As it says in the description this is a beautiful boutique hotel, evocative (to me) of similar places in Ibiza, Mykonos and Bali. The owner Johanna (I didn’t meet her husband, though he made delicious and generous breakfasts!) was a really wonderful ‘host’ (if that’s the right word) - warm, friendly, welcoming and accommodating (we were able to check-in very early, and check-out a little later, which we didn’t expect and wouldn’t always be possible, obviously). Johanna was knowledgeable and helpful about the area and transfers etc. and struck the right balance between being friendly and, for example, happily chatting about the family’s transition from France to Costa Rica (which I asked about and was really interested in) and not being intrusive. As well as the warmth and friendliness (and as is always the case in successful boutique hotels) the other key ingredient that made this place so special was the design and attention to detail. It’s beautiful and tranquil, has a minimalist yet tropical aesthetic, and the owner’s intended ethos was palpable throughout, it really ‘seeps in’ and takes you over; like most guests we balanced spending time at BoHo and the nearby beach (or wherever), but it’s just so relaxing it was often hard to leave! We loved this place, and loved Tamarindo too - it has a beautiful beaches and quieter parts, but plenty going on in terms of eating and drinking etc., and having a ‘vibe’. Listen & look out for the howler monkeys next to the hotel, too!

I don't really have any criticisms, because it was so lovely. For balance and to be constructive it's worth mentioning that the rooms are close together and are around the pool and so it's all very intimate (e.g. we felt we should talk quietly!) but this is the norm for boutique hotels like this and part of the attraction, adding to the relaxing vibe, if this is what you're looking for. And we LOVED that it was adults only, which contributed to the peacefulness! A chair outside of the room would be nice, in addition to the hammock-style seat, but this really is a small, subjective thought/preference - not a 'negative'.

the Boho is a new exceptionally clean hotelwith very comfortable beds and good AC. great shower and bonus you can flush TP as they have a septic system! It is a quiet little oasis yet very walkable and across the street from the beach and between Tamarindo and langosta so both are easily walkable. we never had to drive. The owner Johanna and staff are extremely kind and friendly and helpful. Her husband cooks breakfasts which were excellent alternating between sweet and savory each day. The Boho is small enough to meet other couples from all over the world. We can’t say enough nice things about it!

The stay began wonderfully with a personal check in and explanation of the hotels and amenities. The fresh cooked breakfast was outstanding! Huevos rancheros one morning, waffles the next day, a panini the following, all of which included delicious fresh fruit. The location is close enough to the main center area and an easy walk to the beach. I was able to wake up to see the sunrise on the beach, come back for breakfast, and then go out again to explore the area. Or I could easily relax on any of the lounge chairs and read a book in relaxation. I will gladly return here and look forward to it. Thank you Johanna and Greg! (And Iren, the official hotel dog!)

BoHo was a phenomenal hotel. The location couldn't be better- a two minute walk to the beach and walkable to everything in Tamarindo. Johanna and her family are super responsive and answered all questions we had and made sure we were comfortable at all points of our stay. The breakfast every morning was icing on the cake- everything was delicious and was a big portion! I look forward to coming back next time we are in Tamarindo.

The property was in a great location. Breakfast was amazing something different every day. Any requests were handled immediately. Close enough to town and beach but far enough to feel secluded.

I visited BoHo Tamarindo with my parents in early December. We had adjacent rooms, settled in a quiet corner of the grounds facing the forest and hammocks. Johanna was an excellent host and was very friendly and responsive via whatsapp for any additional needs and questions later in the day. BoHo is in the PERFECT location in Tamarindo on the quieter and more scenic end of the beach closer to Playa Langosta. It is an easy walk anywhere to town but just the right distance from any craziness. It was the perfect place to relax in between activities and they were kindly able to make slight modifications to breakfast to accommodate my mom's "picky" appetite. Keep an eye out for the family of howler monkeys who live in the neighboring forest! We would also recommend booking a massage through the hosts, which my mom reviews as the best of her life. Another bonus was the resident dog, Iron, and cat (she might ask to come in your room!) If we return to Tamarindo we would not hesitate to stay here again!

We loved absolutely everything about this accommodation. This was definitely the best place during our 3 week trip. Johanna & Greg had a perfect level of hospitality and were always helpful but never intrusive. We also really enjoyed the privacy and of course the wonderful yoga/chill/massage deck. Our daily highlight was the delicious breakfast. We were looking forward to it every morning. It was by far the most delicious and also most lovingly prepared breakfast in Costa Rica :) Another highlight were the mosquito nets on every window and even a mosquito net sliding door. We really enjoyed lying in bed listening to the thunderstorm and feeling the fresh breeze through the open window. For some people this will be a small thing, but for someone who is really afraid of eight-legged creatures, it was just heavenly. I felt more comfortable and safe than in any other accommodation.

The only advice we can give to other travelers: You better not book this accommodation at the beginning of your trip, because after that, you won't find anything that can keep up with Boho Tamarindo ;))

By far one of the best places I've stayed. I travel a lot 32 countries now. And I'd come back just for this place. The owners are so nice. Our bags didn't come in and she gave me flip flops and helped stay in touch with the bag delivery. Breakfast every morning is great. And the pool and lounge area are so relaxing. We were looking to stay at a surf hotel in town and sooooo glad we chose here. Way quieter and relaxing.

The bed was a Little bit hard. But that's more preference

Had a lovely time at BoHo. The rooms are all newly fitted, bright, fresh and clean - for once, the pictures are actually accurate! The hotel is very intimate, and quiet with a lovely little pool area, sun lounge where you can watch monkeys in the neighbouring reserve and a nice reception area where you'll have your freshly prepared breakfast in the morning. The owners and staff here are wonderful too and couldn't have done more to help and make us feel welcome.

The hotel itself is awesome. Rooms are clean and the foyer area - where breakfast is served every day is quaint and welcoming. Johanna was very nice and helpful, all of her suggestions were perfect; especially surfing, michel is a top notch teacher! The location is close to the beach, and walking distance from town. It’s far enough away that it was very quiet at night, giving a very private feel. Overall, I would highly recommend the Boho!
