Everything! For a modest motel it was the best place we stayed in our entire trip around Tassie and Melbourne. We were so surprised with what these owners has packed into this country motel room. Anything you could have wished for was in this room. It was great value too. The decor and styling are appropriate to the age of the motel so not modern but updated accordingly, looked perfect to us, they had thought of everything, right down to a non slip mat if you needed it. Friendly staff, spotlessly clean, great internet and so glad we stayed there. Restaurant was booked out by a bus tour so cannot comment on that. When travelling through Queenstown an overnight stay here will be pleasant and delightfully not bust your budget. We loved it and hope the owners enjoy many fully booked weeks as they deserve it for all their attention to detail and thoughtfulness in the room set up.

Nothing, it was all great.

We had a lovely 3-night stay at the Gold Rush Motor Inn. The room was sparkling clean, nicely decorated and exceptionally well-equipped with a kitchenette that included a good-sized fridge, sink, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery and dishes. It was very spacious with lots of room to spread out, and the bed with its lovely linens was oh so comfortable. The accommodation is slightly away from the main business district of the town, but Queenstown is a pretty small place, so this didn't matter in the least. The location is excellent for driving to Montezuma Falls (about an hour), Strahan and Hogarth Falls (45 minutes), Iron Blow and the Horsetail Falls. Upon leaving Queenstown, it is a pleasant (1.5 hour) drive to Cradle Mountain.

After hearing some grim stories about Queenstown accomodation, there was no choice but to book here as the rest of Queenstown and Strahan booked out. On arrival just looked like a normal motel, however receptionist greeted us with a smile and was most helpful and accommodating and our room left us a bit speechless as very clean, spacious, comfortable with beautiful decor. Everything we needed was available, even biscuits for our coffee - an added bonus as this doesn't happen anymore. Very quiet location gave us a good nights sleep. Recommended to go to the Empire for Dinner and once again blown away by the quality and quantity of food and menu and helpfulness of the staff who were all very proactive, happy and helpful. All in all a great experience and would return there again

Good location, clean rooms, comfortable beds, excellent high speed internet (80Mbs), friendly reception, restaurant meal prices were reasonable and friendly staff. Kitchen facilities were good, refrigerator, microwave, sink were good. Split A/C - Heating was great. Hot water was instant and with plenty pressure. Parking was available near room.

It would have been great if there was a cooking facility such as a cooktop or BBQ. There was none. Paid washing machine was OK, but clothes dryer didn’t work well had to use three times to dry clothes. Parking was very close to rooms, so didn’t sleep after early morning due to car noise and cleaners making noise.

1st time in Tasmania and couldn't get 2 nights in Strahan for the river cruise so booked our first night here, what a mistake. We should have stayed here a week and explored the surrounding areas. The room was brilliant with cooking facilities etc. We prefer to cater for ourselves at least half the time and make lunches to save a bit of money. The attached restaurant was good and the staff super friendly and helpful. We are planning to return to Tasmania to explore it in more depth and will definitely be booking accommodation here again.

Nothing comes to mind

Location very central. Lady in reception was very friendly. Check in was quick and easy. Beds very comfortable

When we got back from dinner someone had parked in the spot in front of our room. There were lots of cars on the grounds. More cars than the number of rooms. I found it difficult to find an alternative car park. The one I eventually found was quite a long way from our room. This was less than ideal for an older person needing to load two heavy suitcases and other bits and pieces. Added to that it was raining so I had further to walk in the rain

Queenstown motel. Excellent 1 night stay in the western Tasmanian district. Was taking the Strahan cruise the next morning and needed a 2 bed facility for the night before. Absolutely what we needed. clean. Supportive staff. Parked right out side the room door. Good kitchen. Good shower. Sleep well. No noise. Easily would stay again

All was good. What we needed

Very clean, well situated accommodation. Very helpful reception staff with good local knowledge. Had wifi which actually worked! Generous amounts of tea/coffee. Plenty of thick, clean towels in the bathroom.

Kitchenette didn't have enough plates, cups etc. Only one sharp knife - a bread knife - which made it awkward to chop up fruit & veg.

The shower was great, plenty of pressure and handheld.

The screeching noise caused by the person taking a shower in the adjoining room, the plumbing needs some maintenance and I mentioned this to the owner, but as friendly as he was, he didn’t make much effort to fix the problem to improve the quality of our stay. This noise occurred about midnight while we were trying to sleep, also many other guests were very noisy and inconsiderate as they arrived very late in the evening.
