The room was clean and nice-looking. The bed was extra comfy and cozy. We appreciated having a mini fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker. We also liked the opportunity to play a bit of basketball! Unfortunately, the shower didn't work well. The water was either freezing or boiling. No in-between.

Unfortunately, the shower in room 8 didn't work well at all. The water was either freezing or boiling. No in-between. When we put the lever in the middle, the water cut off completely. Had to fill the tub and have a bath instead.

Having booked a deluxe room we had a fantastic view of the lake and surrounding area, nice quiet area and the Scottish Heritage Museum next door was very interesting to visit

The attached inn had a Ceilidh night and we weren't informed that we had to pay for the Ceilidh when we sat down to eat and only found out when it was added on to our bill at the end, I feel this should be explained at the outset then we could have decided whether to stay or wait till it had finished to eat. There was similar music on our second night yet that time there was no charge. For us the music was too loud to have a conversation even though we sat upstairs

It overlooks the Bras d’Or lake and every room has a lake view. We sat on our deck and watched a pair of bald eagles teach their young how to fly. You are in close proximity with your neighbours, but everyone was friendly and chill. There is an on site liquor and convenience store, and restaurant with a great view, local beers, and different events like trivia night and live music. They serve an exceptional hot buffet breakfast every morning as well (not included in room price). I easily could spend a couple days just at the inn and have a great time.

It’s across the street from a school and we were there while school was in so we could hear the bells and all the loud speaker announcements from the deck.

Although we had a great view, and the location is interesting but far away from any tourists attractions, a park or beach etc. It would be at least an hour drive to places of interest. They have a pub on site that offers pretty good meals, there are no other choices nearby. This something to keep in mind when booking the place. We liked that the whole facility and rooms have a character and interesting decorations. Our room had original artworks made by a local artist which reflects on the areas nature and uniqueness of the place. It was a joy to look at those artworks.

Away from tourists attractions and other dining options.

The view of the Bras d'Or Lake is soooo gorgeous! Every room seems to have a view, too! It's a walking distance from the Highlands Scottish Village, which is an interesting spot well worth visiting.

The floor of our room could have been cleaner: there were some dust bunnies at the foot of the beds. There should be an identified parking spot for each room: there was a show at the pub on one of our nights there and we could barely find a parking spot when we came back to our room after an outing at the beach.

Beautiful view with a newly renovated and spacious room. Rooms were tastefully decorated and as depicted by the website. The Pub on site was convenient and the food was good. This place made a great start to our vacation. I would definitely return.

The only downside was the beds. The mattress could be replaced, egg crate toppers don't make up for a tired mattress.

The only thing I can think of, is there isn't anywhere close to acquire breakfast. The room has coffee... But to get breakfast is a trip.

This place stood out to us long before we left home. Reasonably priced, in a beautiful setting, this well thought out motel is worth travelling for. The view, the subtle in room touches, the way this hotelier created an ease of stay is something more of Cape Breton accommodations could learn from. Check-in and out were smooth. A restaurant/pub adjacent to the motel was convenient for dining on arrival. Beds were comfortable with nice linens. Rooms were updated and tastefully appointed. The balconies had Adirondack Chairs to watch over the narrows. Would stay again and recommend to anyone passing near the area.

if you want a cottage vibe with regular hotel amenities this place is for you! All the rooms overlook water so doesn’t matter which room you get you are guaranteed the best view possible! the sunrise and sunsets are amazing here especially the sunrise that happens right infront of the property. The staff is very hospitable and sweet. the buffet breakfast is absolutely fantastic includes tasty omelette, bread, cereals, sausage, bacon, coffee etc with amazing view from the restaurant on site. They also have live music band perform here often and the museum is right next to the property is a must visit! overall I would give this place 1000/10!!!

the property is stunning but would be nice to have some more lamps in the room so it can be illuminated a bit more! not a complaint just a suggestion :)

This place exceeded my expectations. We needed a pet friendly place as we wrapped up the cabot trail. Iona wasn't exactly on our route, but not too far off. The room was super clean, tidy, well thought out and tastefully decortated. We were on the upper lever with a little balcony with a lovely view. The beds and linens were super comfortable. There is a restaurant as well that offers take away (travelling with our dog means patios and take away) and the food was great (excellent seafood chowder). Service was outstanding; check-in, the restaurant, check out. I would say the location caters to people on the move as opposed to a long stay but there's a basketball court and i saw some soccer nets on the lawn if kids need entertaining. The Highland Village is also next door, and looks like a great family activity.

A lovely location, overlooking the Bas D'Or Lake and next to the Highland Village Museum, which is a must. Clean and comfortable rooms. Helpful staff in the restaurant and tasty breakfast.

Roku TV is impenetrable to someone from Scotland. Couldn't find any local news & weather. We coincided with a quiz night so we were placed upstairs in the restaurant which was a bit noisy and busy.
