Hotel Admiral

Hotel Admiral is a boutique hotel, so one is not paying for swimming pools, gyms and granite lobbies. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast staff extremely good. Room staff achieve high high standard of cleanliness.

My husband would have preferred hot items on the breakfast menu. But the coffee was great and all other breakfast items were beyond reproach (unlike some other hotels where fruit was “on the turn” by the end of the week.

The hotel staff were always attentive and helpful with any questions or requests we had. The location is just a few blocks from Old Town and easy access to MVV transport locations even with the Isartor station temporarily closed for construction during our stay. I really enjoyed the many fresh food options for our breakfast at the hotel.

No fault of Hotel Admiral, but don't waste time in the coffee shop next door to this hotel. The owner or manager of Caffè Da Me was the rudest person we encountered during our two week holiday in Europe.

The location was great, 15 min walk to Marienplatz & a short walk to Isartor station which is on the direct line from Munich airport. The room was spacious with a nice outlook. The breakfast was outstanding, the best breakfast we had during our month in Europe & the breakfast room was lovely overlooking the garden. The breakfast staff were fantastic & very helpful.

We arrived early on a Sunday after a long trip from Australia & we were hopeful that our room would be ready or at least ready earlier than the 3pm check in. Unfortunately the room wasn’t ready & the woman on the front desk was extremely rude & just told us to leave our luggage & come back after 3pm. She wouldn’t contact housekeeping to see if the room would be available earlier & she very reluctantly agreed to charge my phone. I understand that check in wasn’t until much later but it would have been nice to have at least been offered a glass of water & permitted to use the toilet near the breakfast room. Otherwise all of the other staff were great.

Small hotel, good location with lots of local eateries very close. Good breakfast with lots of fresh fruit including strawberries and esp berries. Although small, the hotel had a lovely lounge area and outside garden - great places for sitting during the day and evening. Staff were very accomodating with printing documents for ongoing flights, storing bags and giving lounge/room access after formally checking out because of inward flight time.

A slight smell - cigarette smoke permeated the floor.

The breakfast was very nice, the room was clean and looks like newly renovated. The hotel is about 4 minutes walk from the Isartor S Trains and about 8 minutes from U trains, Bus 132 was around 3 minutes far. It looked strange to have a hotel in this neighborhood i guess it was a residential building and nicely turned into a hotel. The rooms had a safe. I needed an ironing and the staff provided it to me promptly. You can take an apple and a sweet drop when passingby the reception.

There was no coffee or tea and kettle available in the room. The phone was not working I could not talk to the reception and i had to go down to ask about something. The reception and restaurant area is somehow tight

+ Staff: Very friendly, informative, helpful, breakfast staff were very attentive + Our suite on the 6th floor (elevator to 5th floor, walk up to 6th floor) felt secluded and soundproofed, which is great with an 18mo old on holiday. Great amount of space - the rooms were not directly connected, but they both had doors to a shared hallway. + Suite had two separate bathrooms, one with a shower, one with a tub, which was very useful. + A/C and ventilation were superb, got to be too cold at times even! + Breakfast was solid and a great start to the day - it was continental (including hard boiled eggs, soft boiled eggs, different bread varieties, smoked salmon, pasta salad, fruit, yogurt, cereal, fruit juice, coffee made to order, milk) + Breakfast also took place in an adorable breakfast area with a charming outdoor space. + Good location - about 10m walk to Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt, about 7m walk to Isartor train station (you can get to/from airport directly), close proximity to cafes/restaurants, right across street from Deutsches Museum

- Mini fridges didn't really work to keep things cold - One of the bathrooms had a slight sewage smell to it, but with the vent on it was much better - Playpen/crib wasn't set up when we got there, and took about 2-3 hours to get in room. They kindly provided the playpen for free rather than the 30E/night - Playpen/crib had several holes and there wasn't really a mattress, so it was very uncomfortable for the baby. We had to makeshift by using the couch cushion and some towels to make it flat and more padded for baby.

Our room was very large and modern. It was nicely decorated and had big windows we could open. The breakfast was good; lots of fruit, some bread, cereal, yogurt, and boiled eggs. Every morning the breakfast lady would make us cappuccinos and some espresso. Every evening we brought our wine from the market and had an aperitivo in the back garden. It was lovely.

The front lobby could use a little modernization.

Friendly staff throughout the hotel and helpful reception. The breakfast was great, wide variety and fresh products to kickoff your day. Very central location with public transportation within a few walking minutes. Stayed in the two-room suite and everything was great! Recommended!

Had some technical issues which affected the stay, but the staff were more than eager to help and try to sort it out.

I like that the staff was very attentive to your needs. I like the morning breakfast they offered.

There’s nothing I can say that I didn’t like about the property if I could make a suggestion, though the air conditioning really wasn’t cool enough at night I was very warm even at a good setting  maybe they should take a look at that.
