The property is great. With a name like Belize Budget Suites my expectations were not high at all...The photos looked great but I have fallen for that before. The apartment was just great. All of the rooms have been individually decorated a theme and are spotlessly clean with everything you need...kitchen utensils, coffee machine, iron, washing up liquid...it's all there. The host is just lovely as are the other staff. The pre arrival information you receive is exceptional to make the most of your stay, as well as when you are there. The position is ideal with a hotel close by if you wish to use their facilities, local restaurants within minutes walk with the best food. We loved it

The rooms are a bit musty. They need to be aired out after each guest leaves. It is a 30 minute walk from the ferry terminal, so keep that in mind. Cabs are not cheap!

My friend and I had a fantastic time staying here for our 5 nights in San Pedro. The hotel is in a great location, close enough to town but in a quiet neighborhood where we were able to rest well. The rooms are gorgeously furnished and cozy with a well-equipped kitchenette and spacious bathroom. The room was definitely worth the price and we really enjoyed the restaurants nearby and coming and going on our day trips. Lucinda, Jose, and Miriam are wonderfully kind and made sure we were having a great stay. They perfectly exemplify the friendly, caring, and relaxed spirit of Belize. Would absolutely come back in a heartbeat and hope to again soon.

Nothing - the place was fantastic

We really liked the entire suite. It was in a quiet location, the suite was very clean, the bed comfortable and Jose, the manager was very helpful with all our requests. We liked the ability to cater for ourselves in the kitchenette. It was nicely decorated inside and out and we felt at home there. The added bonus for us, being wildlife enthusiasts, were the birds that visited the lovely garden area of the property.

It was a bit of a trek into the centre of San Pedro but it is perfectly doable, as we walked in and out every day. It is easy to get a taxi if you don't want to walk for Bze $20 each way. It would have been nice to have more hooks in the bathroom. Other than that it was great and perfect for us.

The lady at check-in, who owns and runs the place, was very friendly and helpful. She offers lots of helpful tips and information about restaurants, beach access, stores, taxi driver contact numbers, ferry schedules - you name it! We received lots of information even before our arrival, which really helped us plan our trip. The room we stayed in (Room 8, which I think is called the Jungle Room?) was wonderful! As soon as we stepped in, we felt we were at home. We appreciated the little details and the murals on the wall. Having a kitchenette was great, especially since we wanted to have some local fruit from the nearby fruit stall. You can get a 20-liter (?) container of water at reception for 3 USD, which was great since we did not have a car, and it would have been a hassle to lug so much water back to the hotel from the shop - and trust me, you need a lot of water to stay hydrated in the heat here! The bedroom area was a separate room, which made us feel more like we were in an apartment and not in a hotel room. Internet connection was great, and I was able to get some work done remotely while there. The location worked great for us as we weren't looking to party on this trip, so we purposefully chose a place far from all the action in the center of town, but we did walk into town to catch a flight to Caye Caulker, and that took about 30 minutes. It was almost 40 degrees Celsius when we were there, so the walk was not all that pleasant, but it is doable - just not when the sun is directly above you, like it was on our way back. All in all, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy place in a quiet location. We both agree that we would come back to this place if we ever find ourselves in San Pedro again!

We are not necessarily beach enthusiasts, but when we checked out the nearby public access beach (5 minutes away on foot), there were mounds of seaweed / kelp that had washed up and were starting to stink up the beach. Locals told us that this happens every year and that the beach is usually cleaned up, so it was probably just our luck that we were there before it was cleared away. This reflects nothing on the hotel property itself, but this information might be useful for those envisioning a beach vacation.

I would love to stay here again! The location was great - the hotel is on a beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood a short walk from two public beach access points. It is also walking distance to restaurants, fruit stands, and groceries. The suite was creatively decorated, and the cleanliness and comfort were exceptional. We cooked breakfast in the suite each day and then set out for adventures. The staff were welcoming and helped us arrange a golf cart (delivered to the hotel) at a great rate. The guests next door were very loud (despite being asked to be quiet), so Lucinda and Jose helped us move to a different room that was quieter. Both rooms we stayed in were impeccably decorated, comfortable and clean. The staff are truly wonderful and really helped to make our stay comfortable and fun. Highly recommend!

This place is the best value you will find in all of San Pedro. The rooms are updated and finished very nicely. The coffee is amazing and the hosts were very nice and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, including the fold out futon. The sheets were soft and the shower is just amazing. Tons of hot water and soaps were provided. It is just a 1/2 mile south of the action in San Pedro/Amberguis Cay. If it were located in the middle of the bar/restaurant scene the price would be double what they charge at least. Tucked 1 block into a neighborhood with a very large lot and beautiful plants and trees you will wake to the sounds of mother nature. If I ever go back to San Pedro I will look to book this property. If you are on the fence, don't waste anymore time and book this place!

I recently stayed at Belize Budget Suites in San Pedro, and it was fantastic! The entire property was spotless, with fresh linens and well-maintained facilities. The cozy suite felt like a home away from home, featuring comfortable furniture and a very comfy bed. Despite being close to the beach and attractions, it was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The suite was also impressively spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting area, and ample storage space—a rare find in budget accommodations. The staff I met, especially Jose, were very friendly. Nani was super helpful and responsive helping me with my questions about San Pedro via WhatsApp. Overall, Belize Budget Suites offers an ideal blend of cleanliness, coziness, quietness, and spaciousness. Highly recommended!

Very clean accommodation in a quiet, safe location. Lucinda, Jose & Miriam were really fantastic- always there to help when needed. The kitchen was adequately equipped for simple meals, coffee was provided which was nice. Close to the beach and several restaurants & stores within walking distance. Reasonably priced for SAN Pedro.

The walk to town is about 45 minutes on the beach so if you don’t like walking you need to rent a golf cart for the entire stay or use taxis which cost $10USD per trip. We didn’t have any WIFI in our room which was an inconvenience.

Everything was as expected, except I wish I'd known it was going to be two twin beds, as I would have preferred a full or double. The bed, and the pillows, could have been more comfy, but other than that, it was perfect for my needs - quiet and centrally located for where I needed to go. The staff was very nice too, and I felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay.
