Hotel de Geneve

We had the twin bed corner room. The bed was comfortable and was quite large. I didn’t realise that Switzerland had a different plug than the rest of Europe but the receptionist was lovely and got us adapters. We didn’t have the breakfast but by seeing the price of a coffee and cake in other cafes the 5 fr is worth it. Very convenient for the station and would stay here again if visiting Geneva as long as we could have this room

Location was great. A free public transport pass was emailed a day before the stay which provided access to train, bus/tram and ferry and included the airport transfer. Mercier stop is outside the hotel and will take you to old town and Goulart, across the road goes to the train station if you don't fancy the short walk.

Nothing to say really. It was exactly what I needed.

Good central location for walking around town and to/from train station. We arrived at 1pm and our room was available. Staff was excellent, helpful and accommodating. Hotel offered a small breakfast for 5 CHF to get you started for the day, consisting of 1 cup coffee/tea; small croissant and orange juice, a very good value. Hotel had an elevator. Our room had a balcony. Room was quiet. My bed was comfortable, but my wife found her bed to be a little saggy.

There was absolutely no cons to be found at this establishment.

Pavel, who is front of house, went out of his way to help with everything. He was an absolute highlight of the place. The location of the hotel is excellent - very easy walking distance to everything we wanted to see as well as to the main station of Geneva. We also really appreciated the free travel card supplied by the hotel - which included a ticket for my son's bicycle when we returned to the airport! Great luggage storage also helped us, as said bicycle would have taken up half of our room if had to "live" with us. The hotel in general, has a very comfortable, well worn, homey vibe...It's extremely clean but is the complete opposite of a personality-less hotel chain. It's full of little Swiss ornaments, woodwork etc and has couches and books on the elevator landings. It feels like a classic European family run hotel. We loved staying here.

The room, and especially the ensuite, was a little tight, but perhaps some of the other rooms are more spacious...

Small, well-kept hotel near the river, within easy walking distance from both the railway station and the old town. I stayed there when I spent an extra night in Geneva after a work-trip and really can’t say that I missed anything from the swanky upmarket hotel except the breakfast buffet. Here, breakfast is a rather frugal affair, more like what you get in an Italian bar.

In any other city I would’ve thought this hotel too expensive compared to what they offer, but Geneva is an extremely expensive city.

Geneva Switzerland is not a cheap place. This hotel is centrally located, offers a very inexpensive nice continental breakfast, has nice rooms and all was ok. Just two doors away is a very nice café that had good beer and very cool scene of sophisticated french-speaking locals.

There was an issue with the TV. I think it was satellite and it was not receiving the channels properly. Because I had my laptop and wifi, it was not a problem.

The room was basic but comfortable, in the same way the bathroom was functional. This is not a luxury hotel but it's perfect for one or two nights if you are looking to explore the city. The reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, we asked for advise where to go to best see the city and we had the best information possible

Hotel de Geneve is a great value location in a VERY expensive city, despite not being incredibly modern, the room was large and comfortable, with a great view looking out onto a crossroads and a church. The reception staff were all incredibly kind and helpful, the gentleman who checked me in helped with directions and sightseeing in Geneva which was very useful as I hadn't been to Geneva before. Overall, this is a great place to stay in Geneva if you're not too bothered about having slightly "old-fashioned" rooms!

The rooms/ interior design are quite dated, this doesn't bother me personally but is something to be considered before booking.

Rooms are clean. Pavala, from the front desk has been very informative and helpful. Strategically located. Manor St, just a few minutes walk, where you can get convenient shops. There's a delicious Chinese restaurant, BAOTI, nearby too. This hotel just a few minutes away from shopping areas and the famous church. Hasn't much array.of.breakfast but still good to catch for a quick one. Will definitely come again.

Great location near Cornavin but just away from the really busy areas, very convenient for the river/lake, Université de Genève and the Plainpalais area, etc. Quite a charming hotel, more so than you'd usually get for the price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room with a decent amount of space.

Bathroom was small and I felt a bit cramped in the shower. It was entirely clean and functional though so not a big problem. Breakfast was a bit basic but there are plenty of cafés and bakeries nearby if you want something else. The hall on my floor smelt of cigarette smoke, though the room didn't.
