Everything was clean and comfy. The location was perfect for a family. Close enough to easily walk to where we wanted to go, but far enough to not hear the bar party noise. We had a terrific sleep every night. The walk out the back gate to the beach was very convenient. I would rate this as the perfect family stay!

The nearest beach was the dog beach, which we loved visiting with the dogs, but there seems to be a culture of people not picking up their dog's poop. Out of 20 people, only 1 actually picked up after their dog. There is even a free supply of doogie bags at the main beach entrance. This is all beyond the control of the hotel, and you could walk 3 minutes further to avoid the dog zone if you wanted to.

If you call the motel directly their staff are exceptionally responsive, helpful & friendly (don't bother messaging through the booking.com app if you want prompt responses). They accomodated our constantly changing arrival time and arranged a late check-out for us which was so incredibly appreciated. Rooms are clean, the beds are SO comfortable. Just test out a few pillows to find the one that's right! Water was hot and shower pressure excellent even at peak time. I was expecting it to be noisier but sound wasn't an issue.

The curtains for the main door/window don't quite reach the floor which means the room is very bright, very early as the sun rises on that side. If you really need it dark, pop some pillows along the floor on that side. I think just by the nature of the location, all accomodation in Byron is incredibly overpriced so I understand this isn't specific to this accom. At $270 for a Saturday night this is comparable with high end hotel accomodation rather than a standard, no frills motel room. If the accomodation had been $100 less it might have felt like "fair enough its a Saturday night", but at $270 there's absolutely no way I'd book again for two people. I'd book again if the price was right.

close to the beach and town, free parking in a area where parking is limited and costly. nice pool. body boards for free to use on the beach. cleanliness. we walked to the lighthouse from there, nice walk back and forth without paying for parking.

rooms are very outdated, and look better on the pictures than they were in reality. we booked a room with two beds which we get but one of the beds was a bunk bed with two beds above each other. not very comfy and very noisy when moving in the bed. the direct beach access was fenced off due to errosion and also pretty much overgrown, so we had to walk like 10 minutes to the main beach access, still better than parking there and

The motel had a nice open layout with rooms arranged on one side of the property, and was handy that we could park our car right in front of our room. I liked that the front door was automatically locked so didn't have to fuss about locking (but make sure you don't forget your keys). The room key gives you access to a shortcut to the beach across the train tracks. The room was spacious and clean.

The shower curtain wasn't very useful - it didn't close completely so when you shower, water gets leaked to the main bathroom area, but there was a drain, so no big deal.

The location was great, very short walk to town centre. There was private access to a beautiful beach just a short stroll through a wooded path behind the hotel. After checkout we didn't leave town until late in the afternoon and the hotel kindly allowed us to store our bags behind reception. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly

The bathroom and separate toilet was clean but maybe could have been improved with an update.

The staff are super friendly, the room very spacious and clean. We had no expectations, travelling with my sister and 3 boys. There is front and rear access to the room, it was lovely to swim in the pool and to be able to sit outside the room. The location is fabulous, walk through the back gate to the beach and literally a couple of minutes to the shops. Highly recommend if you are looking for no frills, easy access, clean accommodation. We stayed 2 nights and will stay again.

We only stayed for one night and didn’t meet any staff during our stay, but I only have positive things to say about the Wollongbar Motel. Our room was large and comfortable with lots of space for our luggage. The bed was huge. There was a fridge and a kettle in the room, and some milk which was a lovely touch for making tea & coffee on arrival. Great shower. The perfect location for exploring Byron Bay.

Nothing really. It’s not luxury accommodation but was absolutely perfect for what we needed.

loved the easy check in process, the room key provides entry to the back beach entrance which i didn’t know they had, a small walk through the trail and your just off the main beach, the bed was large and comfortable bedding felt clean and crisp. we managed parking right at our door so loading and unloading the car even for just one night was a breeze wish I’d stayed longer.

The shower could use a good scrub to remove that hard build up but not anything you wouldn’t see anywhere else no complaints

Location was in easy walking distance from town. This was useful as all parking in the area is charged at $5:per hour. Also has easy access to a beach via a back path.

Dated room could use a refresh especially in the bathroom. Also there is no lift so if the room is on the 1st floor you need to carry your bags up the stairs. The balcony is shared across all the rooms and so this is a possible lack of privacy. Also the curtains in the room do not fully close to blackout the light that streams from the balcony lights and in the mornings.

Value for money, everything you need for a good stay in town. Some basics to help make breakfast (toaster & kettle). Comfortable king sized bed which was better than expected. Excellent location, walking distance to many restaurants, bars, cafes, supermarkets etc.

Room a bit dark during the day, even with all the lights on. Lights on the balcony stay on all night and the curtains don’t quite cover the windows.
