The location and building where wonderful, as well as most of the people working there, which were kind and accommodating.

There is a man who works at the front desk, which seemed to be upset more often than not, and made us feel more like we were intruding than if we were guests. Almost ruined the experience for us …almost, if it wasn’t for the rest of the nice people working there.

We got one of the best rooms in the house, the view was amazing!!! The room was also spacious with an unexpectedly modern bathroom (even with a bathtub!). The hotel also provided two gigantic fans against the heat. The location was excellent (parking in a parking garage nearby absolutely fine). The breakfast room was magnificent.

Unfortunately, the breakfast itself was a big disappointment, which diminished the otherwise perfect stay: The boiled eggs were inedible, a lot (e.g. the marmelade) was packaged in plastic. Options were generally very limited, no fresh vegetables (e.g. cucumber).

Everything went well here. It was everything that we expected and more. The breakfast was wonderful. All the adults ate in the dining room, expensive, but super delicious and so much fun. The location was excellent, right on the canal with the canal boat check in area right near the entrance. Bruges is such a quaint town and this hotel is part of that quaintness. We would definitely stay here again.

We were on the middle floor and our accommodations were great. Some of our children were on the top floor and for them it was unbearably hot. I don't think they would want to stay there again. There was no air conditioning and even with fans they said it was very hot. Just avoid the top floor and you'll be fine.

Excellent location, staff friendly and most helpful, all speaking 4 different languages fluently. The rooms were very clean with tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast/dining room was superb, with beautiful views of Bruges. We had dinner at the hotel on our last night and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere on the terrace outside.

A few things could be updated, such as showers over bath might be better as just a good quality shower. I missed a bit of drawer space in the room, and would have preferred wider pillows. A little more variety in the breakfast selection might make it first class. I could not get my tv to work but did not miss that, however quick "idiot's guide " could have proved useful.

This hotel is right on the canal, and literally apart of “one of the most picturesque views in Belgium” (as per our tour guide). Our room looked like it had been recently updated apart from the bathroom. It was clean and the best part was that it looked right onto the canal! The staff here are very friendly and professional.

Our bathroom was a little out of date and there was no stand up shower, had to sit in the tub to wash due to the height of the ceiling (not really an issue for us but could be difficult if you have mobility issues). We could have used more and a little better quality pillows on our bed but other than those things this place was amazing!

We had the junior canal suite, and it was spacious and beautifully furnished. The bathroom is modern, clean, and roomy, with reliable water temperature and pressure. The view from the room is to die for -- just a beautiful view of the canal and architecturally fascinating buildings on the other side. The photo posted is that view.

The staff was helpful but for breakfast and other purposes, sometimes unavailable and seemed stretched too thin. Probably an understaffing situation like so many places are experiencing, especially considering the throngs of tourists entering the city by train each hour or so. We wouldn't hesitate to book here again, though, if we are ever lucky enough to go back.

Quirky little hotel in an excellent location. You can’t drive to the front door but have to schlep your bags from the parking garage. Interesting dining room with great views. Good breakfast.

Pack light....no elevator. No shower in our room #15 and no AC. Thankfully it was cool overnight. The man behind the desk ( the owner?) was very blunt and unpleasant. You would think he could say at least: Welcome, thank you for staying with us. The young women at breakfast needed help and snapped at me when I went to the bar for a second cup of coffee. “ I don’t like to be rushed” she said. Checking out she was very pleasant and nice.

excellent location in the centre. we were able to have an apartment over looking the river. the bathroom was large and clean.

it was raining and I was feeling unwell so my husband brought me up food which the owner said we cannot eat in our rooms so were made to sit outside in the rain surrounded by smokers which was difficult with my breathing. beds uncomfortable and constantly falling in the centre as they are 2 single mattresses. breakfast very basic. with not many options.

The hotel is in the heart of the city. It is a great location and adjacent to a canal. . We walked from the train station and it took 20 minutes to get to the hotel. The restaurant has lovely views onto the canal. The breakfast was great with excellent service from the young lady looking after us. The breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice. Our room was a good size with a spotless bathroom.

Front desk staff could have been friendlier. No lift. Our room was on the third floor and it was difficult getting suitcase up the narrow staircase. Our room was advertised with a canal view but you had to climb up several steps to get a view. We would be happy to stay here again.

This room at the hotel had the most spectacular view of any room that we had in Europe during our three weeks stay. The hotel's location was perfect. The old world charm of the hotel was a great surprise and we enjoyed looking out over the canal. Bruges is a delightful city, one of our favorites during years of travel.

We did not feel welcomed by the owners of the hotel. The gentlemen was not very pleasant. He told us we could not eat in our room when we brought some leftovers from our restaurant meal. It is unusual to have the proprietors so rude.
