The location of the hotel on St Denis is perfect-an easy walk to the Old City and to St Laurent which is hopping with lots of street life and restaurants . Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The staff was super helpful. Its connected to an Ethiopian restaurant called Blue Nile which is excellent. We were very happy with our stay.

The only negative is we had to walk up three flights of stairs to our room. staff took our luggage up but this could be a non-starter for some.

Stunningly appointed; the design and decor is absolutely gorgeous. Our suite was extremely comfortable, and the staff on site was incredible. Every team member we encountered was kind, considerate and extremely helpful. The valet service was amazing. I'll be honest; I was a little skeptical about being on the fourth floor walk up, (no elevators) but the concierge service (helping handle luggage and deliver breakfast) solved that issue for us! The location was great; in close walking distance to tons of amenities; metro service was in convenient walking distance and super easy to use. 15/10 would recommend this hotel. The charm and quality is unmatched! Side note: thank you to the team at Hotel Kutuma for taking such wonderful care of us- all of those special little touches did not go unnoticed- and the next time we're in Montreal, we will definitely be staying here again! -Erika & Neal

The stairs. But everything else was so amazing that the stairs were just a minor hiccup.

The Kutuma is a small hotel with a perfect location. It is close to many restaurants, metro stations and bus stops, gare ďautocars, etc. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Our room was ready when we arrived. Everything was very clean, facilities were well maintained, the room and the bathroom were very spacious and with many appliances (kitchen, fridge, microwave, cooking utensils and silverware, kettle, coffee machine, iron). Our room was refreshed every day, even without us requesting the service. The bed was really comfortable and the room was quiet even though the hotel was in a busy street. I will repeat my staying when I go back to Montreal on vacations.

At first, when I was looking for a hotel, I didn't really like the design of this one. I tend to prefer simple designs, and when I saw the photos they used for this hotel's promotion with animal-themed designs, I hesitated quite a bit before booking it.When I arrived at the hotel, I understood the reason behind this animal-themed design. It was because the ground floor housed a restaurant featuring Ethiopian cuisine from Africa. The Jacuzzi was very spacious and equipped with a bidet, and the shower room was comfortable with a pleasant showerhead. Above all, the bathroom, which was the same size as the bedroom, was particularly impressive. The welcome drink, mango juice, was delicious, and the breakfast, which included a fruit platter, croissants, muffins, yogurt, and café lattes delivered to our room, allowed my partner and me to enjoy a leisurely morning, making us very satisfied.This hotel has a great location since it's close to my favorite French bistro restaurant and a bakery in the neighborhood.I thought the price wasn't cheap, but the staff at the front desk who assisted us were very kind, making it a recommended hotel for its cleanliness and satisfaction

I found it inconvenient to move between the fourth floor without an elevator.

We had gotten upgraded and had an amazing three-day stay. The staff were super kind and lovely and it’s in a great spot with lots of food and bars just around the corner! It’s close to one of the big metro stations so you can get basically everywhere easily! The lighting is adjustable so you can set the mood you want! We set a very low light in the bathroom at night :)!

The only tiny tiny things were that the wifi was a bit slow and you couldn’t open the Windows (granted we were on the top floor so that’s probably a safety issue)

The whole stay was amazing! We got upgraded to the penthouse suite with a beautiful jet tub (which was very clean! Like the rest of the room). The staff was wonderful, helped with bags, offered us coffee while we waited for our car. The restaurant had amazing food. Great location close to the metro and easy walking distance to gay village and plenty of restaurants. Overall 10/10 and would highly recommend Kutuma!

Really nothing to complain about, the slight drawbacks like the lack of an elevator were more than made up for by how amazing the stay was overall.

Great location. The room was very nice--I think we had their cheapest room and it was still very nice, with a kitchenette, balcony, a little table set with a full service and wine and champagne glasses. Nice shower, everything very clean and with nice little extra touches. It would probably be a great place for a couple, because the set-up was "romantic". They offer a valet parking service for $35, which was convenient. (Parking in that area is pricey.) Staff was very welcoming and helpful.

We had an amazing experience at this themed hotel! I loved how the decor was consistent with the theme, and appreciated the thoughtful details -(The bathroom with straw draped over the “hut shaped entrance “ felt so exotic.)The place was super clean, and well appointed with luxurious accommodation. We enjoyed the plush towels and comfy bed. The service was phenomenal! Each time we entered the receptionist offered to help us up with our packages ,and was friendly,professional,and welcoming. We requested a later checkout and they generously allowed it. We’ll definitely be back !

Spacious room, meticulate attention to details you usually only get at 5 star hotels (not always). Bathrobes, slippers and emergency toothbrushes and toothpaste were a pleasant surprise. The kitchenette was well equipped (didn't use it, but nice for those with longer stays)

Wasn't told about parking behind the hotel, and I did get a $90 parking ticket for parking at a meter on the st. Although fully paid, ticket stated it was a maintenance st, no signs to be seen.

The Penthouse Suite was absolutely stunning. The staff were out of this world accommodating and friendly. The hotel itself was secure and very easy to find, while being in walking distance of everything crucial.

The bathroom wasn't properly cleaned but it was an easy fix. The water in the hotel unfortunately is quite harsh, and the sewage smell was pretty awful so we had to use scented items whenever we could in the bathroom. The big screen TV in the room was also broken, but the staff replaced it within an hour, albeit with a smaller and older tv which didn't allow us to watch much. All in all, the experience was fantastic (minus the 4 flights of stairs to get to our room with luggage+bags). The positives far outweighed the negatives.
