Hotel Senator München

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The bathroom and bed sheets were cleaned and changes every day. Good beds. The breakfast has a little choice but it was tasty. And most impostant- the location was superb. The train station was ~ 1km, the tram station was 2min walk. At the other side off street was a mall with two grosery stores. Plenty restorants around the hotel and park where Oktoberfest is held, was like 400m from the hotel. Big kids park was in front off the mall.

While the hotel is older, it has been renovated recently and everything is in good working order. They even have an elevator, which not all old hotels in Germany have. Their breakfast is a classic German style breakfast, and for the small hotel it is really exceptional with even some tasty home made salads provided besides the good selection of breads, cheeses, cold cuts, veggies, fruits, cereals and bacon, eggs and spreads. The location is really central with only five minutes to walk to either the nearest underground or tram station which made getting to my various appointments quite convenient after getting a week-long city ticket. Last but not least: I had a top floor room which had a rooftop outside garden/sitting area that would have been fantastic to use had it been a little later in the year and warmer.

Since the hotel is small with not many rooms, they do not take in laundry so I had to go to the city dry clean near the main railway station on Bayerstrasse (the one closer to the hotel is self service only, that‘s not helpful when you are on a business trip with work to do) which was very fast and good, but of course it cannot beat the convenience of an in-house service. Although the room was well cleaned and bedding and towels all quite freshly washed, there was quite a noticeable layer of dust on the heating radiator bottom in the bathroom and on some of the less accessible sockets and light switches in the room.

Although the hotel is a little dated (a rather inadequate lift, baths rather than showers), it's a good place to stay. Munich is a superb city, and Senator is ideally placed for the city's excellent public transport. In the hotel itself, the rooms are reasonably spacious and equipped. The breakfasts were very good. Although (other than breakfasts) no catering is available within the hotel, there are some good eateries locally. There is an internal parking garage wihtin the hotel, which was most helpful Also helpful were the excellent reception staff who were always available to help make our stay even better.

As I said, the hotel is a little dated, but other than that (oh, and we weren't able to connect to the internet), everything was more than acceptable.

Proximity to the station and central area! Cute little balcony view of the church dome. Comfy bed and clean bathroom. Sufficient typical european breakfast items, enough to kick start the day.

Smell of smoke in the corridor of the room, that happens as most of the rooms have a balcony. Maybe add a room freshner in the hallway. Would be good to put a kettle in the room already, instead of guests needing to ask for one. Shuttle service from the airport would be a nice add on. (no complaints per se, as easy to reach) Include some more vegetarian options in the breakfast.

It's clear that the hotel was not build yesterday,so you need to understand it's a bit of old style. But everything was kept in a nice way and was very comfortable and clean, the people on reception and lady working in the kitchen were really nice. And the breakfast had everything needed, so it's definitely cost these money. We even had a small balcony and a big bath tub, so can't complain 🙂

The lady who cleans 2 times before check out was trying to start cleaning. First she was knocking at 10 even if it's far from check out time, but I think she was just mistaken because she said sorry . And then next time 11:50. I understand that check out is at 12 but it's not needed to trying to get inside before official checkout time, we were already packing and about to leave. As the person working in the hotel as well, can't understand why we need to be disturbed till check out.So this was the only a bit unpleasant thing, because we felt like they can't wait when we will leave finally.

The staff were all incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating. They were able to help us with any issue and give any information that we required, always offering to go the extra step. The room was large and always clean when we got back. The location was ideal for getting to and from the main station.

Our room opened directly on to the stairwell, so we could sometimes be woken up by the sounds of people going up and down in the early mornings. The breakfast selection was a little small but it was also complimentary, and the food tasty.

Rooms were very spacious. The hotel was only 10 min walking distance from the Central station with lots of restaurants. Even 2 supermarkets, Edeka and Lidl were pretty close, within 300 m. Hotel staffs were very good.

Practically nothing. The temperature was unbearable this year. The day we arrived was pretty hot. Without air conditioning, it was not comfortable. On request they provided extra fan but the situation hardly improved.

The first night I did not like our room. The street was too noisy to have the window open. The next day we ask to move and they put us on the bottom floor. We really liked it. It was quiet and we had a porch. The bed was comfortable and we sleep really well. The staff was very nice. It was a good!

The first night at the hotel we were on the second floor. The noise from the street was too load to have the window open. It wasn't cool enough in the room to get a good night sleep. Good thing they moved us to a better suited room the next morning.

Very helpful staff who were always ready to assist ... spacious room with a bathtub. Good location of the hotel - close to the underground, less than 5 minute's walk. Then only 10 minutes away from Munich center. Restaurants and a supermarket located nearby were convenient to reach.

The WIFI is very weak and keeps cutting out intermittently. The breakfast was good but could do with a bit more variety.

The location is excellent for Oktoberfest. Easy walking to the central trainstation as well. The staff was friendly and will hold onto your room key while you are out for the day. Physical keys so this was a nice courtesy. The breakfast in the morning also was better than expected.

Windows open to a busy street, for the time of year we didn't really need our windows open or an A/C but some of the negative reviews of this hotel are understandable if coming in a warmer month.
