We loved the exceptional staff, pool, immaculate grounds, and convenience of the location- close to shops, all the must-experience restaurants, Saturday Market, and short walk to the beach. The set up of the hotel was impressive: secure parking, easy access reception area, rooms set around a lovely pool, cute seating area, and shaded breakfast tables. Our room was well appointed with lots of towels, A/C, a fridge and a safe. Beds and bedding were comfortable. The included breakfasts and service were fantastic! (Thanks Laura!)

Thanks to previous reviews, at time of booking, we knew about the weekend night club and skate park noise. We stayed Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and the music volume from the nearby club on Sat/Sunday was significant. Our room was likely the closest room to all this action. Fortunately, the rooms have white noise machines which worked very well! Our family of four all slept well (and I am not a great sleeper to begin with). A positive attitude, use of the white noise machines, and seeing that the pros definitely outnumber the cons would lead us to recommending this place to others.

Centrally located, a short walk from the beach, with incredibly attentive staff and a fantastic breakfast. Small but homey, with a pool centering the courtyard. Staff will happily arrange anything you need (tours, laundry, transportation, etc). Clean within a fairly dirty town (a nice respite). Nextdoor to a park with basketball hoops and a lively weekend scene, which can get loud, but noise machines in each room easily drown out the nightlife. Supermarket right across the street, and many restaurants an easy walk away. AC in each room works great, and they provide towels for the pool and beach, as well as chairs, umbrellas, etc. Overall a fantastic place.

The staff here were very friendly and helpful with answering questions for us and making change so we could tip staff. The breakfasts were very good and was a great start to our day! They had a night security person on staff, so we felt very safe and secure at this location.

Not the hotel's fault, but it sits right next to the city park. Kids played basketball late every night so it could be a bit noisy if your room is on the same side as the park. We got used to it and enjoyed seeing the locals having fun at the park/skate park.

Karol, Juan, Laura, Tony (English version) everyone truly made our stay special. They all worked hard every day to make sure everyone was happy. Very clean, comfortable beds and no request was taken lightly. Even a crazy woman from Canada that asked for a broom and dust pan 😂. My husband and I truly miss them and cannot wait to return hopefully with other family members to enjoy true Pura Vida only because of the wonderful people working there. Good bye was hard but we will return. Ten North Tamarindo Beach Hotel would not be as exceptional without them all. Pura Vida until we meet again xo

Ten North Tamarindo Beach Hotel was a fantastic place and very reasonable priced. Tamarindo is quite expensive. Comparable to what you would spend on cost of living, dining in Canada and the US.

Absolutely loved my solo stay at Ten North! From the moment I arrived I was welcomed with such warmth and also a cold beer by Juan at reception. The room was beautiful and clean and the pool area was perfect for chilling and lounging by the pool. I’m vegan, and the staff including Caro made sure I always had a filling delicious breakfast. The hotel is a short few minutes from the beach and super close to restaurants and the grocery store. Another highlight for me was the sweetest small cat who hangs around and the staff look after her. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again and highly recommend!

the location of ten north is perfect!! it’s such a sweet oasis in the middle of Tamerindo..it is right beside the skate park where the local kids play daily and on saturdays there is an outdoor market which is incredible! breaking bread which is a lovely coffee shop is only a couple of steps away and there is a grocery store across the street…additionally you are less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and in the middle of all of the action

our room was a bit small but it certainly met our needs…the only negative is that there wasn’t a barrier under the door so ants could and did get in

Great hotel, kind staff and good value for money.

A little bit isolated from bars, restaurants, shops, or other beaches at a walking distance. We expected it to be closer to these facilities.

Ten North was a great intimate hotel, with exceptional staff, and we would definitely return. The location was in the heart of the action. The rooms faced a small pool that provides a change of pace from the busy downtown and beautiful beach. Countless excellent restaurants are within short walking distance. Access to excursions was easy. The hotel offers an optional breakfast, which was also delicious. As a bonus, there was a farmers' market right next door every Saturday. If you want to be in the action, and feel a warm local vibe, this is the place to stay!

The trade-off for being in the central location is the noise level of the surrounding clubs and bars at night. In our rooms, there were noise-cancelling machines and enough soundproofing that it didn't disturb us, but if you're looking for a quiet getaway, this may not be the place for you.

There was a lovely pool, breakfast with coffee, and a very short walk to a beautiful beach. The staff was great and very attentive and helpful. The hotel is very clean and well cared for. A grocery next door and a white noise machine to drown out the night sounds

The breakfast was very American I would have loved some more "typical" choices to eat. I thought the location was not great because it was in the overcrowded and noisy center of town. The other guests weren't the friendliest, but oh well.

A bright calm oasis of green and water in the glorious party mayhem that is Tamarindo. Beautiful little room and en suite overlooking a charming, clean pool surrounded by clever planting and plenty of places to sit. THE BEST BREAKFAST we’ve had IN COSTA RICA! A nice place to meet other travellers and holiday makers with a nice vibe. We left to move on and immediately re-booked as we’d enjoyed it so much. I highly recommend the estuary boat trip that the hotel booked for us. LOADS of birds, excellent guide and abundant crocodiles.

The nighttime party noises coming from Tamarindo are remarkable and they last most of the night. Listen to the advice about keeping the bathroom door shut and the noise-cancelling device next to the bed actually helps.
