Straits View Hotel JB

The Staff, I have stayed here a lot over the past years, they are friendly, very professional and helpful, the beds are very comfortable and the location gives easy access to Johor Bahru.

1. The Internet, considering Johor Bahru has 5G, the service in the Hotel is very weak, the further you are from the Office, the weaker the signal. 2. Television - not tuned in, nothing on the channels - if your going to provide something, make sure it works. 3. Water Pressure - counting water drops is not my idea of a good Shower.

Mostly that i like to stay there.. Is a surrounding hill garden..feel peace in mind although the hotel is old fashion..fantastic view my eye sight..enjoy sceneries..feel comfort not pack with building n apartment will definitely come to stay again Although breakfast is not included

At first..sight to enter the hotel gate no feel fine..it seem like abandon building as there is no car can be seen..further up then only do many car is parking..on hill..side..top with roof car park..bay

Spacious, well appointed, very comfortable room. Ample on site parking and in a great location for Johor Baru. Close enough to the city centre to be convenient, but far out enough so that you're not in the thick of it.

F&B options are limited to a very good Chinese restaurant and a bar. You need to venture out if you want something simpler- or if you want breakfast. A nearby street food centre within walking takes care of dinner, but you will need transport for breakfast or lunch.

We were delayed in our journey to the hotel. I called to inform about the delay and I was attended to by Mr Zainal who was at the front desk. I didnt have to tell him much and he immediately calmed my nerves by telling me that he will hold my reservation. It was a bad jam coming from KL to JB and I couldn't even estimate my travelling time. When we were checking in we were warmly greeted by Mr Zainal and that put a smile to our tired faces. The room & bathroom were very clean and the scenery was excellent- if you like looking at the border and appreciate the nature that surrounds it. We will definitely book again the next time we are in town.

The tv channels weren't that clear but its alright- we love the view from our room.

Very pleasant and spacious, the room has a nice view of the bay over looking Singapore. Location is very convenient too, car park is spacious and easy. The hotel doesn't have room over crowding issues, which is good. The stay was pretty peaceful.

The wifi wasn't working properly, couldn't get stable and fast internet. TV channels also had poor reception. Charging sockets need to be replace also, the current is not so stable. Sometimes have connectivity issues.

A pleasant stay as always in this wonderful old hotel. Great location, big comfortable room and friendly staff all make for a wonderful stay in Johor.

This property only has a bar and a (very good) Chinese restaurant on site. If you want something a little less fancy (or breakfast), you have to venture out. Also one of the power sockets in our room wasn't working and there are no power sockets near the bed. Makes charging phones a bit of a hassle.

For the price the rooms were big and the view was great. The room was clean and did not smell at all. The staff were kind and the room was very spacious indeed. The check in and checkout time were flexible. For the price this was a super fantastic deal.

There was no breakfast provided. It was not easy to get grab during peak hours here. Not coming by your own transport would be a disadvantage. There was no toothpaste and toothbrush provided. It was a basic all in one shower gel only that was provided.

The room was very spacious and the aircon was powerful. There is also a Chinese restaurant within the hotel's premises, so food was easy to order. The staff were also friendly.

The signage on the road leading to the hotel's location was not visible, as the road entrance to the hotel was hidden from view. The room's TV reception wasn't good and there were limited tv channels to watch.

Hotel is clean and cozy. Located away from the hustle and bustle of the city so it's more quiet and relaxing. The room faces a large garden / sea so the day view is awesome.

Area is dark at night so it was abit difficult to find the place. The door did not come with a latch but overall the place felt safe so it was still okay. Rooms are not very soundproof so can hear the neighbouring rooms / corridor noise.

10 minutes by taxi from the center of Johor = 20 Ringgit taxi fare Spacious room with a high ceiling.. Powerful aircon. Frontdesk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They even borrowed me 10 Ringgit as a taxi fare to get into City Center Mall, to withdraw miney from a ATM.
