the location next to the lake is wonderful, you can see the lake from your room any day (ask for roooms with lake view) and also from the breakfast hall. The breakfast is very good and full of different things with attention to lactose free foods. I recommend this very strongly.

nothing bad in my opinion; I recommend to try to select a room with lake view, although you can see the lake also from other locations at the hotel: there is also a little dock on the rear with free access

I stayed 8 nights for work and had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The location was amazing, directly on the lake with a wonderful view. The room was very comfortable and functional, oriented to environmental respect (e.g., apart from the wall soap dispenser, there are no amenities in the bathroom). The breakfast was excellent, with home-made marmalade and cakes. Dinner at the restaurant was of good quality and presentation. Very friendly and kind staff, in particular let me thank Tommy. I will definitely repeat!

The hotel is located near the lake but very close to the downtown (walking distance). Free parking, nice personnel, clean and comfy rooms, TV, hair-dryer, good Wi-fi. The breakfast was superb - great choice of dishes, even for a child. There were entertaining facilities next to the hotel.

I could not locate the source of the constant humming noise (outside), I believe it cannot be helped, but I would have preferred soundproof windows. My son fell from his bed at night, so maybe it is not the best option if your child moves at night. I would say the breakfast room is too hot as it is exposed to the sun, so it worth regulating the temperature.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. I liked location - not central, close to nature, quite, I even got room with lake view. Breakfast was good - different options, all tasty. Rooms well soundproofed.

Some issue with ceramic sink outlet - water was not draining properly. Not all rooms are equipped with AC - I am not sure I had one, but since it was not hot yet, I did not even need it.

This hotel is at the literal lakeshore, almost on top of water, so the views are amazing (make sure to book a lake-view room). The breakfast is very generous and offers plenty of Finnish delicacies for sampling.

It can be a bit noisy at night because it is a popular hotel. Also, it is not at the city centre, ~15-20mins walk. However, the lake views make up for that.

I've stayed at the Alba for over ten years and I really enjoy staying there and will return. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and, on this occasion, I was upgraded as they noticed I was staying for a long time. That was a very nice surprise upon arrival.

The hotel is around 25 minutes walk from the city centre which is not an issue but, because of this, it would be better if the food selection in the hotel restaurant was more varied. I would have liked to have eaten in the restaurant more frequently but as the choice was limited it was disappointing to eat there more than once during my stay.

The hotel is in a beautiful location right by a lake and beautiful walking bridge. Friendly staff. Lovely walk to town by the lake path. Good breakfast in a dining room over the lake. View from my window on the side of the lake.

There is no bus stop near-by. I used e-scooters to move about but in the winter couldn't do that.

Nearly perfect: varied breakfast, ample parking (at weekends at least when uni park is available), spectacular view from terrace, great spectacular walk/jog route around.

The bed a bit too soft, window half broken (opened vertically but if trying to open horizontally it tried to fall on me and was hanging on one element only).

As a Jyväskylä University remote student, absolutely loved the location few metres from the University building. Lake view out of the room is amazing!

Loud smoking people at the entrance to the hotel late at night. Other guests complained about it, as their windows looked at the parking where the smoking people were.

Cleaning of the room was not really done, the dust wwas accumulating on the floor and table. Although I put three times the sign "Please make up my room" on my door (room 101), the cleaning was not done. Nobody from the service took a vaccum cleaner. So there is room for improvement. Or the single rooms have no focus, would also be an assumption.
