Very comfortable stay. Value for money, everyday housekeeping staffs cleaned our room thanks for that. Beautiful pool setup with palm trees.Highly recommend place to stay in Cairns..

Reception staff ( Short hair Lady) was very rude. When we first entered she started like what you want- really is this the way to treat customers . After i said i have booked for 3 days stay she was acting like she is paying for my stay. She responded very rudely for my questions and went to smoke. Next day she did same to other customer i guess even he would have felt the same way. Please educate her or change her she is spoiling your reputation. Not fit for receptionist job. Other then that our stay was good.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would return in the future if I were to return to Cairns. The hotel is more in the style of a motel, similar to ones you find in the USA. The room was spacious and immaculately clean. The laundry facilities were great for anyone who needed to use them. There were tea and coffee supplies updated every day and a fridge in the room to keep any supplies purchased nice and fresh. There was also a hairdryer, an iron and ironing board in the room. There was a daily maid service, fresh towels were supplied daily upon request. The reception staff also supplied crockery and cutlery when I asked, although this wasn’t standard in the room.

There is no restaurant, cafe or bar on site. There is however a shopping centre 5 minutes walk away, where you’ll find a range of places to purchase food and a Woolworths store to purchase your own provisions. The addition of a cafe or bar in the evening would have been useful. It seemed when I stayed there people go out during the day, but return early evening and there’s nowhere to socialise or mix with other guests. There are no cooking facilities or a microwave in the room which I might have made use of use of.

Rooms are all the same, huge with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, or you can split the douvle jnto two singles. All rooms with pool view and peivate balcony/ sittinf area. The rooms must have been refurbished at some stage, they are very modern, very comfortable, huge bathroom too, very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of information available in the main reception for tours of Cairns surroundings, whether you are wanting to head out to the Barrier Reef or the rainforest. They can book tours for you too. The hotel is only 5 min walk from the Raintree shoping centre for Woolies, which is convenient since there are no restaurants at or near the hotel.

The rooms might be modern and comfortable but OMG was it noisy outside. On the pool side you can hear kids playing in the pool from early hour, and your neighbours conversations on the balcony and through the walls of your room. On the road side of your room you will hear a mixture of housekeeping trolleys, the delivery trucks, people arguing on the street, and suitcase being dragged on towards the elevator on the early hours of the kerning. Definitely do not go there for peace and quiet. The hotel is too far from the city centre to be able to walk to most attractions. You will need to vook in a taxi, Uber, or use the bus which stops at the shopping centre next door.

The hotel was awesome and such great value for money. Comfy bed and pillows and the staff were so friendly. We loved both pools as well as the view from our room. The laundry facility was convenient

The location was quite far from the city, but there is a supermarket across the road and a coffee shop which is quite good. So if you don’t want to go to the city often, it’s great

The Palm Royale impressed us from the moment we checked in. The rooms were immaculate, and beautifully presented, the staff members in reception were really friendly. We loved having a balcony that looked over the pool areas. The housekeeping staff also came and replaced our used towels every day while we were out, which was very appreciated as there wasn't a great deal of space to let towels dry in the bathroom. It oozed that fancy tropical resort charm without breaking the bank and is only about an 11 minute drive to the beachfront and city.

This isn't so much a bad thing but more of a heads up-only street parking is available.

The room was clean, grounds are well-maintained and the pool is gorgeous. There is plenty of on-site parking (3 parking lots). All staff I interacted with were very pleasant and helpful. There is a coffee place and a Woolworths right across the street. It's about a 15 min drive into Cairns downtown.

Room is a bit tired and in need of some updating. There was a bit of road noise but it didn't stop me from sleeping. Wifi is very slow (~2 mb upload) and they give you tickets for 8 hr - 1 per day but they're only good for one device. If you're just scrolling social media, it's probably fine but you're not going to be doing any video calls for work.

The rooms are big, the property is clean and the pools are great. I love the tropical oasis feel of the facility, the staff are friendly and helpful and always on duty.

The facility is used as a training facility and some of the students get drunk and fight at night. The facility was a bit far from Cairns when we were relying on ride share, but when we hired a car this wasn’t a problem….though there doesn’t seem to be enough parking for the number of rooms. There are no breakfast facilities, but there is a great cafe across the road. Avoid the rooms on the highway side of the building, much quieter on the other side of the building. The pools are not heated, so a bit chilly in the cool season. An opportunity for solar pool heating of at least one of the two pools perhaps?

The rooms were big, air-conditioning worked very well including the overhead fan. The location of the hotel is a 9 mins walk to the bus station to the city. Also Uber and Taxi services available if one needs to do a quick errand to the city. There is a huge swimming pool. Unfortunately we did not use it but next time we plan another visit we should try it out.

Locating the Laundry areas was difficult although it was captured in the floor map of the facility. So we ended up taking all our dirty laundry back with us. The isle is abit too narrow and often obstructed by the cleaning personnel trolley.

The pools are awesome at this hotel. Our family room was on the backside of the hotel overlooking the lap pool and it was a truly great room. Spacious balcony, little kitchen and two seperate rooms which made it great for the kids to have their own room with another tv too. Quiet, clean and comfortable beds. This room was a winner!

We needed to stay for one more night and we were given a family room on the busy road side of the hotel. It was the same price as the other room but we were so disappointed after the room we’d been in. It was a single room with 4 beds, no kitchen and the noise from the road made it hard to sleep. So glad we didn’t get that room for the previous 5 nights we’d stayed. My advice would be to ask where the room is in the hotel before you book.

Room is always very clean and comfortable and I stay at Palm Royale as its central to my visits to Cairns to visit my Mother who lives a street away. Also the range of food outlets close by.

I have been spoilt many years ago when there was an operational restaurant at the Hotel so I miss the onsite restaurant. Also some of the other guests can be noisy returning to their rooms in the early hours of the morning but I don't think anything can be done about that. Whilst the rooms are comfortable and clean, the carpet is starting to show its wear n tear and bottom to the walls are as well.
