Clarion Hotel Bergen

the location was perfect, nearby the attraction places in Bergen and not far from Central station.

I booked with family room which one room has no window. But it is not a big deal.

The hotel is located in Bryggen, close to most of the main places in Bergen tourists tend to visit. The facilities are well maintained and clean. We stayed a few nights, in two types of rooms and they were both clean and comfortable. All the sfaff members are extremely kind and helpful with whatever topic they are requested to assist with. * I would like to specifically appreciate the help of Isabella, who assisted us with two personal matters in a manner which was more that what she would have been expected to (Thank you again!). And as everyone else writes and says - breakfast is very varied and good.

We had a rather large double room (it was an upgrade), almost the size of a studio. The view was great, to the harbour, however it was not noisy. All the facilities in the room were functional and the staff replaced all the towels every single day, although when we did not leave any towel on the bathroom floor as a sign that we wanted them replaced. The breakfast was very good and varied (cold and hot food and drinks) and worth the money (fir us it was included in the room rate). The breakfast area is quite large, although it was quite busy on a couple of mornings (it tends to get busier between 9-10am). It was really useful to be able to rent umbrellas from the reception as we did not have any and it rained every day we were in Bergen. It’s about £2 for 48hrs per umbrella, which I think it’s a decent price. The receptionists and all the hotel staff we interacted with were very nice, helpful and welcoming. The location of the hotel is perfect, 2-3 minutes walking distance from the Floybanen station, Fishmarket, the harbour, Bryggen, many restaurants, a couple of supermarkets, public transport stations, souvenir shops. It’s worth booking your stay at this hotel if you want to be close to almost everything in terms of touristic hotspots and places to eat/drink out.

The location is outstanding. The breakfast is wonderful.

I had requested a room with twin beds but they gave it away before we arrived, so my niece and I had to stay in one full-sized bed for two nights. Also, the manager was not exactly friendly when we got there. The description clearly says the front desk is open 24/7, but when our delayed flight meant our arrival in the wee hours of the morning, he complained about having to wait up for us. Also, the breakfast schedule doesn't work as planned. Although people are required to book a slot for breakfast, people just show up as they like. This meant our having to lose some sleep in order to honor our assigned breakfast time, rather than coming down when we were ready. It's a flawed system that should be corrected.

The breakfast and the location are just perfect! The breakfast has a lot of options and the staff are always replacing empty trays or offering coffee. The location is just perfect, 5 minutes walking from every where! The staf where very nice.

The bed and the pillows are just awful, I know that is a personal preference but every day I would wake up and I could barely move because of the back pain. The gym had one of the machines out of order and there is no WiFi or cell phone coverage in the gym because it is in the -3.

Luxurious and clean rooms. Amazing bathroom with bathtub and Rituals bathroom products. Very rich breakfest. Free cofee and tea in the lobby. Friendly accomodating stuff . The hotel is few steps from historic city centre, close to fish market and glacier cruises. We were bit afraid due to some comments at Google before arrival but it has shown as not reliable.

Hand shower in bathtub had very weak stream but there was another independent shower on the wall.

The hotel is perfectly located with only a short walk to Bryggen, restaurants, the fish market, shops and the funicular railway. Breakfast is amazing with a huge range of options - I particularly liked the fresh fish, breads and cheeses. Rooms were clean, functional and just what we needed. We were a large group of 40 including young people so being able to have up to five in a room was a bonus. Given it's location and quality we thought we got excellent value for money. Staff were very helpful too.

Some of the rooms didn't have central lights which made them a little dark but there were plenty of lamps so not a major problem.

We got transferred to Admiral due to off season the hotel and its views were out of this world, breakfast was spot on, free coffee in the lobby was a really nice touch

Room was tiny and bed was super soft we don't sleep well . In the other hotel the room we chose was bigger but as hotel got changed to I guess more up market the room shrieked. I wouldn't mind normally but in those conditions with constant rain there was space to put wet clothes away

Very helpful reception staff and wonderful breakfast. Located in the heart of Bergen, just a few blocks to Bryggens historic district and the Floibanen incline tram.

Parking in the garage below the hotel was a little tight for maneuvering. There is another parking garage just a block away that was more spacious.

Our room facing the harbour in Bryggen on the 4th. floor was excellent, very spacious, and with a good sized bathroom . The breakfast was excellent with a very large selection of food on offer, including many different types of fish. The staff on the front desk were very helpful and nice to talk with. Bergen is a relatively small city and all places to visit within a ten or fifteen minute stroll. There are great views from the window of the harbour and also a great view from the harbour of the rear of the Hotel. The price for our stay was very reasonable.

What could have been better would have been hot water in the hot water kettles provided in the breakfast dining room. A luke warm cup of tea is not so pleasant. The tea water on offer was not hot enough
