December 2023

I stayed in a 1 bed room apartment. Very spacious and updated. It was excatly as pictured. Location is great, can easily walk to the beach, grocery store, and shops.

They only clean the apartments once every three days. I stayed there for four nights. I thought it would make more sense to have the cleaning one once in the middle of my stay not at the end. They don't provide anything to help you keep the apartment clean, no dish soap, pods for the dishwasher, paper towels, broom etc. I also stayed at Blue Bay those apartments did include that. There was one day where there was not enough pool chairs while some people had lounge beds and chairs. The staff did not help. This was not even at a prime time or season.

The location is 5 min walk to Jan Thiel Beach. The cottege was newly renovated, specious and nice, had a separate kitchen +dining/living room+terrace balcony. The kitchen was fully equipped with appliances, which is very convenient for someone who prefers to cook. And there is a Dutch supermarket by Papagayo Beach. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were not, and only 2. The bathroom was nice with good water pressure and clean towels. In general, it is a good place for money if you are not too picky and don't expect anything fancy.

The doors in a cottege were weirdly placed (cross each other). A/C worked only in the bedroom, and crossed doors didn't let air out to the kitchen. This place has a bigger potential if put together some small details for its guests, like providing rags and a small dish soap, dishwasher tablets in a kitchen - to make it easier to maintain cleanliness; shampoo and conditioner which is standard, something for mosquitoes on the balcony otherwise it's impossible to be there; and to update beach chairs by the pool, they are almost all broken. Also, there is construction going on the resort territory, and they start pretty early.

6 minute walk from a beautiful beach. Beach passes were provided, but no one at the beach ever asked to see them. There was live music one night at the beach. 5 minute walk from a great grocery store where we picked up croissants, bananas and fresh squeezed OJ for breakfast on our beautiful shady porch. We were in a ground floor basic unit that had a view onto the garden. We saw beautiful birds including parakeets in the morning flying onto the trees. The pool was huge, very clean. Washrooms were provided at the pool. We spent an afternoon at the beach (where there are loungers etc for rent), but came back and preferred the quiet, lack of crowds and no sand at our pool instead. Everything was super clean and we regularly saw maintenance painting to freshen a unit.

Breakfast at the restaurant was very very expensive. Front desk clerk was quite unfriendly. When we arrived, they 'upgraded' us to an upstairs unit. Do not accept this upgrade if it is offered to you!!! The ground floor units have beautiful shaded porches. The upstairs units only have a canvas tarp, very inadequate for the sun. Some of them were even missing the tarp. It was quite dishonest to try to give us this 'upgrade'.

Spoke to Patricia before my stay as another family member and friend wanted to join our trip making it a total of 6 for the villa they gave us a 3 bedroom villa which was very accommodating for the same price, Patricia made a note for our reservation and explained everything before we came which was awesome, the pool is really nice, it's close to a nice beach, need a rental to move around if u really want to experience the island and the area felt very safe, great place for families.

One of the showers kept clogging, they didn't clean the villa within our 5 day stay, alot of ants kept coming on the kitchen counters so we had to store everything in the fridge.

I really enjoyed the whole stay. The location was ideal, located next to the Jan Thiel beach, a bunch of restaurants (Kokos was our favorite breakfast spot), and a small grocery store. The breakfast was a bit overpriced at Jan Thiel, but the bar food was great!

If I HAD to pick something, I would say a time limit on the beach beds. There are only 10 or so, and individuals would have them for hours at a time. I think a 2-3 hour max would be considerate to other guests.

Big swimming pool. Access to Jan Thiel’s beach. Location walking distance from the beach. I liked dive center in the resort.

Loungers at the pool cannot be reserved which is fine however if you are gone for let’s say lunch, when you come back your staff can be removed by other guests. Management allows for it. That was not pleasant. Doors to the room allow all noise to pass through.

The staff is amazing. Very friendly & enthusiastic The room was nice & the breakfast is excellent. The pool is nice very clean.

Last time I was there I was promised a discount I didn’t receive… also last time I payed less for more day I guess that has to do w the season. The pool is always busy impossible to get a chair. The room I was in this time was nice and comfy but if I compare it w my last stay where I payed less the room was better it had a nicer look plus oven which was really needed.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location is close to a beach, restaurants, the Mambo Beach, Sea Aquarium and many great food options were very close. The Resort was always very quiet and peaceful. It felt very safe no matter the time of day. Breakfast had a good variety. I would highly suggest renting a car.

The pool area was nice and the grounds were decently kept. The staff were nice enough.

The resort seems a little tired and in need of a bit of a sprucing up. The apartment we rented wasn’t equipped with napkins, paper towels, dish soap or anything to clean dishes with. A little odd but fine.
