A wonderful hotel, really recommend the area as it is close to all the touristy parts of Shanghai. The room was very comfortable and beautiful - the beds were amazing, the bathroom (bath and shower) really nice, so clean, and the views overlooking of The Bund were amazing. The location is great, next to metro station line 2 and just 5 minutes walk to the Oriental Pearl TV tower. We had some drinks in the top floor bar, which gave amazing views (as nice as the TV tower) and delicious cocktails as well as great live music. I really recommend going to the top pool (and sauna) to enjoy the views - it is very quiet and relaxing. The breakfast was amazing!!! There are many options to choose from and everything is fresh. The Kempinski charged us twice by mistake and we realised when we came back home. They answered very quickly to our messages and refunded us as soon as they noticed the mistake. Such a professional and wonderful place - would recommend 100% !

I had a really nice stay with my 4yo son in a Club room. I loved that we could have breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner in a smaller area with less people on a top floor. Have a meal with a kid and no crowd was so comfortable. Selection of dishes were enjoyable for westerners even if there were very few foreigners. We also enjoyed jacuzzi in a swimming pool area and small pool with warm water in changing area with a beautiful view. It was cold weather in January and we really enjoyed and relaxed in the hotel during our stay! I also appreciated plate of tangerines we received on arrival day, they were very testy!

The only thing was a waiting time for checking in but it was during Spring Festival when a lot of people traveled. Check out was super fast!

I liked services offered by Yudith or the staff while Yudith was present. She is the heart of the kempinski club, and maybe the hotel! She went out her way on many occasions to make our family comfortable after many little hiccups! She makes those very nice power shots for breakfast and she made extra efforts to make sure my son had everything delivered on time and to his liking! We really appreciate you Yudith! Do not have the usual feel if Kempinski hotel standard. staffs not all are friendly and helpful especially the check in counter. best service is from concierge

the room was very nice, the bed and the view was just amazing. we’ve originally book the river view but also got upgraded room thanks for the fulfilling the special request. the stuff is quiet good, special shout out to Ava Sheng and Dylan for the breakfast arrangements, if not then we would be left without breakfast as it was quiet a queue every morning. we’ll be definitely continue with Kempinski choice.

we understands it’s a holidays in China and CNY is something special, however the hotel might have a better arrangements for a breakfasts as they are aware of the capacity of the guests? the line was so long it was almost reaching the main door..its also quiet odd that ppl are taking away the food from the breakfast buffet, stuff was willingly providing the package boxes ..that’s definitely makes ppl to stay at the buffet longer and increasing the waiting time for other ppl in the queue..the western food choice can be improved too.

A special thanks to the hotel's management and staff. Because of very strict anti-COVID rules in application in China, all hotel's guests and staff were suddenly faced with an unexpected and especially difficult situation for several days. And the Kempinski has risen to the challenges and showed what real hospitality means. The attitude of the entire hotel personnel in these extraordinary situation was excellent and deeply appreciated. The room was amazing! Very comfortable bed and brilliant view. We were in the River View King room and it was fab! The staff were attentive and very friendly. The breakfast was great- lots of options!

The hotel seemed quite old fashioned with a modern element to it. Some of the decor could do with an update. Some things needed more care and attention- such as the pool facilities as there were areas which were looking a little run down. The breakfast was very busy and some tables were positioned in the lobby area- as they could not accommodate everyone in the main restaurant. The corridors were very warm and at times- too hot!

View, room, bed, staff.

This time I am not satisfied with the customer service of booking.com. I book a hotel and the room is for 2 adult, but in the morning I had to pay for my partner's breakfast. So I can't really understand why don't booking.com draws the attention that the breakfast is only for one person. It is not so nice that we are having the breakfast and the hotel staff appears next to your table and make you pay for the extra breakfast. Also, I can't really get the logic. The room is for two, they gave me two toiletries, but the breakfast is for only on person. Never met such a thing.

I came to Kempinski Shanghai few times as it’s the best hotel in Shanghai. service, rooms, breakfast, staff, spa, pool, cleanliness, all are outstanding. especially Mr. Ricky has shown a very high standard of support and professionalism. highly recommended
