This is a very nice boutique hotel with lots of charm. Lobby and rooms are beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Anyone who appreciates design should visit this hotel. It's a nice change to all the standard chain hotels. I had lots of light in my room, even the bathroom has daylight. It's very pleasant. Good breakfast spread with fresh fruits. The location is also good near the Mariscal area and not too far away from the historic centre.

Not much to critisise really. Shower head could have been better. Restaurant should offer at least one proper vegetarian option (not just pasta and tomato sauce).

This was our first hotel on the self driving round trip through Ecuador - what a perfect start! The hotel is not too big (exactly as we like it 😊), has several areas that are decorated in a different way letting you enjoy the comfort, design and privacy. The staff is extremely attentive, helpful, speaks very good English, any time ready to help you with and advice what to see, where to eat, to call a taxi (and give the driver the directions! 😁) or make a reservation for you. The location is very quiet, within a walking distance from the many Mariscal's restaurants and a short taxi drive (4 usd) from the historical centre. Breakfast is a dream! Fresh fruit and good coffee we're my favourite part 😊 There is a nice view over Quito from the terrace by day and by night 👍 Highly recommended! Would be a pleasure to stay here again one day maybe ❤

There was nothing not to like 😊

The hotel is in an excellent location. All the staff (front desk, restaurant, cleaning and maintenance) were pleasant and very helpful. The room was of adequate size and clean; and the bed was comfortable. The WiFi was reliable. Breakfast was good.

Throughout my stay, the hot water in the bathroom took at least 25 minutes to move from “frigid” to “barely tepid”. This was reported to hotel staff and noted in the in-house hotel questionnaire.

In total, we stayed at Ikala 8 nights (we also had a 4 night stay from Nov 12-16). The staff was nothing short of exceptional. Special call out to Maria Jose who was kind and sweet when I had some challenges with the altitude my first night. Jessica was also very helpful when we had a mix-up with the company administering our PCR tests. We also had help arranging a driver for our day in Mindo who turned out to be fantastic and we had a great day :) The location felt safe and was relatively quiet. There was always someone at the front desk and a security guard. The restaurant breakfast had good choice. There were limited hot options but we always found something we wanted. The server who had hot milk for our morning coffee was a gem. We had a couple dinners at the hotel restaurant as well and they were fairly good. The restaurant next door has exceptional food and we would really recommend visiting them as well. I had my 40th birthday during our stay and the kitchen kindly made me a lovely birthday cake with strawberries :) Thank you! The first stay, our room was on the restaurant side and was smaller and older with less comfortable beds (I think I booked a standard?). We still enjoyed our stay! Our 2nd visit we had a room on the other side and it was huge and updated with extremely comfortable beds (i think this was a deluxe room with balcony). Several times, taxi drivers had issues finding the hotel - I recommend showing them with a small map or asking if they remember the hotel by its previous name (i think Anahi?) I would highly recommend Ikala on your visit to Quito. We had one night in the old town on this trip at a well known place and we felt safer and slept better at Ikala where an uber to the old town was less than $2 when we wanted to visit historical sites/cathedral etc.

The standard room needed more hooks or places to hang things, especially in the bathroom.

It was my second time i had stay in this hotel. The breakfast was really great. There was a lot of protein so it was good. Bed was really comfy !

The bathroom was so tiny. I was difficulty to move inside of the bathroom and the smell of the toilet was awful. During my first stay, the room was really nice but this time it was really horrible. So I didn't think, i paid a just price fort the room.

It’s the best hotel I stayed in Ecuador, hands down. I had an optimal stay from start to finish. My room was beautifully appointed, functional and comfortable with everything I needed. The bathroom is very modern and stylish. The WiFi works fast and consistent through out the property. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the breakfast which is served in a pergola like place. The hotel encompasses several buildings and each has its own style and are combined through the lobby. The hotel is clean, it sets the standard for cleanliness. The location is great, I walked to Mariscal and took the E3 bus to the old city. There are fantastic restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood, I recommend to use map apps to find them. All over I had a wonderful time. It’s worthwhile another trip

As a solo female traveller I felt safe. Additionally, the staff was welcoming, helpful and friendly.

there is a centre courtyard that is covered by some type of hard clear plastic. When it rains the rain dripping onto or off of some thing onto the plastic is very loud.

A very well managed boutique hotel in a quiet neighborhood. It's bright and has nice décor. Staff is helpful and friendly. Our room on the top floor is a corner one with high ceiling and a balcony. It's spacious and has local design. We cannot ask for more. We stayed for 3 nights and truly enjoyed it. In Quito this is the place you wanna stay instead of big chain hotels!

The breakfast is basic. It's from 7-10a, however if you go around 9a may find stock a bit low...

I appreciated the extremely friendly and helpful staff. I fell ill with altitude sickness and they helped my partner find a pharmacy that was open. They also supplied me with a special tea to help the symptoms and even delivered breakfast to our room since I was way too sick to even move. I had a rough time but the staff helped make everything better. When it was time to leave, they also helped arrange a taxi ride. Thank you!!

The room was cold and the shower was warm (not hot). It was a bit difficult to warm up. The t.v. also showed nothing but a static screen.
