A touch on the pricey side, but expected for the time of year but still very pleased. I had been meaning to see 24 hours of sunlight for many years, and finally got to see it. The all-you-can-eat breakfast was a mistake judging by the bathroom scales. Very clean rooms, sauna worked well, The occasional reindeer on the streets was a nice surprise. The local 7-22 hour supermarket across the street was very useful. ( Please note, it is not possible to get basic drugs such as aspirins/paracetamols over the counter in Finland). Due to when the airplanes land and leave, there will be hours when the room is not ready or needs to be vacated. The staff kindly kept our luggage for free during those few waiting hours.

Minor bad points, we had a squeaky door, soon fixed by the staff. Transport from the Airport to the hotel can be very expensive, luckily we found a local private bus service. And finally, the mosquitos and midges are just starting to come out at the end of June.

The staff is really lovely, helpful and friendly. They offer a lots of help during our stay, we check out early (before 8am) in order to catch the bus. The reception helped us to pre-book the taxi as next day was the public holiday, unlikely we will be able to get any public transport or on-the-road taxi as their working hour will be late. The staff even prepared breakfast sets for the 2 of us, they packed sandwich’s and some snacks, fruit juices and we really appreciated of how thoughtful are them. super full! our bus journey was more than 5hours and their isn’t a any stop in between, the breakfast set was really saved us. The room is spacious, we got a hotel room equipped with sauna inside the room but too bad that we didn’t have a chance to use it. there are also public sauna at basement. we got the room at 2nd storey but there is no elevator available inside the building so we have to climb up with our luggages. as for the location, it is quite convenient as there are restaurants and a big supermarket just opposite of the hotel. but for the bus stop that heading to other town such as Rovaniemi, it is 700m meter, walking distance 15mins but if you are carrying luggages and it is winter time, just grab the taxi like how we did. you will never regret to take the taxi because the road was full of snow.. it is impossible to “drag” your luggage and walk to the bus station. taxi fare from hotel to the bus station is about €11 per trip.

We arrived in Ivalo after a 1 day traveling with airplanes and then with rental car. So we were pretty tiered. But the hotel is very easy to find. Parking in no problem direkt in front of the Hotel. The lady at the reception is very helpfull. It seems she knows our questions and needs in advance and had always a good answer. We had a very good early dinner with very good food and draft beer. The Hotel offers a Sauna seperated between men and women of later mixed. We were very luky because there was live musik in the Hotel so we were dancing until midnight (I think this is not every time). Next morning we enjoyed the breakfast. It was a perfect start of our vacation. We will definately stay in this hotel again in our next trip to Finland.

I had a pleasant stay at Kultahippu Hotel. Its location is central to different sights in Ivalo. Just behind it is the Ivalo river. It was frozen and you could walk on it. Aside from that, I did like the ambiance in the hotel and restaurant. They do have good food. You can also book leisure activities such as Northern light tours, dog sleighs, etc at the hotel, which really makes it convenient. For low-budget travelers like me, it was a good luxury on but very affordable for people like me who are on a low budget.

Good breakfast with a range of options (vegetarian and vegan friendly). Hotel was very good at communicating opening times of reception and when to pick up our keys. Even booked us a taxi to get from airport to hotel for a reasonable price. Staff were lovely and friendly and the rooms were spacious with lots of amenities (soap, towels, coffee, tea and wifi)

Very helpful, accomodaging staff. Comfortable, clean room. Clean and spacious bathroom. Great mattress on beds. Good breakfast buffet, and wonderful meals a la carte. Hotel offers wide variety of additional paid activities.

In the room, there was some kind of system installed (heating? air conditioning?), which made constant white noise. It was not a problem for us, but it might be for very light sleepers.

We had super early morning flight and arrive at the hotel around 9.00 am. Luckily, the room was vacant and the staff try to manage us an early checkin which was really nice. The apartment we booked is beautiful and the facilities including sauna are great. For us, the apartment is a bit too small for 5 persons. Breakfast and lunch buffet are delicious and affordable. The location is great. We can walk to the lake which we can enjoy day view and can also spot aurora from here. Supermarket is opposite to the hotel. There are some fast food restaurant that we can walk to get. All in all, we love this place. :)

We’ve stayed before so know this is a good hotel. This time we opted for one of the newer upgraded rooms and they are excellent. Very comfortable, well equipped and roomy. Perfect. Location is great as close to the airport and a short bus or taxi ride away. I can easily recommend this place. It’s a lot nicer than the “hoteli ivalo” just down the road.. not that that is a bad hotel, the kultahippu is just better.

Sadly the restaurant was closed at the weekends on our arrival , due to COVID laws, so in no way the hotel at fault for this. Fortunately there is a well stocked supermarket opposite, so no problem. Breakfast could have been a bit warmer if I was being picky, but it was tasty.

It was at a great location. It was superbly clean with all the required necessary elements. WiFi was very strong. Breakfast was too good. Staffs were all time smiling. It was a nice pleasant stay.

If there was a small study table instead of a coffee tool then I could work more comfortably in my laptop. Small computer table can also be used for placing electric kettle and other stuff. The existing coffee table was too low to do work on computer.

I've been to this hotel a couple of years ago, and is still amazing. It's being renovated, but it still is a perfect stay on your way to the north. Big and clean room, very confy bed, slept like a log. Large bathroom. Really nice breakfast and a grate restaurant with river view.
