Checked it at 10pm. Reception was closed but security guard was around and very helpful n professional He paged the reception and another gentleman attended promptly 2 my check in a professional manner.

Everything was perfect. Only thing was there wasn't a washer amongst the towels to use in the shower. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash was single use only so you weren't able to have 2 showers if you wanted to. More signage to Motel reception required.

The room service meals are yum! Not the best suburb in cairns, but always feel safe with the security gates. The beds are the best I've slept in, so comfortable, and lots of pillows. Great location, central to what I need to do when I'm in cairns.

Probably keep all the smokers in one area, I felt abit guilty smoking outside my room with non-smokers beside me. Or maybe set up a designated smoking area.

Balaclava Hotel was a great place for a one night stay. We stayed in a Queen Studio room which was excellent. Recently completely renovated and very modern. Bathroom and shower were really excellent. All facilities were very clean. The accommodation is at the rear of the hotel, so there is no noise or disturbance from the hotel itself. Car parking is also secure with car parked immediately outside room.

Stayed 2 nights with a friend and thought the little breakfast boxes we could get for both mornings but only could get for one morning. And water bottles got one each for the stay

We had to book a night's stay last minute and I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very clean, we had a lovely shower and a 5-star sleep. Felt very safe here and no noise disturbances. Secure car parking space included. Fast free wifi. We checked in late at 8pm and the staff were kind helping us and even offered a little breakfast pack.

Hotel itself was a bit hard to find, easier to find the bar and ask the staff there but not a major - everything was great really

I was very impressed with the security system you have especially considering the crime rate in Cairns. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Will stay again without a doubt 😊

The only thing I would say that needs to be improved would be the gate security locking device for walkers. It was far too low and not easy to read. In the end we just used the security gate for cars to come through as we only had to wave the card without putting in a pin.

The staff were very pleasant when checking in and helped us with any enquiries we had. The room was not cramped at all and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and also roomy.

The carpark area outside the rooms was very dark. I was with a sight impaired friend and it was too dark for us to walk to the dining room. Perhaps some solar lights in the gardens could help.

We had the three bedroom apartment and it was quite roomy, the rooms were comfortable and private, we really liked having our own TV and air conditioner in each room. It was very secure and the bar and bistro was just a walk away. The staff were exceptional with their service and the way they treat their guests. We had an issue crop up during our stay and the staff couldn't have been more supportive and helpful. Thank you especially to manager Bella and Rhonda. 😊

There was a car park at the back of our hotel which could sometimes be a little noisy.

The security of the gate was great makes you feel at ease. Rooms are nice for what they are. Very clean. Shower was really good. And was really quiet Will stay again definitely.

No where to sit outside. Minimal outdoor chairs near rooms not a huge thing just would have like a chair even

Cleaning staff went above and beyond to assist with our unwell toddler in the morning. Didn't get to see much of the area or facilities as it was a stopover for the night. Set back from road behind the gate, so quiet and felt secure.

Unsure. What we experienced was good for overnight.
