Great hotel near Hilo Bayfront Beach Park and Coconut Island. Exceptional value for the money. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Especially liked the little balcony with great views of Hilo Bay. Great location a little bit away from downtown Hilo.

Not overly impressed by the food in the restaurant. Check out the food at Hula Hula's right next door for a more fun and outdoorsy restaurant experience.

Beautiful location. Nice, easy walk to town. Lovely grounds and lobby. The coffee shop/bar served a great burger and excellent drinks! Staff was friendly and fun. We will be back!

I appreciate daily housekeeping when we travel. I enjoy coming back to the hotel and having the room tidy, fresh towels and bed made. I miss those services. Pillows really need to be updated for a better sleep experience.

We had a room on the 4th floor with a view of the bay and Mauna Kea, which was beautiful. We were lucky and once saw the summit of Mauna Kea in a nice sunset and the second morning a cruise ship entered the harbor. We stayed for two nights to have easier access to Volcano National Park and that realyl helped because we could arrive there early when it opened and it was quite empty at the main highlights before the crowds came. Hilo also has a few nice attractions and places to see. Unfortunately the UNESCO Biosphere Center and the Tsunami Center were closed when we were there but we enjoyed the planetarium. We did not use the hotel's restaurants or food services, thus we cannot comment on it. Parking was rather easy, we always found a spot, despite the hotel beeing fully booked because of a convention.

There was no safe in the room. The pool area is a bit overshadowed by the neighboring ruined hotel (which is not the fault of the Castle Hilo Hawaiin Hotel).

Love this hotel, excellent location and great staff. We received a room upgrade when they heard we were on our honeymoon. Free parking, good wifi, comfortable bed. We were there for just one night so didn't really get a chance to try out the pool and restaurant but would definitely stay here again in the future!

We only had one bath towel in the bathroom when we arrived but the front desk staff were quick to get us another set when we asked. We arrived early for check-in but our room wasn't ready yet so the front desk girl told us she would call us when it was ready. We hadn't heard anything by 3pm, the actual check-in time so we went back to find new staff at the front desk. Maybe she forgot to tell anyone or assumed we would just come back?

When we had issues in our room with our refrig, we were helped very quickly. What I was upset about was getting the same room I had on my last stay that was so far from the lobby. They said no other handicap room was available. But they gave us the use of a microwave and did not charge us. They found another chair for our use. We had 4 people and only 2 chairs:(.

There were no handicap stalls available every time we drove in to the hotel. If there are that many people needing a stall, designate more. I had to walk very far on some days. I use a cane and have a hard time walking from the far parking and Room 104- the last room on the disabled floor.

The view of the bay was spectacular and a great pleasure. The bed was large, comfortable, and a thermostat right near the window side of the bed was easy to set. The bench at the foot of the bed was very useful for putting shopping or sitting on and the mini-fridge was tiny but useful. The parking was free.

The lighting was quite dim, with no overhead lighting in the bedroom. The hotel next door was abandoned and had broken windows and grafitti sprayed on it, which did not inspire confidence. I wish that there had been a gift shop, and the restaurant was extremely expensive. A microwave in the room would have been nice to be able to reheat food.

Common areas, restaurant and staff were great. Parking was free, convenient and always available.

Although my room was clean, spacious and comfortable, there were minor maintenance issues which I told the front desk about when I checked out. The shower/tub drain was slow so backed up when taking a shower, the toilet paper holder needed to be reinstalled as it was barely attached to the wall (it would have fallen off if I pulled on it too much) and the bathroom wall paper was starting to delaminate and curl at the joints.

An extraordinary hotel. The lobby was like a movie set. Large with a view to the lagoon. Staff went out of our way to give us an adjoining room (even though we had not requested ione). Breakfast was delicious. Our rooms had a small balcony, They beds were vey comfortable. A fresh and updated decor left plenty of room for my grandsons, 8 and 11 to spread out. The grounds were just lovely and the pool overlooked the lagoon.

The restaurant was a bit pricy and the little cafe facing the lagoon did not have much of a selection. Other than that,, everything was wonderful.

Our room was on first floor and the noise from the front desk area could be really LOUD at times, as late as midnight. The Spectrum TV was difficult to use, controller wasn't set up for all the needed functions. Sometimes it was like a treasure hunt locating ice. Machine empty, needed to locate another one. Ice machines weren't on every floor. Sometimes a clerk at the front desk had 'an attitude '
