Sorell Hotel Arabelle

The hotel is situated near the train station, it was clean and the room was spacious with tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was rich, with different types of milk , cereals and bread. I particularly enjoyed a type of savoury cheese that we don't have in Italy. The machine for coffee prepared delicious foaming cappuccino and you could take more than one if you liked. In the hall, there was always a jar of water with lemon and mint and some apples at customers' disposal When you stay in a hotel in Bern you can have a special code for a free ticket for transports that take you around town. The staff was really helpful and kind. In Bern we visited Paul Klee Zentrum with its futuristic structure by Renzo Piano.

We arrived after 4PM and the do-it-yourself check-in was a little complicated but in the end we could manage. Bern is a wonderful town and it's worth visiting but it's outrageously expensive : I was impressed to see that a small icecream costs the equivalent of 6 euros and a pizza 25 euros. Thanks God we had breakfast included and free tickets on transports!

This is a very nice hotel. Conveniently situated a little over 5 minutes walk from the railway station, in a quiet, pleasant neighbourhood just behind the university. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room, with a view over a quiet and pretty inner courtyard garden, was very spacious, with a desk, and a sitting area with two armchairs and a table. Good bathroom with a decent sized shower. Safe for valuables in the wardrobe, tea and coffee making facilities. Several nice touches you would not usually expect from a 3 star hotel, such as a big umbrella, a long shoe horn, and an exercise mat. Breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide selection of hot and cold options, fresh fruit etc. Last but not least the price was very reasonable (for Switzerland!), excellent value for money.

The breakfast is good, and the room is clean with modern facilities. The receptionists are friendly and helpful.

The closing time of reception is too early (16.00), many guests are running into problems when checking in late like us. The process is chaotic and took us about 40 mins to finally finish checkin and find the correct room (there are two buildings, you need to find the correct one, I suggest the hotel to put some sign in front of the lift to avoid misleading: like guests in room xxx-xxx, you need to go to building A or B). Also it is difficult to find a decent parking place nearby.

The location is good, they provide a free tourist transport pass, the hotel is 3 stops away from the train station. You get a bottle of water, a mini chocolate bar, tea and coffee. Breakfast is excellent, the best one so far in Switzerland. Also, we arrived around 13h and our room was ready

Rooms are outdated, and our toilet was dirty, not cleaned at all. I sent a picture to the staff and the receptionist apologized and gave us a thermos bottle as a gift.

Jasmin and Tatiana are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in a residential area which is quiet and safe. The room is clean and spacious. Breakfast is great with a variety of cheese, coffee, and bread (plus scramble egg and bacon).

No fridge. No microwave.

Great location! Area not overly crowded. Close to bus line. Get to old Bern in less than 10 minutes on bus. Breakfast was a great asset for hotel. Good food and a great savings on eating out.

Beds are smaller than a standard queen in USA. Be aware there is no A/C in the rooms. Request a fan.

Room spacious and clean

.1. The review said its "near" to train station and city center that's why I booked.. I spend 27CHF to get a taxi to hotel 😅😅😅😅😅 it will be helpful if hotel put the direction as in. From Bern main station.go to platform 13 then take the lift to 4th floor and you will get into neigbour area 2. I was given free tram and bus ticket but don't know where should I use it to go. Ask the recept she say go city center you can just walk? So the free tram ticket is USELESS!!

The check in process was automated, but the front desk provided very clear details and were also available over phone. The hotel is very well connected to Bern Train & Bus Central. The room & bathroom was very clean. The front desk was very helpful with all of our queries. Breakfast was also very good.

The elevator is bit small.

Our room was great, clean and spacious. Staff was friendly, breakfast was good. Great location!

It definitely needs air conditioner or at least a fan. It was a struggle to sleep since it was too hot.

10 mins walk from station (else lots of buses) in a more residential part of town. A few cafes and restaurants nearby. Comfortable bed. Hot water and WiFi fine. Breakfast fine. Fan unit in the room. A few seats in back garden.

No negatives - although note that the desk closes at 1600. So don't forget your key card.
