This hotel is gorgeous! Stepping inside feels like one has time-traveled to a different era. Wood, stone, tile, carvings, paintings, and sculpture abound. The setting is elegant, serene with a warm and welcoming staff who are engaging and quick to accommodate the traveler’s needs. Even though we arrived late, they arranged a tea tasting for us later that night, with Rose who taught us about the proper way to drink tea, and gave us wonderful information about the area. Before we arrived, we had communicated with the Aroma staff and they arranged a fabulous tour of the Longji Rice fields for us and even organized a very early breakfast with the cooking staff so that we eat before being embarking on the tour. We really appreciated the unique and traditional Chinese style and atmosphere of The Aroma Tea House. The room furnishings were exquisite and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the window seat tea bench - a perfect place to to start the day with a cup of tea. The breakfast featured both the famous Guilin rice noodles and also Western style choices in a rooftop salon. There are several outside patios, one with covered seating. The hotel offers laundry service - welcome benefit on a long trip. Another great asset is that The Aroma Tea House is right in the heart of Guilin, across from Ronghu Lake, walking distance to many sights. Guilin is a magical city. The climb to the top of the Karst hill at the Prince’s Palace at sunset is stunning. Karst scenery is the backdrop to a diverse and decorated skyline. Once darkness arrives, the city comes alive with lights everywhere and the iconic Sun and Moon Temples towering over the water create a carnival for the eyes. Musicians and dancers spill out along the walkways. We wished we had allowed more time in Guilin to enjoy the generous hospitality of The Aroma Tea House. We highly recommend this beautiful and unique hotel. One of a kind!

If you are looking to enjoy what Guilin has to offer, do not hesitate to book this hotel. Everything was excellent, and I was made to feel very welcome. The receptionist "Juuga(?)" was most polite, kind hearted and helpful; sending me various locations of spots to go (pagodas, flute reed cave, night markets, famous goose restaurant, lakes / elephant trunk hill) and helping me set up the Yangshuo cruise tour. I would not have enjoyed Guilin as much as I did had I not come to this hotel - I would've been clueless. I also have an extremely cut figure at the moment and am on a ketogenic diet, they prepared breakfasts for me as well to meet my needs, which was included in the price. The room was beautiful, cosy and warm.

I liked everything.

Everything! The hotel is lovely, the staff are super nice and helpful and all speak English. The breakfast was great, lots of choices and the view is so nice. The rooms are perfect, they have a bow window to relax in with a tea and towels, beds are changed every day. The hotel is in a really good location. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby and the lake right in front is beuatful at night with all the lights. It's only around a 10 minute walk to the sun and moon Pagodas. The massage at the hotel was amazing, I had the full body oil massage and was one of the best massages I've had. The trips from the hotel were managed well, we went on the night cruise which was great and the longji rice fields and long hair village is a 100% must do. I'd also recommend the reed Flute Cave, it was incredible. The restaurants recommended by the hotel were great, you have to go to Mcfound. We went 3 times in the 4 days we were there, it was that good! Get the pork with chestnuts! :) also Oolong tea nearby is a must for delicious drinks. We also went there every day.

There wasn't anything, it was all amazing.

I spent 10 weeks in China and this was the best place I stayed. I stayed for 6 nights. There is one reason for that and that is the staff. They are all excellent, so polite friendly and helpful. The 3 amazing reception staff speak great English and will help you with anything regarding your stay but are also willing to have a chat about anything which is so welcoming as many other hotels do not have English speaking staff. I will not mention any member of staff because they are all great, including breakfast staff , cleaners etc, the whole team. The location is great next to the lakes and central for everything in Guilin. The room was large, bed comfortable, hot shower, great Wi-Fi and good air con. Breakfast was lovely and a good western/Chinese variety. If you are coming to Guilin I highly recommend you stay here.

Nothing loved it all.

This hotel is a gem. The hotel, location, staff, service, and breakfast were amazing. The hotel has real character, art and antiques are tastefully displayed. They create a dreamy and tranquil atmosphere. My wife and I would like extend our appreciation to Rose and all the staff who were professional, kind and attentive during our 5 day stay. They are great ambassadors for This hotel and Guilin in general. The team’s English proficiency was impressive but it was the compassion and care they brought to their work that was exceptional. Rose, Ida and Zuba were very supportive, arranging tours, recommending restaurants and giving directions. Thanks for making our stay memorable.

Small hotel run by a couple of friendly woman. They kept our big luggage for 4 nights while we went to the rice fields and then to Yangshuo. Easy to communicate as they speak English, which believe me, is not something you can take for granted in China, not even in touristy areas. For this reason alone, I think this is probably the best hotel to stay at if you don’t like the hassle.

The breakfast area is lovely, with a nice view, but most of the options were cold both days of our stay, some options were not even restocked at all.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, the room was super clean and tidy. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room where you have breakfast is great, with a great view, and the breakfast itself was really good, with plenty of choices. The location of the hotel is great, as well, only a short walk to some of the attractions in the city. Truly one of the best hotels I've ever been in.

The only nit-pick I have is that the temperature of the water in the shower would sometimes change a randomly, getting hotter or colder. Really, that's the only thing I can think of because everything about this hotel was great.

- Hotel is in an amazing location next to the water and only a short walk from the two pagodas and night markets - Architecture and design is really interesting and showcases authentic Chinese history - Authentic and delicious local Chinese breakfast! - Rooms are comfortable and spacious - We LOVED the tea station in the bedroom - Massage available in the hotel - Really helpful staff, especially Rose, who had excellent communication (in English) before and during the stay - Rose helped to organise Li River cruise ticket and transfer and showed us where to eat and walk around Guilin

Excellent location next to Rong Lake. Beautiful room with a relaxing tea room in the room, great for relaxing, reading a book and enjoying tea. Very clean hotel full of antiques from different dynasties as this hotel was previously a museum. Would have loved to stay longer and enjoy walks around the property. Good Chinese breakfast too. Real value for money!

None, just had to be careful with our big backpacks as the whole hotel is surrounded by antiques.

The Authentic Traditional Chinese look of the Property is exceptional. Rooms are big, and have a sitting area for tea by the window. Views from the dining area is fantastic. The staff are very helpful. We checked in late, close to 7pm. 2 ladies at the reception checked us in fast, brought us to our rooms. Even explaining to us how to get to the Walking Street, arranging a packed breakfast next morning(before 7am as we have an early tour) Breakfast is simple Western and Chinese fares, though we thought the Guilin Bee Hoon was very good. During our last day, the boss even arranged for a free transport to the Train station for us.

Unfortunately we didn’t get the rooms on the 5th floor hence could not get room views to the Lake. There was 1 room available but we didn’t want to split up our 3 rooms. 1 of the power sockets were spoilt but still sufficient for charging our 2 handphones and power banks.
