night of travelling. The room was large and comfortable, we liked the music and underfloor heating in the bathroom, good shower, a nice balcony and large jacuzzi. The staff were great.

Brilliant location five minutes from Marienplatz. Modern designed room. The highlight of the hotel is the rooftop terrace bar and in particular the incredible gourmet breakfast, generously including warm options such as eggs and Weißwurst, plus croissants, meats and cheeses, a selection of yogurts and overnight oatmeal, and excellent coffee. The staff were friendly and accommodating and gave us a great recommendation of a nearby Bavarian restaurant where we had the best Käsespätzle and Kaiserschmarren ever!

The room is a little sparse on amenities - no fridge or coffee/tea making facilities, for example. I also wasn’t so enamored with the tiny bathroom, primarily due to the open shower which left the floors wet. The light switches, etc. seem overly complicated. You have to be a technical genius to figure out how everything works. The room was quite warm due to the eco-friendly heating and cooling system, which unfortunately doesn’t work so well.

Great location. Easy to park in public garage near by. Very friendly and serviceminded staff. Delicious breakfast, however they had a hard time keeping up with the demands the first morning, and we had to wait for eggs, coffee etc. There were fewer people the second morning and everything that morning was perfect. Nice size room too for two adults and two kids at 13 years old. If you are staying longer, you should know that there are no closets for storage of your clothes. Expect some noise in the weekend evenings as the rooftop bar is quite popular, however if you enjoy some energi around you while having a night cap like we did, then it is no bother.

If you mind a bit of noise in the evening, then you should not choose this hotel. The bathroom gets quite wet when using the shower, however that was cleaned up nicely by cleaning staff during the day.

An excellent location almost in the centre of town with a nice upper terrace. This was its greatest asset. Very friendly staff. Very comfortable bed. Modern bedroom and furnishings.

No fridge and no drink making facilities in the room. There was also no clothes storage apart from a coat rack so we couldn’t unpack our suitcase. There wasn’t even one easy chair in the room and although there was a balcony, it was caged in and the seating was a bench .and so not comfortable. The bathroom was a wet room which meant that care had to be taken not to flood the floor. One morning the breakfast area had run out of rolls early on and they were not replenished.

The location couldn’t be any better. It’s just a block away from the center of old town. the room was plenty big enough for our family of 2 adults and 2 teen boys. it was nice to have all four of us in the same room with a curtain divider between us. There was a small balcony with seating. We were not facing the Main Street, but The windows are thick so any noise was muffled. The bed was super comfortable (the mattress was the most comfortable of our entire trip), and the pull out sofa was more comfortable than most. there was AC in the room. Although it doesn’t get super cool It definitely helped cool the room down on warm evenings. Staff was super nice and the breakfast was very good - lots of wonderful choices. Hotel is also very close to a couple of bakeries. Seating for breakfast and for the bar in the evenings is on the fifth floor and has indoor and outdoor patio seating. Very cute. Whenever we had questions, we would go up to the reception (on the 5th floor) and whoever was there was very helpful. I recommend that over using their text system to ask questions if you want an answer right away. They all speak English well (which helped with my limited German )

The shower was built without a door and without a step so when you take a shower, the water fills up much of bathroom. They gave us extra towels and said they will be remodeling the bathrooms soon. Furniture and lighting is very minimalistic. Think IKEA. no drawers to put clothes in and only a couple of shelves. There is a rack with hangers, but no closet. This worked well for us since my boys usually live out of their suitcases anyways.

I can't adequately stress how perfect the location is. A 2 minute walk from Marienplatz, 3 minute walk from Hofbrauhaus, easy walking to a large selection of excellent restaurants and sightseeing. Haus Im Tal has a chill, friendly vibe. The room was small, but pleasant. Heated floor in the bathroom, music plays at the touch of a button, and the windows are large which makes for a bright, cheery ambience. Hotel staff were helpful and kind. If I return to Munich, I won't even consider other options.

The room is smallish, but that's the tradeoff for such a perfect location. Can't complain. There's a spot for one large suitcase.

Great staff-helped with rental car return and suggestions, offered drinks upon arrival-very attentive and quick to respond Very clean! Location-perfect-just off the Marienplatz square Had rooftop bar-especially great if “hip”-hosted events (at 60-we didn’t attend!) Be aware you enter off a busy road so with a car-ask them best place to pull over

The shower had great water pressure but is a silly set up-glass walls with big opening so water floods the bathroom Air con so so-we were there during a very hot week in Sept-the air con has very little fan blowing -better than nothing but could be better

the staff, the breakfast, the 5th floor, the location, the chic design.

Now I’m just being honest. Notwithstanding the comfort of the room, and the bed, you have to be quite fit to get in and out of the bed in room 502 (I am 68). I would have preferred to have a comfy seat in the bedroom rather than a pouffe that I don’t think that I’ll be able to get out of (I never tried!)! I also think it’s a bit odd spinning the discs in early afternoon on a Saturday. It was all a bit busy then. My cousin aged 88 started to dance the afternoon away. All I’m saying here is that hotel guests must come first. And it’s jolly lucky that the rooms are soundproofed well.
