Hotel was a 2 km walk from train station so a bit inconvenient if you don't have a car but walk along the sea front was spectacular and we came to Cardwell to walk on Hinchinbrook Island so no problem. Hotel offered to pick us up from station if needed. Nice room with all usual amenities plus access to laundry in attached caravan park. The on site restaurant is probably the best in Cardwell and excellent value. Best garlic bread I have ever had and their Lamb pizza was brilliant. My partner also raved about the barramundi. Very nice atmosphere with a mix of older grey nomads and families from the caravan park and couples from the hotel/motel. Typical friendly country vibe. Looked after our spare bags whilst walking the Thorsborne Trail

A bit of a walk into town if you don't have a car. During school holidays kids tend to dominate the pool area.

view from room was great - raining most of our stay, but still good sea views & Hinchinbrook Island - walked across road to wet a line, great !

meal wasn't up to scratch, pork was tough as boots - wiater took it back & replaced with a different meal - beautiful barra and prawns, could not fault !

Modern, clean and comfortable.

The air conditioning in the room wasn’t very effective. It kept coming on and off (would be nice if it just gave a steady output) and didn’t make the room cool enough (could have done with it being a degree or two cooler at night). It was positioned so it blew straight onto one of the beds.

This is constructive comment. I consider this property to have huge potential. It’s location and size is excellent. Staff were great and is associated restaurant was above and beyond good. A wonderful surprise. To realise its potential, I’d respectfully suggest several areas are time for revamp and upgrading for 2023 and next decade. A fresh design set of eyes and no doubt $m2-$m4 could be invested, but absolutely worthwhile.

Nothing comes to mind. Location perfect. Size and variety of accommodation perfect. Restaurant perfect. Park design sort of 80,S instead of 2030,S

Wonderful location and good on-site restaurant for dinner. Easy to walk out the front door and across the street to watch the sunrise over the ocean. My young sons loved the swimming pool, which had a great big shallow area for my baby to play on. Would happily stay here again.

I was able to have the food I ordered from the restaurant, delivered to my room, on a very rainy night. The restaurant is on site but not owned/managed by Cardwell beachcomber. So kind of the staff to do that.

The entry door light inside would turn on but then go out so not very useful.

Great location straight over road from beach, staff friendly & helpful, town really nice, clean and low key. Room was fresh and clean at times felt a little cramped

Nothing, we found the town and park great. There’s a great walking track along the beach right opposite the the park that takes you along the beach to town. No complaints just enjoyable

Very clean, lovely staff, comfy bed, good size shower. Then there is the location, just beautiful. Shops are within walking distance.

I am aware that the restaurant being closed was out of the managers hands but it would have been nice to dine there.

Well located next to beach .friendly welcome especially a note indicating who cleaned the room.We had a partial view of the beach . Room very clean and roomy.Appreciated it was supplied with a microwave. The restaurant was busy ,so we had sunset drink only. We would defiantly stay again.

Perhaps a little more dusting on the fan ,not too bad though.When booking would be a good idea to let us know there are steps into this accomodation,we may have missed this on the booking site.

really nice location, restaurant onsite which had fabulous food. Bed was quite comfortable.

Room was ok but floors were still quite wet from being cleaned and there was some sand still on the floors that had been missed. while I’m not fussy, I wasn’t too fond of the shower. it was old and while it was clean, it didn’t look/feel like it.
