We have arrived after long flight and we had everything what we needed: good bed + shower. Check in was easy (despite it was 1am). Next day breakfast was with a good choice (typical costarican food + fruits) and very good coffee. Staff was helpful with checking bus schedule. Altough we have left only after 7 hours if stay it was very satifisfying for what we needed. Beautiful colonial style architecture.

The rooms could be a bit oudated - for the price i have not expected a 5 star hotel but they could be a bit refreshed. Its in town center therfore could be a bit noisy,

The staff were excellent, they helped me with everything I needed. The lady on reception was particularly helpful when it came to booking tours. The breakfast was based on Costa Rican cuisine Rice&beans fresh fruit and fried&scrambled eggs. Toast tea&coffee and some cereal for the kids. I ate there in the evening there was a good selection to choose from and again the service was great. Location was a 9/10.

No double glazing ment you could hear traffic from 6am onwards in the week. It was not deafening and I could snooze through it. Oh and plug sockets were behind the beds not ideal.

Location very good, very close to tourist attractions in city center. Room was big, relatively quiet (you could hear traffic, but that is pretty normal in city center). Staff spoke good English. Breakfast was good, a lot of fresh fruit.

Bed was not too comfortable (could feel the springs), and with some minor changes room could be much nicer: I missed real curtains (there were only sheer curtains), some decoration on the walls (painting, picture), shelf in the shower for shampoo or soap. I would also recommend to have more attention for saving energy: option not to change towels when you don't want to, don't turn the fan on (staff did that repeatedly, even when no one was in the room, and it wasn't even warm).

Location, location, location! Staff was very efficient and kind in answering all my questions. Specially Ms. Jacqueline. I stayed in room #36 which has a big window that helped to keep the room fresh (rooms have no AC 😞) Very good internet connection, useful if you have to work. Cleaning staff is respectful. Property is safe if you're a woman solo traveller. Airport shuttle service was excellent.

No air conditioner in the room, had to keep the window open. Hotel has no nice view to the street as the roof top of the restaurant blocks it. Breakfast needs serious improvement. Fruit was delicious thou. Management has to invest in new linen. Sheets and duvet are too old. No safety box in the room, only in the management office and boxes are small to only keep passport and jewelry. Cable tv is bad, however, if you bring your laptop or tablet internet speed allows you to watch streaming. Would be good if you could connect to the tv. Tge pool looks dirty and is not inviting and the chairs in the area are old, some are broken 😞

My room was comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. Front desk staff were especially friendly and helpful, and were always available. The restaurant was good and the breakfast was excellent. Note that you can drink tap water (agua de grifo), so you can fill up your water bottle. There is small book exchange in the lobby. Many languages can be found there. If I'd known that, I would have brought a couple of paperbacks, that I've finished, to add to it.

It was kind of noisy since my room opened onto the courtyard. Children were playing outside until quite late. I'm not blaming them or the hotel, it's just echo-ey. The kids may have had jet lag and still been functioning in a different time zone at 11 pm. I needed earplugs to get to sleep that night.

Just what we needed for our first few nights in San Jose. Comfortable beds, and provided a cot which was ready set up when we arrived.. Good location to get from airport and to walk into San Jose. Breakfast was typical Costa Rican and delicious! We fear we won't get so good for the rest of our trip. Also good to gave the easy option of on site restaurant. Great value.

Room was a little small but fair for the price. the traffic noise was bad, almost constant honking from 5am, but I think this would be most hotels in San Jose

Beautiful hotel in the very city center of San Jose with easy access to all important sights of town.

We ordered a vegan breakfast to go as we needed to leave super early for the airport and had breakfast included in our stay. Unfortunately, the kitchen screwed it up and served us one vegan and 3 ham sandwiches instead. As it was 5.30am, no one could rectify the problem and hence, we wasted our breakfast voucher. Make sure to make everything extra clear to them in case you have a special dietary restriction, and once you think you have explained it well enough, start again and explain it one more time.

The location, facilities, comfort, breakfast were all very good. The hotel staff was attentive and helpful.

The restaurant staff did not pay attention to details. The waitress left the tops open on the breakfast buffet, which resulted in cold food and did not place utensils and napkins on the table. I had to ask for them. When I asked the breakfast waitress for salt and pepper, she pointed to where they were on the shelf so I got them myself. Be prepared for city noises starting around 5:30am. Because I’m from the country, I was not used to it.

Breakfast was okay but not remarkable. I would have like bagels or croissants or English muffins. Bacon would have been great. Largely a Tico breakfast but most of the guests were not Tico. I've had much better breakfasts at San Jose hotels.

My first night I was in a terrible room, more like a prison cell than hotel room. Window was painted shut and opaque. AC barely worked. Then the 7am breakfast was not available at 7am. But when I complained the staff immediately arranged to move me to a great room. I loved it. The staff were great. So my only suggestions would be to put soap in the shower and maybe a hair dryer. And the bar might invest in some dry vermouth so they can make a martini. Still I appreciate their efforts.
