We enjoyed our time at Smuggler’s Rest. It’s situated in a nice spot, near the beach. The apartment is a good size, with separate rooms. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was well-resourced. It was great to have a laundry on site.

I suspect renovations are happening and look forward to them. We noted there were no fly screens on the windows, the curtains were too long and got in the way a bit. Small things need attention and will no doubt improve in time.

It was quite comfortable and a great location near to the beach. Great to have microwave & stove, although we did not use the stove. Beds were comfy.

We were cold, the air con remote said not to press the mode key, just use the temperature buttons. But this did not work. you need to change mode for warmth. Some more bench space in kitchen would be beneficial.

The view from my bed of the full moon and the lovely privacy and quiet more than made up for any negatives. Parking right outside my unit under carport. Walk to the nearby ships and pier.

Occasional yapping dogs in the adjacent unit. Although I was travelling alone I thought I would have access to the other bedrooms. I only had access to the living room which doubled as a bedroom. No closet was the main negative

The beds were comfortable. The facilities were very good. The staff were friendly. The room was clean. I loved the convection/ microwave oven. I appreciated the prompt help when we had an issue.

Though I'm not some who likes lots of information, I think letting people know about the laundry facilities would be great. I think it would be great to have some tourist information leaflets. The lighting in the lounge room wasn't very good.

We love southern Tasmania and have stayed at the Smugglers Rest on a number of occasions over the years. Irene is so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Crisp sheets and cosy bedding. A great location - close to jetty, town beach, short walk to shops and dining options. A full kitchen meant we could eat at home on some nights and start the days without a scramble. Reverse cycle keeps the property warm.

We had no complaints.

Our unit was on the end and allowed the afternoon sunlight to stream in and warm to rooms. Everything worked fine and the heating was fine which was important given then 2 degree overnight temperatures.

Could do with a bit of a spruce up externally as the first impression wasn’t great.

was very quiet & peacfull such a lovely location very close to all sites we were hoping to see all other things like shops hotels were within a short walk

was so cosy no noise what so ever you could either sit & watch telly which i might had was handy with netfix etc availible all cooking facilities were very convenient

Very large room with fully stocked kitchen. Walking distance to the beach. Laundry facilities free to use. Quiet location. Lovely little touches like shower caps provided with soaps and laundry detergent provided.

Great location and view. Room was well presented, very clean and tastefully decorated. Nice kitchenette with everything needed. The beds and bedding were comfortable and plenty of heating. Central location and a great base to get out and explore the area. Great for travel with the family.

The wifi wasn’t good. Only worked in the early hours of the morning and not during the day/evening but we were out most of the time exploring the beautiful area. Lighting out the front wasn’t good. Very dark to get to and from car after dark.
