The location is close to the more scenic outskirts of Zagreb, and a traditional if not historical restaurant is at the associated property next-door.

Very surprised by extra charges for my hairless cat at the end of my stay. It added so much additional cost, I could have bandied staying at Sheraton. I don't like surprises, and for a 1 week stay, it definitely added up.

This hotel is a really very exceptional, very authentic choice. You feel yourself in a very historic place with antique furnitures. Hotel is like an art gallery. I havent seen so much paintings in a hotel till now. Hotel has a very nice restaurant just next door and there is a very interesting cookbook museum next to the owners residence. Mr.Zlatko Puntijar invited us to visit the museum which was a great experiance. Thousans of cookbooks. Hotel was generally comfortable and breakfast was good and there was enough selection.

Hotel should consider to change or renovate the beds in the rooms as the wooden structure of the beds make real too much noise.

An ideal hotel with an interesting history in a beautiful part of Zagreb. Very friendly service, large and clean room, tasty breakfasts, and no problem with parking the car. Additionally, a nearby restaurant serves excellent Croatian cuisine. Highly recommend that place.

Nicely located, roughly halfway Zagreb's old town and the foothills of Sljeme mountain, with ample parking space for those travelling by car. The ground station of Sljeme's funicular is less than a 20-minute walk from the hotel, a (taxi) drive into the city takes 10-15 minutes tops. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, radiating the almost 200 years of Puntijar's hospitality activities. Bathroom had everything we needed, including an impressive amount of water pressure in the shower and direct availability of hot water. The latter sounds simple and obvious but - as a frequent traveller - often is a disappointment... Reception & breakfast staff was welcoming and friendly, and fluent in English: no language barriers at all here! The neighbouring restaurant/culinary museum (Stari Puntijar) operated by the same family is worth mentioning, too. Ample room inside, and a large, shady outdoor terrace for those hot summer days & evenings. The restaurant features a very affordable menu, with dishes ranging from the obious steak or schnitzel, good soups and salads all the way to (game) dishes the Puntijars dug up from century-old Croatian cooking books. Plenty of choice for both the carnivore and the vegetarian! Beverages include red/white wine from local vineyard, as well as home made brandy ('Crognac') and liquours. Our waiter, Ali, was extremely service-minded and we could rely on him for recommendations in both the food and bev department.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful which made our stay very special. The hotel is full of antique and vintage furniture and each room has a name.Mine was Jakob.Their restaurant located just across the car park is beautifully furnished like a banquet hall and the food and wine are very good and traditional. The owner gave us a tour of his private museum of cookery books and vintage plates..cutlery and so on.The breakfast was good. The rooms are quite big and vintage too..

The only drawback..depending on your point of view is the distance from the city.However..taxis were cheap. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but the lovely receptionist lent me a kettle..cup and spoon as I had my own tea and creamer. The shower attachment is too short to fix so you have to hold it as you wash. These were minor things compared to the warm welcome.

The hotel has been updated to a high standard but has also been given and has retained a lot of character. The breakfast was very good and the freshly prepared coffee was the best I have had in a long time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The associated restaurant served excellent quality food. The location was good, just a short drive to the city centre whilst being in a quiet location. The room and bathroom were both large.

Shower over a high sided bath. Fridge noisy. No plug in washbasin.

Location outside the center, without your own car it might be a problem to get to the hotel. A huge advantage of the hotel is a fairly large parking lot, it is easy to get in and out. An old building that has been used as a hotel for a very long time, with antique wooden furniture, the hotel certainly retains a unique atmosphere, bordering on a museum and a guesthouse.

I prefer a more varied breakfast, especially with lots of fruit and vegetables.

Nice hotel in classic style. It's a historic structure but at the same time modern and recently refurbished with very good taste (there are hundreds of old paintings but also the elevator, the closets are antique but perfectly functioning, not noisy and very comfortable to use). The room is large and clean, the bed is comfortable, lights are ok, good curtains on the windows. The staff is friendly, the breakfast is good and rich, the position is quiet, not so close to the centre but very close (a few meters) to the tram to quickly reach the centre.

The fridge was a little bit noisy (but you can easily turn it off) and the safe wasn't working and wasn't fixed anywhere.

The double room was huge, bathroom as well. We felt like guests in a castle, the atmosphere is quite regal. The fridge in the room was very handy as well. Breakfast food, was very good, apart from the coffee. Very spacious and modern elevator made carrying luggage a breeze.

The americano coffee I got with breakfast felt like old filter coffee, not good. It's 2023, not having a free socket (apart from the night lamp one) is not nice. Should be updated.

Very nice old house with authentic atmosphere. Relatively close and easy to go to the center of the city: it took us 40 min on feet and 12 minutes on a tram on our way back, tram stop is right behind the hotel. Its very comfortable because we didn't have to go to the center by car, its almost impossible to park there. Very good breakfast, so far the best I have had in hotels.

Some smell of cigarettes as smokers smoke right in front of the front door
